Student life at Gujarat technological university(GTU)

The admission process was kind of easy and smooth. I didn't find any difficulties while applying for college. For admission, I gave the GUJCET exam which is held at the state level and conducted by the government of Gujarat. Eligibility includes a candidate who should be Indian, should have Gujarat domicile, lower age limit of candidates should be 17 years and lastly candidates belonging to the general category should have scored 45% in 12th to be eligible for GUJCET. The application form can be found on gseb.org website. Everything is kind off proper in the admission process so I don't think of any improvement in the admission process.

I chose computer engineering because its scope is high in future due to technological advancement. The faculty and student ratio is 1:70. Qualification of the faculty is high many faculty are passed out from NITs and few from IITs. Many faculty have done PhD in their respective field from highly reputed engineering colleges like IITs, and NITs. The teaching methods of highly qualified faculty are fantastic. They explain things using real-world problems and give practical knowledge. Mid-exams are held twice per semester with intervals of 3 months between 1st and 2nd mid-exams and the exam level is moderate Students can pass the exams easily if they have referred faculties notes.

From the 7th semester, students become eligible for placement. Very few companies have visited and one of them is byjus which offers CTC:9 lakh. There is less percentage of students getting placement because many students don't seat for placement because of further studies plans. And My plan after getting a degree is of doing masters in a foreign country.

The fees structure is like 44000rs per semester. There is no any fees hike policy. There is no Scholarship or campus job college giving. There is a government scholarship called MYSY i.e. Mukhyamantri Yuva Smavalamban yojana. In MYSY and in the engineering field you get up to 50000INR scholarship amount, 5000INR for book and equipment assistance and 1200INR per month for a hostel grant.

College life is kind of okay. Two kinds of feats are there. One is CULTURAL and the other is TECHNICAL fest. The technical fest is conducted around October and the cultural fest is conducted around April. Many books and journals are available in the library but some books are old and are haven't updated to their new versions. Amenities in classrooms include a smart board, projector, blackboard and wooden and iron benches. Every kind of sport is played on campus like cricket, football, volleyball, basketball, badminton, and table tennis. There are proper grounds for cricket and football, proper courts for volleyball and basketball, and a proper indoor stadium for badminton and table tennis. Many clubs are there like literature, photography, fine arts, music, dance and drama. Social groups include NSS and women empowerment.
