Remarks

The admission process was fairly simple. There are 3 rounds, the SEED test for which you can apply on the website, and then a studio test and interview. You get called on-campus for the last 2 rounds if you make it past the first.

Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

The course curriculum for Graphic Design is very average. The curriculum is ALMOST at par with industry standards. The first year is devoted to the basics of art, drawing and sketching, and crafts. The faculty during this year is supportive and good at what they do. This year is probably the most organized in terms of curriculum, coordination of faculty, tests and reviews, and overall. After this, it goes a little downhill. 2nd year is again, happening as you're being introduced to digital tools. For my batch, it was a fairly good experience because the faculty responsible for this was good and taught well. Once you come to 3rd, your faculty changes, and I'd there's about 1-2 faculty from a total of 6-7 that cares about teaching the course. The rest don't communicate at all or teach the skills required to complete the assignments they give 4th year is the same. You're on you're own!

Placement Experience

4

The placements are decent. As mentioned, they bring in corporate companies rather than design studios, so it is a given that you get a good salary. The placements department coordinates through email and you have to do tasks and interviews until finally get the job. A lot of students apply on their own too though.

Fees and Financial Aid

They give fee payment support for 1-2 students based on your performance and interaction with faculty. You have to apply for it. The packages in placements are pretty decent, but they mostly bring in corporations that require in-house designers rather than design studios. The fees are average for a design school in India. Not too high, or low.

Campus Life

4

Social life and on-campus activities are bustling for sure. The campus location is great with literally everything you need around. It's a bit expensive but the abundance of a student crowd makes it worthwhile. The college organizes lots of activities and fests (mostly student-run) that you can participate in. Lots of college memories.

The MVP college is one of the best Architectural and Design colleges in the region. I have a lot of fond memories of college. I am glad that I chose this college for my bachelor’s. That one decision changed my life and shaped my career in a way Gaudi would shape his buildings.

NIFT has its own entrance exam which happens in February every year. I got an AIR for 42. Why I chose NIFT can't be answered very logically, I didn't want to do sheetu everyone else was doing, I can just put it that way and Nift being the best in the course I opted for it.
