Campus

The University of Lincoln also accepts Cambridge English, Cambridge International Examinations (CIE), and Edexcel IGCSE, country-specific high school English language qualifications (in place of IELTS 6.0), and bachelor's degree from some English-speaking countries.

Visa and CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance of Studies) Information

To apply for a visa, applicants have to:

  • Apply for a chosen course at the University of Lincoln International Study Centre.
  • Receive an offer of a place on the course.
  • Send appropriate paperwork to be checked by the University of Lincoln’s Admissions team or by applicant’s Student Enrolment Adviser.
  • Pay CAS fee and deposit.
  • Receive a Certificate of Acceptance for Studies (CAS). The deposit fee is 2,000 GBP and the CAS fee is 235 GBP.
  • Thereafter, applicants can go ahead and apply for a visa (Tier 4 general student visa). Applicants will need to show proof of enough money to pay for the studies, accommodation, and other expenses while in the UK.
  • The applicant may also be required to attend a credibility interview.
  • You will be contacted by UK Visas and Immigration to tell you whether or not your visa application has been successful.

For students who require a visa to study in the UK, the UK Visas and Immigration Office will require you to demonstrate that you have access to at least £1,015 per month for your living costs. To help you plan your finances, the information below is an approximate guide to some living costs: 

  • In 2019/2020 accommodation options ranged from around £70 a week up to £300 a week. 
  • Student gym memberships at our Sports Centre were £18 a month in 2018/2019. • Food typically costs £130 – £200 a month depending on tastes 
  • A mobile phone sim is around £15 per month. Free Wi-Fi is available on campus.

Financial Aid

  • The university several country-based scholarships to high-achieving postgraduate students from countries like India, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Turkey, Pakistan, and Egypt, and Africa as a whole. These scholarships are valued at 5,000 GBP.
  • Through the George Major Bursaries, the university provides bursaries to students with disabilities.
  • Specific scholarships are awarded to self-funding international students.
  • Financial aid open to international students include grants, scholarships, student jobs, and graduate fellowships

    THE LIFE OF AN INTERNATIONAL STUDENT

    Since I belong from a science background I always wanted to pursue a science degree. After going through the process I selected the University of Lincoln. It is the cheapest University among my options. And is also near to my rented location. The application fee for the university was submitted online along with £20.


    Course Curriculum - 

    The program aims to develop the analytical and practical skills required to prepare us for a wide range of science-related careers. At the university, I am getting a chance to study an integrate core chemistry disciplines with advanced topics aligned to the major scientific challenges of the 21st Century. These include nanoscience for new materials and devices, the chemistry-biology interface for drug discovery, nuclear chemistry, etc.
