Entrance Preview

I took AIEEE entrence exam, I got 75 marks and with this marks card i got admission in Gandhi Engineering College which is affilated to Biju patnaik university of Technology,Odisha, Bhubaneswar.

Internships Opportunities

Not even single company came to our college, we did not have an opportunity to have internship. Thats the reason we had to take the Internship outside from some other companies.

Placement Experience

0.5

The placement and job opportunities was very bad. In our batch ony 50 got placed out of 450.The companies names who visited our college are Hexaware Technologies package 2.3 lac per annum,Tech Mahindra - package 2.8 per annum, Infosys - package 3.2 per annum.

College Events

Yes our college has conducted Technical festivals like technical quiz, painting etc. Those festivals were not big in an around 20 participants were there for dancing and for qiuz there were 60 participants.

Fees and Financial Aid

As far as I am conserned, i had taken a loan of Rs 3 lakhs from Bank of india. Yes any one can availe the loan but the condition is that the loan taker should have good academic carreer. One more suggestion is that please while taking loans please verify each and every document carefully.

Campus Life

Our College campus was small one, there were total 450 strength in our batch and out of 450 members only 150 were girls. one workshop, there were no cultural societies and tolerance with regards to gender, ethnicity, race, religion, sexual orientation, politics and economic status.

Faculty

1.5

The faculties were not good, faculties were not well qualified.

Many fights between odia and bihari every year

Decent faculty and top tier placements, just follow the rules

Likes

I like the vibe of the canteen and greenery around my college

Dislikes

I don't like 75% attendance and the strictness of the faculty members

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is now updated since it became a University, so its more relevant to industry now but still we have to do extra courses for coding. Exams happen every few months—2 internals and one end-sem. They are not very easy, you actually need to study to pass without backlogs

Likes

The infrastructure of each campus in the college is very pretty and it's a green campus
The classrooms are well equipped with WiFi, Smart-boards for digital education.
Also travelling from one campus to another has been made easier as buses and golf carts are provided to students

Dislikes

The crowd of students here is too much which feels too much chaotic and disturbing .
The hostel management here as they don't give importance to the major issues here.
The hostel mess food. The quality is degrading day by day

Placement Experience:

The placements of my college is good. This year 75% of the students are already placed with an average package of 8LPA . The highest package till now for this year is 22LPA. Many companies have visited for the placements and 100+ offers have been made. Companies like BNY, Infosys, Deloitte, Accenture, Capgemini, Cognizant, Bain& Company, High Radius, TCS, EY, PWC and many more of them have visited the campus.

DRIEMS UNIVERSITY review after 5 year of frustrating experience legacy will be continued ????....

Likes

The college campus greenery and campus cleaning management are doing really very well that is the only good part but that doesn't matter much for your career.
⭐⭐There is nothing good to mention about this college after going through all the procedures from taking admission to degree,I regret and many of my friends also regretting taking admission into this college.⭐⭐

Dislikes

They have a good well maintained cricket ground but students are never allowed there only for commercial purposes and to attract new joinee.
Staff and management are very helpful and polite only till admission done.🥲.
Hostel food quality is extremely unhigenic, no one takes responsibility after many complaints also.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum was very classical , too much theory oriented for placement point of view they will provide last 1 month or 2 months training for aptitude part rest for technical you have to study on your own.

Beautiful campus with lot's of space and with good computer labs
They conduct exam in very smoothly manner

Dislikes

Need to improve administrative building while submitting fees many students face problem
Lab session of some subjects are too long which is around 3 hrs which need to reduce for atleast 2 hrs

Placement Experience:

Placement opportunities in my college are good, with students generally becoming eligible for campus placements from the pre-final or final year, depending on the course and company criteria. The college has an active placement celll that supports students by Organizing training sessions, resume building and also mock interviews.

Value For money college

My decision really came down to ROI and getting the CSE branch specifically. I tried for top government colleges like OUTR and VSSUT, but my JEE rank wasn't high enough for Computer Science there. I actually got Electrical at C.V. Raman, but I was determined to study CS, and private universities like KIIT were way out of my budget. It eventually came down to GEC vs. GITA. I picked GEC because the fees were slightly lower and the hostels are much better since we get attached washrooms. The admission process was super smooth; I applied through OJEE counseling based on my JEE Main rank, and once the seat was allotted, I just went to campus for document verification. They also have management seats if your rank is lower, so getting in isn't too stressful....Read More
