Course Curriculum Overview
I chose BCom because I was a commerce student in my PUC, and I wanted to master in the same field. This course has shaped my knowledge on accounts and finance which has been some sort of a passion for me. Accounts, tally, finance, are the studies that are to be applied by anyone who's working with numbers, finances or in banks, account sectors etc which I'm doing currently, and it has really helped me a lot. The only improvement in this course that I seek is practical applications and workshops that would definitely help students enhance their skills.
Fees and Financial Aid
Overall, the fee structure is pretty feasible and affordable with a good quality of education. The general fees when I was studying was around 58000, the college provided scholarships for merit students and for the students from the reserved minority category who were in need of the fee relaxation. According to me the fees was affordable compared to other colleges, apart from the college fees we had to pay extra exam fees which was not too high either but between 1000-2000 only. Merit scholarship and reservation scholarship helped students to get education without much of fee pressure.
Campus Life
The college has a huge library, with varieties of books of different languages, different subjects, different genre, different objectives etc. The college conducts Annual sports day once in a year with various sports competitions organised and awarded. The college conducts one college fest every year with other intra college events for festivals and inter college events every year. The college campus is filled with extra curricular activities in every season, with internal assessments and other academic activities.
Admission
I had only applied to this college as it was close to my house. The admission process for this college is pretty simple, for a student to be eligible for this course must meet a minimum of 60% in their PUC, after which they'll be called for a counselling, upon completion of the counselling and being selected for the course, the admission procedure begins. There was no entrance exam when I joined the college in the year 2023.
Faculty
The faculty is highly approachable, they always welcome the doubts that we have regardless of asking the same doubt again and again, they still put an effort to explain us. They also acknowledge and appreciate positive initiatives taken by the students for the college and it's betterment. Students are great academically, culturally, physically. There are students who fail in academics but are great in sports, dancing, singing and other culturals in different levels and there are also students who are not good at studying somehow end up passing.
Night Life
The college library has a great library with varieties of books, journals, magazines, etc. The college doesn't have a gym yet. There's a cafeteria which is never empty, students always rush there after bunking class or in breaks. One of the famous spots near the college is Vangemara. The locality is very safe to roam around at night because it lies in main road and there are streetlights around, with vehicles roaming around at all times, with metro facility (South end metro) which is very close to college and the jayanagar police station is also pretty close to the college.
