Remarks

For admission to the Pharmacy courses, student must have passed class 12th with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics/Biology. Students have to secure a minimum of 50% marks in the qualifying examination. The application form and all the details are available in the website of Himalayan Pharmacy Institute. There is some reservations for the backward classes.

B Pharma offers you ample job opportunities. Those who wish to do research in this stream or become professors in any deemed university can pursue advanced courses such as M. Pharm or PhD in Pharma. The faculty student ratio is 1:15. The qualification of faculty is Masters or PHD in pharmacy. There are two sessional exams and one end term exam in one semester and it's pretty difficult to pass.

Placement starts at the last year 8th semester. And there is 99% placement rate. Many Pharma companies like Zuventus, alpha Pharma etc visits the college. Avg package of 5 LPA. My plan is to do Masters after Bachelors.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees structure is 6,24,000 for the whole course. There are loan opportunities but no scholarship. You can opt for education loan and the college will help you for that. There is 99% placement rate in this college of avg salary of 5 LPA.

Campus Life

There will be a Annual Fest and a Pharmacy Week every year. The Library is very advanced and has abundant books. There's a hostel field and available equipment for playing sports like cricket football volleyball etc.

Hostel Facilities

The facilities of rooms are normal. Not so luxurious and not so bad. You get a bed and a table to study. The meal quality is normal. Registration process is by attending the hostel on the day of admission.

I liked the discipline what college has taught me in my academic life.
Discipline makes a better future tommorow.
Positivity in every faculty and director.

Dislikes

over disciplined in most of the cases, especially in cultural program.
Partiality between locals and outsiders, language partiality, color partiality, local power
emergency facility medical treatment in college and hostel.

Placement Experience:

from 7th semester students eligible for sitting in placement drive. companies visited like alkem, cipla zydus, zuventus, alembic etc. highest salary is 2.5 lakh per annum and lowest in 2 lakh per annum. 85% students get placed in placement drives remaining students opt for higher studies and family business. my plans after getting degree is to get the experience the field in retail sector. and do my own business . not only I will depend on one business I will generate multiple source of income form my business strategy and communication skills.

AN INTERESTING STORY OF A HOME AWAY FROM HOME

Likes

The teachers are knowledgeable and student oriented
Proper laboratory facilities are provided by the college
Good that the college emphasises more on academic

Dislikes

College has no other activities or programmes conducted
Hostel Wi-Fi facility is poor and the food is just fine
The college is super strict regardless of students

Course Curriculum Overview:

The area which influenced me to choose this course was my passion for medical science. The college gives you a hands on experience for the industry and hospitals. The teaching method is just the old fashion and the exam are too frequent leaving students burnt out

Teacher's and their way of teaching students
Laboratory experience given to ud to prepare medicine, how to analyse etc
The job assurance you can get in this college no other colleges in sikkim can compete with it

Dislikes

Nothing to be disliked about everything is great 👍
You may be disappointed about your campus because it consists of one department.
No unnecessary programs because it hampers the study

Placement Experience:

The placement of our college is the best in sikkim I would say because not only a high CGPA graduate can get a good salary job but also the low CGPA graduate holds a great chance to secure jobs.. I heard from many senior students and teachers that you are provided job based on your skills

A look to HPI

Likes

College campus is quite peaceful .Greenery covers entire college

Dislikes

Campus is quite small . Clasrooms are not in that good condition

Course Curriculum Overview:

B pharmacy is a professional course and if influenced me to choose this course This course prepares you for real world application starting from communication to discipline every thing is taught in this course one becomes very disciplined and dedicated to this course once they opt for it The improvement required is to give proper gaps between sessional and semister examination as it puts too much stress on student and the faculty at the ending rushes and completes the syllabus in a hurry without proper explaination and just gives ppts at the end and sometimes doesnt even complete the syllabus before semister exams . So i think this thing needs to be inproved Sessional examinations are not too hard but semister examinations are mild to hard

Likes

Teaching and non-teaching staffs and quality of teaching
Friendly environment and a positive approach from both students as well as teachers
Weather is suitable and college location is quite good

Dislikes

College management doesn't seems to be interested
Campus could've been a little bigger which is currently quite small
Extra curricular activities are very less as major focus is academic wise

Placement Experience:

Campus placement is great as an average of 3 lakh per annum is guaranteed every year and moreover if few students who do not get campus placement their employment rate is very high as jobs are easily accomplished

Likes

The environment where the college is situated is very comfortable and impressive..
As there is no compromise with discipline so this college is very good and the teachers teaching is also great.
The programs held in this college are based on the culture, tradition and good skills

Dislikes

There is lack of practical knowledge bacause only theory won't help us in further education
They don't provide much holidays and sometimes the fees is asked too early
The examination held is quite soon as possible and we have to be mentally prepared

Placement Experience:

After seventh semester, students are eligible for placements. There are multiple companies such as Cipla, Alkem laboratories limited, etc. Atleast 70% of students get placements. I would like to get a placement in Alkem laboratories, and look forward in the best salary to work.

I love my College

Likes

15+ pharma companys are in Sikkim. Job faculty is good & Placement also.
Beautiful garden in our college campus. Clean weather.
Campus is good. Beautiful trees are there.

Dislikes

Campus is too small. Other colleges campus is bigger then our college.
There is no canteen in our college which is so boring.
Auditorium hall to small. The college is located in a short place.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Because of my father's Business & I want to do job in pharma company. 60% Boys & 40% girls. Teaching with good way & qualifications are also good. In one semester(6 months) there are two internal Exam & one semester exam & 50% number is needed in each & every subject to pass.

About college life

Remarks:

Bengali and Nepali are more preferred. so be there good friends. and the warden is worst than ever she needs to get suspended. and the studies are much more better than other colleges as they will always give you notes or slides.

Bad, I haven't found. Good is that they love their work which is well organised. HPI is the finest college of pharmacy which have enlighten so many students life and will continue to do so.

The eligibility of the pharmacy courses is the following, the student should pass 10+2 with Math or Biology, Physics, and Chemistry above 60% marks. The addmission process is very simple. At first, the student has to enter the official website of the college. Then he or she has to take the number of the director of the college and then you have to call the director. He will tell them to send the marksheets of the student and then if the student is eligible the director will provide account details. Then you have to pay the addmission fees for seat booking. Then they will provide a particular date for document verification, that day the student will enter the college and hostel. Then the next day, the class will start. If the admission process is online then it will be very helpful to every student and it will be very fast.
