What Students Say

Likes

I liked my campus very much as there are many beautiful sceneries and they have a lot of facilities.
The programmes conducted are damn good like techfests and exhibitions
The place is very lively and students of the campus are supportive

Course Curriculum Overview

I chose this course as it has many placement opportunities. In this course we can learn every aspect of civil engineering and get internships and a sufficient experience for getting jobs. The campus placements is quite helpful for the students as they will not face difficulties finding jobs.

Class Size: 135Course Fees: INR 33600 per year

Internships Opportunities

Internships are often available in our college.Even we get internships under the public works department. Internships with stipend is also available as we will get a work experience it will be very helpful for campus placements.

Placement Experience

Students are applicable for campus placement after the 6th Semester. A wide variety of companies come to grab someone who has the caliber to work for their company.Companies Like Oracle,Wipro,TATA often recieve students for placements. The Highest package is about 20 LPA and average package is about 4-5 LPA

Fees and Financial Aid

As the college is halfly autonomous students can get admission through acquiring fair ranks for the entrance examinations or they can get a management seat. The fees structure for the students are 8,200 per year and for getting management quota seat they must pay an amount of 6 lakhs.

Campus Life

Tha facilities are good. Our technocultural fest Hestia is conducted every year.In the campus we have a football ground,Tennis court, Basketball court, Badminton Court,Gym, Volleyball court. Many workshops are conducted by various companies etc.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel facilities are good but the food provided by the college hostel is a major issue and I have got food poison and other health issues. Also for the first years they have a curfew for both boys and girls at 7:00 pm.

Hostel Fee: INR 6500 per year

Admission

Admission process is quite simple as we have to upload the needed documents through etlab portal. After writing the keam entrance exam i got a rank of 10036 and got in tkm for first allotment. We have to take a temporary admission after that take a permanent admission if you would want to in the next allotments.

Faculty

The faculty to student ratio is quite great and the students are able to grasp and learn the subjects by attending their lectures. The qualifications of the faculty members are quite good and they are capable of teaching every child who are facing difficulties to learn.

Is engineering here worth it?

Likes

All the teachers are well qualified and equipped to teach but the quality of teaching differs as per individual.

Dislikes

The say of students in matters concerning them or others is nil. We have very little say as the management takes all decisons.
Teachers have ego and superiority issues between themselves which might affect the children in 4th year, project phases.
Fests, events and functions are not upto any expectations.Schools in trivandrum have better events than our college.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible from 7th semester to sit for interviews. The pod.ai app helps us in making the resume and calculating a cgpa to appear for the intwrviews. The pod.ai registration fees is 500?. Companies such as nissan, infosys, commandtech, bimlabs, gulfasia etc has visited . And the highest package was 11 LPA and lowest was 3 LPA

The climate here is also very peacefull and very good atmosphere to study
The students here are from everywhere so there is a big diversity in the culture

Dislikes

There is a lack of public transportation system like railway station here
There are lots of insects and others things here which is very disturbing during summer season
The main problem the students here are going through is the bad quality of hostel food that we get here

Placement Experience:

Our college is a NAAC accredited college and lots of companies come here to recruit our students . Last year one of a students who studied here got a really big placement of 48 lakhs per annum and there is a placement cell available here in the campus which tries to get all the students placement like these !!

TIST , Great college , fun events and more

Likes

Our seniors passed out with flying colors joining different companies or starting their own. There's a good focus on peer learning and student communities which is pretty nice. Canteen food is decent and labs are great
Most people and professors are friendly and they encourage you to try out new things.

Dislikes

Hostel water , busses are pretty fast. Sometimes roads are a bitt rough

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is under KTU syllubus do it's fine. There is a change in curriculum coming 2024 which i assume would make a lot of good changes. The curriculum gives you a head start For most of your work, you need to on your own but the faculty is there to help. The frequency of exams is weekly tests + monthly exams. Its not too difficult of an exam.

I feel like staffs in my department are pretty good, atleast they fullfill their duties to cover the portions in right time
We have placements training, offered free of cost by college itself
Notes and necessary materials for studying are provided from college itself, and most teachers don't force on buying textbooks or other materials

Dislikes

College is located in aarakunnam, which is a bit remote area hence for various needs we often need to travel a few kilometres even for basic necessities
The road to collage entrance is a steep road, and currently it's under construction (it's been a yr)
Students are required to park their vehicles outside the college, as there is no parking facilities for students inside campus

Placement Experience:

Currently placements are bit low, due to inflation, but compared to other colleges like KMEA, etc we have better placements similar to Muthoot and all. We have placement training, and other supports which can help us crack aptitude exams and prepare for placements Almost 70-80% students are placed every year, with an avg package of 4LPA
