Remarks

I had a passion for engineering. So I opted for B.Tech. I had good marks in my higher secondary education.I wrote the KEAM examination and I got good marks too.I also appeared for the entrance preparation course which helped me a lot. As I was sure that I will get a good government college, i didn't apply for other colleges.I was allotted to a different college at first. But finally, I got admission to Government Engineering College Bartonhill which is near my residing area.It is one of the best Engineering College s in Kerala. The admission process was simple. It was done at my college which included document verification and an interview.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I chose Mechanical Engineering which is a core branch in B.Tech. I love the subject. Our college is blessed with a lot of experienced and knowledgeable faculty. The faculty: student ratio is approximately 1:10.The classes here are excellent. We are able to learn the subject very effectively. The faculty is very supporting and the college provides all resources for studying purpose. The term exams are at an interval of 6 months. The exams will test us of the technical knowledge which is useful for the jobs in the mechanical field. The exams will be a little tough to pass. But we all get more and more improved in this field. I passed in all exams. Some of the students who couldn't make it through the exam are provided with supplementary exams every year.

Placement Experience

3.5

The college provides campus placement for students. Usually this starts at the end of 6th semester. Many companies approach our college for recruitment. Some of them are Bosch, Mahindra, TCS, Wipro, IBM, Keltron, etc. The packages offered were from 2 lakh to 8 lakh per annum. And rare companies offered more.Approximately 60% students get campus placement here. My plan is also to het into a company which provides a decent package which gives me experience and make me self relient.

Fees and Financial Aid

As my college is a government college. The fees are very less. Of course we have to pay admission fee and Tuition fee, but it is relatively cheap as it is government funded. The fees is fixed and there is no change. We an apply for many scholarships from the college like Central sector scholarship, Merit Scholarship, etc. I didn't register for any of the scholarships though. These scholarships providw financial assistance to economic and socially backward students.

Campus Life

4.5

The annual tech fest of our college is called 'Aagneya'.It is usually conducted in the early months of the year like March or April. Last year it was not conducted because of Coronavirus Outbreak. Our college has a well-equipped library which contains books and literature of every genre. We all spent some good time in the library. Our college has well-arranged workshops, labs, Audiovisual rooms, and other departmental rooms. All classes are equipped with projectors and white screens. We all are satisfied with the amenities provided. Our college also supports sports and extracurricular activities. We have college teams for football, cricket, badminton, and many games. Also, we have a dance team, college band, etc. There are a lot of student organizations working at our college. Some ofbthem are ASME, ISTE, IEEE, etc.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is excellent because it contains so many informative ideas and the practical lab is the best. I chose this course to get an idea about the civil engineering field and i m satisfied with it. The faculty members are very supportive and helpful. The student ratio is very low. Faculties at our college are MTech holders and PHD also. There will be two series exams and one university exam in each semester and there are eight semesters in Btech.
