It is not the pick for students set on London campuses or lower-cost UK degrees. Applicants prioritising tuition savings or larger Indian student networks should compare the University of Manchester instead.

- No help in post study recruitemenent just presence of resources .
- No help when it comes career support specially in research fields .
Campus Life
- The campus is spread along the beautiful city, especially in the old town, which feels dreamy. The buildings are mostly accesible and the infrastructure is heritage from out but extremely modern from within. Lab facilities are well equipped, with only a few extracurricular activities, such as weekly socials and ceilidhs at the end of the semester.
- The university offers over 100 clubs that one can join. Welcome week is never miss event and is a great way to begin social and university life. The university has its own complex of gym, 24/7 main library, and each school has its own personal libraries, numerous cafes, shops around campuses, and lively bustling university areas.
Fees
- 36000 GBP was my tuition for a full year and included all the visits, lab fee, and dissertation expences nothing was paid post that.
Likes
- Faculty, accommodation facilities, student network, diverse crowd, city and university location in general is very green and beautiful
Dislikes
- Fee structure for international students and facilities given do not match; expensive food outlets within campus, lack of student- teacher interaction beyond acadmics ; post study career support is limited
Campus Life
- Everything was above average.
- There were clubs for specific regional students as well.
- The arts and aesthetic club was also popular
- The library is excellent.
- The sports room was average- didn't participate much.
Fees
- £22000 per year for me in 2019. But I was on full funded scholarship.

Fees
- My tuition fees were around £26000, and except for this, my accommodation fees were around £12000 for the whole year, and food expenses per month were around £600.

- Professors are people who are at the top of their fields. Their knowledge is exceptional and we get to learn a lot.
- The infrastructure is amazing is very motivating for the students.
Dislikes
- Very minimal or non existent extra curricular activities for MSc (not uni's fault technically because the students will be so busy they never get time to focus on stuff other than academics)
Campus Life
- There are numerous clubs and events taking place, but for MSc students, they often lack the time to focus on them due to their busy academic schedules and coursework. No summer vacation either, because we will be working on the dissertation. So it's a jam-packed 1-year course.
Fees
- It was around 35000 GBP
Likes
- Faculty is highly acclaimed for research.
- Emphasis is a lot on self learning.
Campus Life
- Lots of sports activities and clubs are available. The Central Library is amazing.
Fees
- 20000 gbp for the course
Likes
- Easily approachable Professors
- Professors won't judge you based on your knowledge
- Coursework driven learning - making the learning more interactive and hands-on
Dislikes
- A lot of companies do visit the Uni, however, it's more of a pool campus setup. Hence, there is no assurance that you will get placed via campus.
- Extracurricular exposure is only for Undergrads
Campus Life
- No. Of campus: The whole of Scotland has our campus (5 major campuses)
- Used to have a lot of events across the year with so much fun outside academics too
Fees
- It was £20,000 during my time

Likes
- Being one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in the UK and a part of the Russell Group, the University of Edinburgh offers a range of services while withholding its traditions.
- The course is well crafted but very intensive, more than most courses. It helps develop your in-depth knowledge on every paper, thus, in the field of IHRM.
- We are also offered services like career development and personal development which help us in shaping our CV and job applications as well as in our well-being
Dislikes
- At times there can be a feeling of burnout because of the intensive course.
- I do not hate anything specific about the University. I am happy with my decision to pursue my MSc here, but there can be a feeling of loneliness at times.
- Unlike most universities in India, the marking system is very strict. A distinction is considered to be 70% here. So, achieving marks in the 80s and 90s is a distant dream for most.
Campus Life
- The University hosts several festivals throughout the year. It kicks off with Welcome
- Week, during which students can meet different societies and groups. Students are also given several freebies, and the societies mentioned above host numerous welcome parties throughout the week, ideal for socialising with other students.
- Throughout the semesters, one also enjoys a range of socialising events as well- both professional and social. These include networking sessions, seminars, potlucks as well as fun gatherings such as Halloween, Bollywood nights, Football screenings, Ceilidhs, Christmas Dinners and more.
- The University of Edinburgh has several campuses spread across the city. Of them, the recently opened Future’s Institute is acclaimed to be the most beautiful campus in the world by some of the websites. Other notable campuses are the Business School,
- Campus of the School of Religious Studies, Old College, King’s Building, Holyrood Campus and others. Each campus offers its unique environment.
- Every campus has its library, café and one of them has its lounge as well. The
- Pleasance and the Potterow are the two locations of the university equipped with student facilities like the gym, club rooms, café, bar, gaming areas and additional student services.
Fees
- The tuition fees amount to £29,900, which is divided into three instalments, payable each semester. Accommodation costs are £8,932, with payment spread over four instalments, typically due every three months.
- Additionally, living expenses can vary, typically ranging between £200 and £400 per month. This will depend on personal choices, such as how often you dine out or travel. If you wish to reduce your costs, there are ways to manage your spending more efficiently.

Likes
- Flexibility in course selections
- World class library, lecture halls and other buildings
- The surroundings of the university and the city of Edinburgh are very beautiful
Dislikes
- The fees is on the higher end
- The course is a bit intensive and the pressure could be really high during assignment periods
- During peak times, the library would become overcrowded and it's difficult to find a seat
Campus Life
-
There are 2 campuses: George Square campus and Kings' Building campus. My course was based on the George Square campus.
Since it was a one-year course and it was very intensive, I didn't have too much time to attend tests and attend club events.
There is ample opportunity for sports enthusiasts. - The university has its own gym - Pleasance which was world class facilities, indoor badminton courts, basketball courts, squash courts, etc.
Fees
- The fee was £35,900 for a year for the tuition.
- For the accommodation, it was around £4500 for one year.
- I paid the fees in three instalments: 50%, 25%, 25%. There were different options to choose how you want to pay it, some people even paid everything in 1 installment at the beginning.
- Monthly expenses :-
- Transportation: £56 a month for the bus card
- I have already mentioned the rent (accommodation) above.
- Groceries and eating out: £200-300
- Others: £250

Likes
- Range of dissertation subjects to choose from and work on, giving hands on exposure to research techniques.
- Faculty experience and knowledge.
- The vast opportunity to engage with activities.
Dislikes
- Limited time during labwork to actually gain an insight into everything.
- Limited role of the university in helping bag a job.
- Slight scope for improvement in some coursework.
Campus Life
- The University is a city University so it has multiple buildings spread all over the entire city of Edinburgh. It won't be possible to provide a list of locations as it is massive. There is a vast range of facilities including various study hubs, libraries, gym centres, sports centres and so on. Edinburgh Fringe Festival is the biggest festival that happens in Edinburgh and also takes place in the University buildings.
Fees
- Tuition fees- 28200, Accommodation fees- 8045.6.
- There are multiple ways to pay the fee. I pay the tuition fee in 3 installments and the accommodation fee in 10 installments. Other living expenses (excluding the above) would be around 400-500 GBP at max, but usually lower (around 300-400).
Likes
- I like how supportive the university is and the social life. Also, the faculty is great.
Dislikes
- The exam schedule could be improved a bit as it can get very hectic.
Overview
I chose Edinburgh because I have been here before and l love the city. Plus, the university has great resources and a fascinating history. The faculty is renowned and the research put is also great.
Campus Life
The campus infrastructure is exceptional. There are a lot of societies and sports clubs to choose from and the library is great and open 24/7. I was part of the diagnostic society which is a dialectics or debate society but very unique.
