Entrance Preview
I was getting Computer Science seat, which I wanted Near to a city for transportation and at the same time away from it so that I could spend time on my subjects wanted college hostel so that I could concentrate on my studies.
Course Curriculum Overview
We followed VTU syllabus and VTU University had just revised the syllabus. They had best of the content at least in Computer Science branch. We had the latest topics of then like Artificial Intelligence, Digital Marketing, etc. It was amazing to be learning new things which other university had not included in the syllabus.
Internships Opportunities
Yes, Basavakalyan Engineering college does provide opportunities for internships. The college has a tie-up with various agencies which provide the internship. We have many start ups coming in to provide opportunities.
Placement Experience
Placements are good. The general hiring market for fresher is not so good but considering that fact, placement record has been good at basavakalyan engineering college. many companies do come and provide opportunities for us. Package probably not among the best but opportunities are good.
College Events
Many events are celebrated at the Basavakalyan Engineering college campus, some of them are: 1. Teachers day 2. Karnataka day 3. Independence day 4. Republic day 5. International Yoga day 5. Sports day 6. Annual day 7. Freshers' day 8. Pass out day 9. Cultural Fest 10. Seminars and conferences are organized
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee is very much feasible. College also provides scholarships to the deserving students. The overall cost structure is also very low. Studying at Basavakalyan Engineering college is very much feasible and I am proud of being a student of the college. They don't force you to buy stuff from the college itself.
Fees and Financial Aid
I didn't take and not aware of in my friend's circle but I know Canara bank do offer loan facility to deserving candidates
Campus Life
We had everything on our campus. We have a sports tournament, debate, general competitions. We had talent show competitions. Our lab had all the equipment we needed for work. Overall, everything was great and I consider we were lucky to be in such a college.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facility was the best, no problem at all. All the facilities were provided. Regular visits by the hostel warden to make sure we maintained the rooms properly. Food was good, college didn't force us to eat at the mess only. So there is much private mess available around hostels.
Alumni/Alumna
In this digital age its easy to be part of a network and we too have facebook and WhatsApp group where we are in touch with our seniors
Exam Structure
Basavakalyan Engineering college follows Visweswaraih Technological university syllabus so examination is also driven by them. We have internal and external examinations. There is a percentage of marks allotted to attendance and performance in the class participation too.
Admission
I wrote KCET and got a rank of 4K in the year 1999. I was invited for the counselling to KCET central location which was in Bangalore. I went there and waited for my turn. When I was there called it, I looked for all the colleges where Computer Science seats were available. I had few colleges in my mind and luckily enough BKEC had CS seat so without any second thought I opted for the seat. I didnt go for second round of counselling as I was happy with my choice.
Faculty
the best part of my college life was the faculty. They will not only good at teaching but they inspired us to do our best. They were simply amazing and inspired us to give our best. They very well knew their expertise and taught us to do well no matter how the situation is. I am very thankful to them.
