Know your life at Baroda medical College

Curriculum is well prepared for the real world applications and further academic pursuits because we are allowed to interact with patient daily form second year onwards in opds and wards. There are also exams after each ward ends to check out knowledge and what we have learnt. Frequency of exams is proper and enough time is given for preparation according to the difficulty level.

We have to do internship at our college only as it is a part of the course which includes one year of compulsory internship. It gives better exposure to practical knowledge and skills to benefit the overall usability of the course. We get 21800 per month as stipend from the government

Current fees of government college in gujarat is 25000 per year and there are other additional fees of around 5000 per year which includes library fees, sports room, etc . Student of obc, sc, and st gets free books from college. It's is 4.5 years course so last year which is of 1.5 year there is 37,500 fees. There is minimal exam fees which is around 2000-3000 per year. Hostel fees is 5000 for first year and then 3000 per year for next 3 years .

We have less cultural and social activities but it's really good for sports enthusiasts as there are various events around sports like burnout, bmc cup, etc and one cultural event every year. It generally happens in March. There are enough books and general available. Classroom are newly built with ac and new sitting arrangement which are really good. There is one sports room with table tennis,carrom, chess available. There are two badminton courts and one basket ball court. There are many clubs run by students like for singing, cricket, acting, dancing, etc.

I didn't applied for other colleges as i knew I was going to get addmission in this college and I choose this because I live in the same city and it convenient for me. As compared to other government college in gujarat this is at 2nd position after bj medical College ahemdabad. Eligibility criteria is to get 50 percent in 12th board in science (pcb). Addmission happens on the basis of neet exam marks. For getting into this college you need minimum 99.00 percentile in neet for open (general) category.

Each subject has around 6-8 faculties for non clinical subjects and for clinical subjects there are many units and each unit have around 5-6 faculties so there is like 1:25 ratio of students is to faculty. Liking and disliking of faculty varies from student to student because some are strict and study oriented and other like fun loving teachers but it is good that we have both types of faculties. There are 2 internal exam , one prelims exam and one university exam per year. It's of moderate level difficulty and marks are given same as how mostly government college give in same pattern. Around 5 percent fails to clear the exam.

There are various places for night life as it is in the centre of big city of Gujarat. College have its own gym , library and cafeteria. There are many other such same things outside college in nearby area. Hostel campus timings have no restriction for boys or girls they are allowed to go at whatever time they want. Girl have to mention reason of leaving campus at late night. Famous places to hang out are kamatibaug, dairy den, Laxmi villas palace, etc.
