De Montfort University, based in Leicester, England was established in 1992. DMU offers undergraduate and postgraduate, full-time, and part-time courses through their four faculties, i.e., Faculty of Art, Design, and Humanities; Faculty of Business and Law; Faculty of Health and Life Sciences; and Faculty of Technology (comprising Computing Sciences and Engineering). De Montfort University has intake seasons in September and January. However, not all programs offer admissions during both intakes. Undergraduate applicants using UCAS applications must apply by January 15. Currently, applications for September intake are being accepted.
De Montfort University has an international student population of 2,700 students from over 130 countries. De Montfort requires all their international applicants to meet the university’s minimum IELTS requirement of 5.5 or equivalent, with a minimum of 5.5 in every component.
However, in the light that the applicant fails to meet these requirements, the university offers them a pre-session English course to be studied immediately before entering the first/second stage of the chosen program. The specifications are as follows.

As an international student, to reside and study in the UK, the applicant must have the Tier 4 visa, which allows the visa holder to pursue courses longer than 6 months. De Montfort University issues a CAS for the students requiring a Tier 4 visa, upon getting accepted. When the applicant’s Tier 4 visa application is approved they will be provided with a sticker in their passport that will allow them to travel to the UK – valid for 30 days. Once they arrive in the UK, they’ll have to collect a Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) card, valid for the entire length of their stay in the UK. BRP must be collected within 10 days of arriving in the UK.

De Montfort University sends admission decisions to students via email. A student may receive an unconditional offer, conditional offer, alternative course offer or the application will be rejected. Students who receive conditional offers will still have to fulfill additional requirements until then their seat in the university will be reserved. Some students might not meet the eligibility criteria for the program they have applied for but may be eligible for another program. In such cases, applicants will receive an offer for another course.
