Glimpse of life at Axis College

I applied to this college (Axis college) through the UPSEE entrance exam. I applied for the OBC quota for admission. The minimum mark for getting admission to Axis College is 60 percent and the minimum age is 17 years. The admission process was smoothly conducted on the counseling day without any problem.

I chose Computer Science Engineering as the IT industry is the fastest growing Industry in the professional world. I wanted to study and know more about computers and programming. There is a good number of faculty in the college. Faculty to student ratio is good. Every faculty is very well qualified for the job and there is no such difficulty in passing the term exams. Class tests are conducted every month.

The placements in the college begin from the 6th semester onwards. The placement here is good for CS/IT students. There are quite a few good recruiters here like Amazon, Allen Solley, Wipro, and many more. The highest package offered is 12 LPA while the average package is about 4 LPA. About 50 percent of students are only placed in on-campus placements.

The fee structure is fine in comparison to other colleges in Kanpur. My course fees for CS/IT branch are about Rs. 1.3 lakh per annum. The college does provide some scholarships for the students like tuition fee waivers, topper scholarships, and also for economically unstable. Uttar Pradesh government scholarship program is also valid here.

There are several fests that are conducted in the college. The sports meet is conducted in the month of February where many sports events like cricket, football, volleyball, etc take place. The annual fest takes place here in which celebrities come in which cultural events are conducted. There are technical groups and societies in the college too. Many tech events take place throughout the year. Sports facilities are available only for hostlers. Classrooms are also spacious. There are two libraries in the college. Labs are also well equipped.
