University of Brighton Admission Requirements for Indian Applicants 2027
Brighton sets subject-specific academic thresholds for Indian applicants and requires English-language proof for every programme.
Postgraduate requirements for Indian applicants:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related subject with 55% or CGPA 5.5/10 for standard entry, rising to 60% for competitive courses like Physiotherapy (recommended)
- English test scores in IELTS, TOEFL iBT, PTE Academic or Cambridge English (verify score minimums on the official Brighton English language page)
- Credential verification through WES ICAP submitted with the application
- MA Photography, MA Fine Art and BA Architecture require a portfolio; two academic references are standard for all masters
Undergraduate requirements for Indian applicants:
- Class 12 marks of 70% to 85% depending on programme (recommended); Aeronautical Engineering and Nursing sit at the higher end
- English test minimums verified on the official English language requirements page; foundation English routes accepted
- Foundation year through Brighton International College available for applicants who do not meet direct-entry academic or English thresholds
Key insight: An IELTS waiver applies where Class 12 English marks meet the university threshold. Indian CBSE and ISC applicants scoring 70% in English are commonly considered case by case through the Brighton international admissions team.
University of Brighton Acceptance Rate 2027
Brighton University does not publish an official acceptance rate for international applicants. Third-party data places the rate at 65% (estimated), reflecting the moderately selective nature of most PG programmes.
MSc Physiotherapy, BSc Nursing and MSc Advanced Clinical Practice draw stricter selection due to placement caps and NHS-aligned pathways. Rolling admissions mean early applicants have higher chances of receiving offers before seat caps trigger for competitive programmes.
Reality check: The 65% figure reflects the overall PG offer rate. Clinical courses like Physiotherapy sit lower, closer to 30% to 40%, driven by NHS placement limits. Data Analytics and Finance masters sit close to the 65% overall average.

- There is an active student association with plenty of clubs to join as per interest.
Dislikes
- However, you don't get a lot of companies in career fairs and are unlikely to succeed in campus placements as they prioritize EU and UK regardless of what they say about accepting international students.
Campus Life
- There's lots of things- language club, sports, theater and dramatics, gym on the 5th floor of the Cockroft building.
Fees
- It was 14130 pound sterling
Likes
- I loved the course structure and the professors who were teaching the course. I also loved the fact that Brighton is such a creative and cultural city with a very positive environment.
- My course, professors, and the city. The people I met and the experiences I gained in terms of volunteering opportunities that really added to my CV.
Dislikes
- How short the course goes by. Also, the placement team can do a much better job when it comes to providing help for courses apart from business and engineering.
Overview
I thoroughly loved my college experience, it was wonderful in terms of both education and my personal development. The people I met are amazing, I love Brighton as a city and its close proximity to London.
Campus Life
Campus life is quite chill and since I was a masters student, I didn't have much time to get into too much extracurriculars or clubs. However there's wonderful clubs and they have really cool events. The campuses are very beautiful, have amazing facilities like research rooms, galleries etc.
