Rahul's Review On MIT Group Of Institution, Moradabad

I studied Mechanical Engineering at MIT. I was told Mechanical from MIT is one of the best among all UPTU colleges. Later I discovered that it was just a myth. There was no such thing for which you can tag it except the labs in the department. Labs of Mechanical are really good and well equipped. But I think this should not be sufficient enough for anyone to get admission in some college. Well talking about pedagogy of college although it would be my audacity to talk about studies because I was not really involved in anything like that during all the four years. But still I am sharing what I learnt through my scholar friends there.

Coming to placement the most promising feature of any engineering college, MIT unlike most of the colleges of UPTU provides placements to some of the students. Infosys is the regular recruiter of the college. Except this sometimes some not so renowned companies also visit the campus. So if you are good enough to grab an opportunity you will probably get it at MIT. But then again mark my words do not expect too much in context of placement from this college.

Fees of the college are like other private colleges of UPTU.

Scholarships are available too for reserved categories.

Infrastructure of college was not bad at all. There are separate academic blocks for each department. A central park to sit and watch all the crowd of the college an auditorium which was meant to only some extracurricular activities a canteen with nothing good in it, a library that was of course well equipped with books and magazines. They also provide book bank facility to all. There is also an internet lab where you are not allowed most of the time. All in all infrastructure is not that much disheartening you will get the feel of studying in a good engineering institution.

I would not say anything about hostels and food there because I didnt live there. But what I know about hostels of MIT is that it was probably not the best option to stay in the hostels. Hostellers had their own world and in my opinion they were cut off from the outside social life. However for girls, hostels were the best option because there were not enough PG facilities for girls in Moradabad and also the girls hostel is located in the campus. If you are thinking about social life and hanging out with friends you would probably get disappointed.

The academics were actually good at MIT. Some of the faculty members were experienced and well qualified. They were supportive too up to some extent. But what they taught about engineering was just what was in the books. Precisely you do not need any professor to be an engineer. Internal marks were given either to those who really deserved it or to those whom the Professor found deserving. Same with the attendance, although they were very strict about it, but one can manage it if he has the ability to persuade the professor.
