University of Warwick Admission Requirements for Indian Applicants 2027
Warwick admission requirements for Indian students use published country-specific equivalencies for both bachelor’s grades and English scores.
Warwick University PG Admission Requirements for Indian Students
- Bachelor’s grade (2:1 equivalent): 65% from Category 1 Indian institutions (top IITs, NITs, IIMs, Delhi, Bombay, Madras) or 60% from Category 2 institutions, as officially published for Warwick India entry
- English: IELTS 6.5 (minimum 6.0 in each component) for Band A; IELTS 7.0 (minimum 6.0 or 6.5) for Band B; IELTS 7.5 (minimum 6.5 or 7.0) for Band C; test validity 2 years and 1 month before course start
- Credential verification: WES or Warwick direct transcript check
- Programme-specific: GMAT required for the WBS MBA; CBSE Applied Mathematics is NOT accepted for Computer Science, Mathematics or Statistics programmes
Warwick University UG Admission Requirements for Indian Students
- Class 12 grade: 90% for Band A courses (A*A*A), 85% for Band B courses (AAA), 82% for ABB courses, 80% for AAB courses; CBSE or ICSE preferred
- English: IELTS 6.0 to 7.0 depending on course band; Class 12 English at 75% to 85% first attempt accepted in place of IELTS for most Band A and B courses
- UCAS application fee: GBP 28.5 (INR 3,643)
Key insight: One-skill IELTS retakes are NOT accepted at Warwick for either UG or PG. Indian applicants must sit the full test again if any component falls short, so plan the first sitting carefully and leave buffer for a second attempt before the UCAS or PG deadline.
University of Warwick Acceptance Rate 2027
Warwick does not publish a single institutional acceptance rate. The headline figure sits at 13% to 14% (estimated), derived from offer-to-enrolment data across cycles. The university officially reports an UG offer rate of 60% and a PG offer rate of 39%.
The gap between offer rate and enrolled rate reflects strong competition from LSE, UCL and Imperial for the same Indian applicant pool. WBS masters programmes run noticeably stricter cycles than the headline numbers suggest.
Reality check: Indian applicants with 65% bachelor’s and IELTS 7.0 should treat Warwick as a reach for MSc Finance and MSc Business Analytics. A clean application window, early submission and a tailored statement move the odds more than any single grade point.

Warwick stands out for its specific combination of Russell Group research intensity, a top-10 UK ranking and a self-contained campus pricing between central London peers and lower-cost northern peers. For WBS-track applicants, Warwick’s placement reach into London finance and consulting is the deciding factor.
Warwick fits Indian applicants weighing a GBP 70 to 95 lakh total investment against a median post-masters UK salary of GBP 40,000, with WBS applicants targeting GBP 45,000 to 60,000 roles in London. The two-year UK Graduate Route visa anchors payback inside 3 years for high-performing MSc Finance and MSc Business Analytics graduates.
Warwick is not the right pick for Indian applicants chasing a central London lifestyle, applicants under 60% in bachelor’s grades or those unwilling to sit a full IELTS retake. In that case, Nottingham, Leeds or Southampton offer a more flexible admissions bar at a lower list price.
University of Warwick FAQs
Ques. Does the University of Warwick accept CBSE Applied Mathematics for STEM programmes?
Ans. No, Warwick does NOT accept CBSE Applied Mathematics as a maths equivalent for Computer Science, Mathematics or Statistics programmes at either UG or PG level. Indian applicants from CBSE must have core Mathematics in Class 12 for these courses. Students with Applied Mathematics should consider adjacent routes like MSc Business Analytics or MSc Economics, which allow a wider spread of quantitative backgrounds.
Ques. What is the Warwick University MBA application fee for Indian applicants?
Ans. The Warwick direct postgraduate application fee is GBP 75 (INR 9,586) for Indian applicants, while the UCAS undergraduate fee is GBP 28.5 (INR 3,643). Both fees are non-refundable and paid online at the point of submission. The WBS MBA follows the same GBP 75 PG application fee structure, with an additional GBP 5,000 (INR 6.39 lakh) deposit required to confirm the seat after offer acceptance.
Ques. Can Indian students work part-time while studying at Warwick University?
Ans. Yes, Indian students on a UK Student Visa can work 20 hours per week during term time and full-time during Warwick vacation periods. Common part-time jobs include library assistant roles on campus, retail in Coventry city centre and Warwick’s own student ambassador programme. Earnings sit around GBP 11.44 to 15 per hour (INR 1,462 to 1,917), which helps offset weekly accommodation costs for Indian students.
Ques. How does Warwick University verify Indian academic transcripts?
Ans. Warwick accepts both WES evaluation and direct institutional verification through the Admissions Office for Indian transcripts. Indian applicants from Delhi University, Mumbai University and other mark-sheet based universities should submit official sealed transcripts plus degree certificates. WES processing takes 4 to 7 weeks, so Indian applicants should start verification at least 8 weeks before the PG deadline to avoid last-minute delays.
Ques. Are education loans from Indian banks accepted for Warwick University funding?
Ans. Yes, Warwick accepts education loan letters from major Indian banks including SBI, HDFC Credila, Axis Bank, Avanse and ICICI Bank as proof of funding for the Student Visa. The university is on the preferred-lender list of most Indian education loan providers for amounts up to INR 1 crore. Indian applicants should get the loan sanction letter dated within 31 days of the Student Visa submission for Home Office acceptance.
Ques. Does Warwick University accept IELTS Indicator or Duolingo for Indian applicants?
Ans. Warwick accepts IELTS Academic, TOEFL iBT and PTE Academic as its primary English tests, and the university does NOT accept Duolingo English Test for standard admission. IELTS Indicator (online) is accepted only for conditional offers and must be replaced with a UKVI-approved IELTS Academic before Student Visa submission. Indian applicants should book UKVI IELTS from the first attempt to avoid duplicate testing fees.
Ques. Which Indian institutions qualify as Category 1 for Warwick admissions?
Ans. Category 1 Indian institutions include all IITs, IIMs, NITs, BITS Pilani, Delhi University colleges, Mumbai University colleges, Madras University and other Section 2(f) UGC-recognised institutions with established research output. Applicants from these institutions need 65% for the Warwick 2:1 equivalent at PG level. Category 2 covers other recognised Indian universities, where the requirement moves to 60% for the same 2:1 equivalence.
Ques. What is the Warwick University refund policy for Indian students who withdraw before enrolment?
Ans. Warwick refunds the full tuition deposit minus a GBP 200 (INR 25,562) administrative fee if the Indian student withdraws before the course start date due to Student Visa refusal with official UKVI documentation. For voluntary withdrawals after enrolment, Warwick applies a sliding refund scale with no refund typically available after week 4 of term 1. The GBP 5,000 WBS MBA deposit is non-refundable except in Student Visa refusal cases.

- Diverse set of mathematicians specialising in various fields.
- Scenic campus with forest trails and serenity.
- Cannot ask for a better education academically, on par with the cutting edge of the field.
Dislikes
- Limited and expensive food options.
- Loneliness and isolation can become tough to handle.
- There is no placement in the British system, there is support, but you are basically on your own when job hunting.
Campus Life
- The college has two main campuses. The main one has the business school, arts, engineering, mathematics, economics, etc. The second one is specifically for medical students and life sciences, a 20 min walk from the main one.
- There is a library, gymnasium, 24-hour helpline and campus safety officers. There are a few bars and eateries around. There is the Warwick Arts Centre, where a lot of performances and exhibitions are held.
- For a fee you can join the sports clubs for sports like badminton, squash, swimming, tennis, etc. of course you can enrol for a gym membership as well.
Fees
- Tuition fees, 2-year MSc Mathematics (2021): 30,000 GBP per year, charged semester-wise; instalments may differ depending on year and course.
- Accommodation fees, Sherborne University accommodation (2021): approx. 14,000 GBP per year, differs a lot depending on where you stay.
- Monthly expenses: anywhere from 150 to 300 GBP, depending on travel, food, events, etc.

- Academic Structure is concrete with seminars, lectures and asynchronous tasks
- Scenery is beautiful with flowers and trees and usually snow.
- Closed campus which is very safe
Dislikes
- Food catering is not present
- Fire alarm checking every week early morning
- For my course very few electives in first year
Campus Life
- 2 campuses—Central campus and Westwood campus. Campus includes a huge library, which is available online as well. The sports and wellness hub includes a huge gym, rock climbing wall, tennis courts, basketball courts, indoor cricket floors, yoga studio, rowing studio, swimming pools, etc. Warwick health center is also only 10 minutes by walking. You must register yourself before arriving to be allotted your personal GP.
- Campus societies organize events almost every 2 weeks, from club nights to sundowners to balls and boiler rooms. The student union holds weekly events at the on-campus clubs like the terrace bar and the copper rooms.
Fees
- Tuition fees – 32,000 pounds yearly
- Accommodation fees – 9,000 pounds (first year dorm)
- Fees can be paid at any time or in instalments. Advance payment is an option.
- Estimated monthly expenses: 800-900 pounds, largely dependent on lifestyle, as I cannot cook. More expenses of mine are on food. Buses are very cheap, only 2 pounds per trip, whereas Ubers and cabs are very expensive. Regular events such as club nights or sundowners cost 10-20 pounds.

- I really liked how diverse Warwick is, there are students from all over the world which give students the opportunity to engage with people from different backgrounds and learn about their cultures.
- It’s a massive 720 acres campus, felt like a small student city itself where one can do so much. There’s cafes, restaurants, pubs, sports complex, theatre etc everything within the same campus so it became super easy to socialise and make friends.
- There are 13 different accommodations to choose from, they all have different characteristics for example private washrooms, shared washrooms, small rooms, big rooms etc, basically a place for everyone based on your preferences. They also allocate your accommodate based on your personality by making you fill out a quick personality questionnaire which I think is a nice thing you do. For example, some people prefer party hostels which some prefer quiet ones.
Dislikes
- It’s an expensive place to study, the tuition fees can be quite exorbitant plus the living expenses on campus are quite high. Sometimes it can be a bit difficult to afford
- The wifi on campus used to buffer a lot and caused a lot of problems especially when I was in first year. I wish they had better wifi throughout campus
- The coursework and the grading can be quite intense sometimes. Given it’s a highly competitive university, it can be a bit difficult to understand the coursework and score high grades. The professors were quite strict in terms of grading assignments and didn’t give high scores too easily unless it was an exceptional piece of work.
Campus Life
- The uni only has one main campus of 720 acres and one medical school campus which is connected to the main campus. There was a 24*7 library, arts centre, sports complex including swimming, gym, tennis, basketball, cricket pitches, pubs, restaurants, cafes, bubble tea shop, grocery store etc.
- The university has more than 250 student run societies and clubs which any student could join. They ranged from academic societies like accounting society, physics society etc to random societies like animals society, taylor swift society etc. One could buy the membership of these societies and attend their events, most of them were free. One could also buy the sports membership and play whenever they want to play. Eurovision was one major event which happens in May every year.
Fees
- The annual tuition changes every year, the website of the university says the updated tuition and accommodation fees every year. When I started my tuition fee per annum was around d 27000 GBP and it did increase a bit every year. You have the option of paying in in one go or you can do it in three instalments, one in September, one in January and one in April.
- Accommodation fees varies on the type of accommodation you choose, there are 13 different accommodations at Warwick and the fee structure differs for every single one of them and it changes every month. What i paid in September 2021 is significantly different than what the current fees is so it's highly advised to check the website for the updated price.
- Monthly expenses depend on the individual really, I used to spend around 150-200 GBP per month on groceries, transport, going out etc. It's very subjective so it used to change every month because in some months I used to go out more than the others so there's no fixed or average figure.

- The campus and green cover, especially the different forests and walkways
- The facilities associated with my department
- The classroom amenities
Dislikes
- Less no. of bikes to roam within the campus
- The area allocated to Life science department (it could have been bigger)
- The in-campus grocery store could have been cheaper
Campus Life
- Warwick has mainly two campuses, the main one in Coventry (around 750 acres) and the other business school campus located in The Shard, London.
- Main campus has all the facilities you can think of: library, sports complex, shopping centres, cafe's, bars, and a hospital. There are a lot of fests happening all through the year. I do not know the exact names because as a Master's student, one doesn't get a lot of spare time to engage in them. Although for bachelor students, Warwick is fun and heaven!
- The sports complex houses all major sports including squash, swimming pool, mountain climbing, badminton courts, basket ball courts etc. It is the biggest university sports complex in the midlands.
Fees
- My fees was 29,950 GBP in year 2022. The fees are charges yearly, I'm not ware of any breakdown in these, as it is only mentioned as tuition fees. Although, you get the option to pay in quarterly installments.
- I lived off campus during my university. My monthly expenses ranged from 700 to 900 GBP. This includes accommodation 420 GBP, Food and groceries 150-200 GBP, Travel 80-100 GBP and miscellaneous (leisure).

Likes
- The campus is huge and lovely to walk around in the evenings
- On-campus accommodations have nice diverse students living
- The professors and career coaches are really helpful
Dislikes
- Probably that they have online lectures and then smaller workshops
- There are just too many south-asian students feeling like I don't see a huge diverse crowd (But that's the case of any UK university)
- Time just flies by in self-studying, assignments, lectures, workshops and then internships and extra-curriculars
Campus Life
- As far as I know, Warwick has one campus here in Coventry, and the other is at the Shard in London.
- The campus in Coventry has everything: a five-story library, a huge sports and wellness hub (with the gym), and a medical as well. Every society has their own festival, so a lot of events keep happening every time on campus.

- I like the faculty members and the way they approach the students .
- Our college will support in all aspects like games ,cultural activities and even also in studies .
- When we come to studies or designing the app or something our faculty members will help us. And college supports all technical clubs .
Dislikes
- As we are migrating from one to another country first few days we have to adjust with some food .
- Weather conditions and climate these are the two main things we have to adjust .
- Nothing much every thing I like in this college .
Campus Life
- Our college has only one campus and it has branches in schools. There are 3 branches or 3 campuses.
- Everything is available in the college; we have more than 3 libraries on our campus.
- Every semester, our college members will conduct sports, and winners and runners are awarded some prize or some prize money.
- There are many fests conducted on our campus, like the peace fest, the innovation fest, the Warwick Film Festival, etc.
- Clubs are taken by professors and seniors. Like GDDG, DATA ANALYSIS, AI, and others, these clubs play a major role in developing our soft skills and technical skills. In every fest, we enjoy extra-curricular activities; in every fest, we participate in cultural activities.
- If we perform well in cultural activities, we may have chances to take part in some competitions, etc.
Likes
- The infrastructure of the university is amazing such that no two building would look the same. Despite that, every departments (WMG, WBS etc) facility are very unique and specific to those. The lake closer to WMG buildings are for all students of Warwick but sometimes you feel connected to it since you have classes every day, you see all 4 seasons of weather occurring by the trees as they start to change colour from red to yellow, wither off and grow again.
- The centre of the campus will always be my favourite where all events, food stalls happen every week. Also to note, there will be always something interesting happening every day – could be small art gallery, dance festival et.
- Networking events – As a Warwick student, I am lucky to attends many networking events with various companies of different sizes and different roles. During the induction period, networking sessions happen every day for roughly 1.5 months and still continues to happen later but as in weekly once.
Dislikes
- Certain modules (SFEO), I had replacement teacher teaching that module and wasn’t happy to how the first batch was taught. Though, every teacher teaches differently, SFEO was more of one way communication, a lecture where they was no interactive session at all.
- Modules likes BDAI were taught as literal lecture with 70 slides per day, no interaction between teacher and student. Despite that, there was no prerequisites for the module which meant that everything taught made zero sense to most of the students. It was so advanced directly focusing on advanced machine learning and algorithms. I wish it was more structures.
- I really wished the program I studied was given a placement year option since the program itself is very generic as you cover all subjects on the surface level. For example - Compared to people who do specialization in supply chain and studying supply chain on very basic level plays a significant role while applying for jobs.
Campus Life
- In terms of campus at uni, I believe there are quite a lot of buildings – Business School, Engineering, Medicine, Law, Social Science, Arts etc. They are unlike other universities which are usually spread across the city. It is all located in one massive area but divided by departments.
- There is a massive library at uni with 9 floors – accessible to all students, a big sports field on either side of university one being a sport building which has beautiful swimming pool, squash areas, a huge badminton areas where 12-15 courts are available, gym, rock climbing as well. On the other side, there is big sports field for athletic activities.
- There are n no of clubs – anything you might thing is available there from calisthenics, gymnastics, book reading, arts, gaming club and so many more.
- I can’t remember any particular facility as I have been involved in a lot of cultural festival than sports.
Fees
- The tuition fee was £30,000 for the entire course. It can be paid in installments or in 3 instalments every 4 months. I didn’t stay at the Uni hostel so my accommodation was around the city centre, which was a little cheaper compared to the hostel.
- Coventry is a cheaper place to live so I would add about £6,000-8,000 per year, including expenses, if you live in the city centre as a student.
- Rent: £600 per month
- Transportation: £34 (monthly pass)
- Groceries: £300 per month

- It is a very diverse university. So you meet new kinds of people every day, and it is never a trouble to find fellow Indians. - The academics push you mentally. They foster overall growth.
Dislikes
- It is a campus university and not in a big city such as London, which can be a downside to some people.
Overview
I chose the University of Warwick as it is very prestigious and highly ranked for my course. My overall Uni experience has been a very good learning opportunity not just about academics but also about life skills.
Campus Life
Campus life is really amazing and very fun. There are a multitude of societies one can join. These societies hold multiple events every day. There is not one boring moment in Warwick.

- I was offered admission in a few other universities but I chose WBS because it is highly ranked in the world. It is in the top 20 business schools and the facilities at WBS are unmatched. The business school has many accreditations and also offers career service with its own career service portal. The university has a very high reputation and the teaching standards are peak. It really challenges me to push my limits and it offers the perfect inoculum for growth be it academic, professional or personal.
- The infrastructure, ambience, diversity, standards and reputation that we feel at this place is really awesome and it makes you want to work hard and bring out the best possible version of you. The challenges are really painstaking but the fruit of it is really worth it and prepares you for a life beyond campus life.
Dislikes
- It is quite expensive to even live a meagre life here. It can be financially challenging and the university is quite far away from major cities like London and Manchester. Getting medical attention in the UK is really challenging and is a big hurdle.
Overview
The course is very challenging and managing all of it far away from home really makes you come out of your comfort zone and do your best. The cohort is very diverse and enables you to make friends and acquaintances all over the world and let you understand their perspectives and thoughts. I am in deep awe of the infrastructure and standards set by the university and the very beautiful campus set in an English country side. Every subject is challenging and requires you to give your best. The faculty is really wonderful and so is the curriculum.
Campus Life
The campus is extremely huge with all facilities you could ask for. The wifi is fast and available mostly all around the campus. There is a top class sports center which you can access with payment and the library is huge and modern. There are ample learning spaces all around the campus which you can make use of. The campus is really safe during all times and it also has its own bus interchange that connects it to nearby towns and cities. Warwick also offers numerous amount of clubs and societies which you can join to make the most out of your campus life. Warwick offers student well being services to keep you emotionally strong and heard. The University of Warwick has premium research facilities that makes it one of the most sought after campuses in Europe.

- I decided to come to University of Warwick as it is one of the most reputable universities out there. It is ranked 4th for Economics and that was deal sealer.
- It's diversity and inclusion of people from all cultures. It's helps me grow in my own space and provides enough opportunity to thrive. The classes are divided into smaller cohort which helps in better understanding of important concepts and problems.
Dislikes
- The time-frame for each module is really short and sometimes things feel a bit rushed, but I think it is a general problem for all Universities here. As, we get less time and simply we are not used such fast paced study back in India.
Overview
Till now the experience has been great and I have been enjoying my time here.
Campus Life
There are a lot of clubs be it sports cultural or academics. We can easily access any facility. In spite of most of them being paid there are a lot of free sessions provided by many clubs. The research, library, WIFI and all other facilities are really smooth and up to the mark.
