Having three colleges that are house to fourteen schools, Bangor University is a large institution located on the north coast of Wales. Over 10,000 students make the student body of this university.

As many as 300 undergraduate and 100 graduate courses are offered, giving its students a lot of variety to choose from.

  • For undergraduate courses, students may apply either through the university’s online portal or UCAS.
  • Applications for postgraduate courses are accepted through the university’s online portal only.
  • Furthermore, international applicants may seek help from agents registered with the university to complete the application.
  • Bangor University accepts applications on a rolling basis, however, students are recommended to apply by June end for September intake and by October end for January intake.
  • While most courses are taught in English, some undergraduate courses are taught in Welsh.

Bangor University International Admissions

Every year Bangor sees students coming from a variety of countries which amount to be 17% of its student body.

  • You can start by applying at the university’s admission portal or through UCAS (Universities and Colleges Admissions Services). Bangor also accepts admissions from various agents on behalf of the students.
  • UCAS gives you the option to apply for five courses at a particular university. The fees and other details can be found on https://www.ucas.com/
  • While you are at it, you will be required to submit a few documents by particular deadlines failing to do which your application will get rejected

English Proficiency Requirements

This is one of the additional requirements that international students have to meet to apply. Official score reports of either Trinity ISE or IELTS are required as proof of English proficiency for an applicant who do not come from a country with English as its first language.

You may be exempted from the IELTS requirement if you provide other certifications, such as Peterson's, Cambridge English Language Assessment.

Admission Requirements: All applicants must fulfill the admission requirements as discussed below.

  • For direct entry to 1st year- School leaving certificate equivalent to British school-leaving qualification (A-levels or International baccalaureate).
  • For direct entry to 2nd year of 3rd or 4th-year undergraduate degree- A transfer is possible if the program undertaken at any other university (in the UK or overseas) is equivalent to 1st-year studies of Bangor University. For this, an official certified transcript detailing the study undertaken till a mentioned date.
  • For mature students with industry experience- Employer references signed by the HR department or senior manager in the company, and a detailed CV including career history and job responsibilities.

  • For MBA courses no GMAT scores or work experience is essential
