Master of Science [MSc] (Business Analytics)
Field of Study:
$45,220 /Yr
University of Nottingham Master of Science in Business, Analytics and AI (Artificial Intelligence) is a 12-month, full-time degree taught at Jubilee Campus in Nottingham. September 2027 entry requires a 2:1 degree, including a 2:1 quantitative module, and charges international tuition of £34,000 (INR 43.20 Lakhs). For Indian applicants, the equivalence is 60% to 70%, or cumulative grade point average (CGPA) 6.0 to 7.0 on 10, depending on university tier.
The renamed programme combines Python or R, database technologies, machine learning, visualisation and leadership of analytics projects. Teaching uses Neo-demographic Laboratory for Analytics in Business (N/LAB) relationships, while a 60-credit summer project tests whether students can turn analysis into defensible recommendations. It best suits graduates with quantitative preparation but without substantial previous study of business analytics.
- N/LAB maintains live partnerships with more than 20 organisations across four continents, giving the curriculum a direct industry context.
- Business School students can pursue Microsoft and Systems, Applications and Products (SAP) certifications alongside the degree.
- The integrated Accelerated Career Leader Programme adds career planning, employer research and interview preparation to the academic timetable.
Current Admission Status
Applications for the September 2027 intake are Not Yet Open. International student deadline: Expected 3 August 2027, based on the recurring prior-cycle schedule.
The university has published the intake but has not confirmed its opening date or final 2027 deadline. Indian applicants should prepare documents and monitor the official postgraduate deadline page before submitting.

Nottingham Business Analytics Fees and Living Costs 2027
The confirmed 2027-28 international tuition is £34,000 (INR 43.20 Lakhs) for the full-time MSc. The fee covers the 12-month programme, while living expenses and unpriced personal study equipment remain separate.
September 2027 fee: The table uses the exact international rate published for this full-time Business School programme.
| Cost item | GBP | INR | Applicant meaning |
|---|---|---|---|
| International tuition | £34,000 | INR 43.20 Lakhs | Confirmed gross tuition for the complete 12-month MSc |
Source: University of Nottingham Business, Analytics and AI MSc course page, 2027 entry.
All INR conversions in the article use a conversion rate of GBP 1 = INR 127.06 as of 23 October 2026. Rates fluctuate daily, verify before applying.
The university recommends access to a suitable laptop and notes that students may buy personal books, but it publishes no course-specific amount for either item. Therefore, the confirmed tuition should form the fixed budget base, with a separate contingency for equipment and exchange-rate movement.
Cost of Living in Nottingham for Business Analytics Students
The university estimates £800 to £1,200 (INR 1.02 to INR 1.52 Lakhs) monthly, including accommodation, food and transport. Its combined estimate should not be split into invented rent, groceries or travel amounts.
| Expense | Period | GBP | INR |
|---|---|---|---|
| Official combined living estimate | Monthly | £800 to £1,200 | INR 1.02 to INR 1.52 Lakhs |
| Calculated combined living total | 12 months | £9,600 to £14,400 | INR 12.20 to INR 18.30 Lakhs |
The calculated gross all-in budget is £43,600 to £48,400 (INR 55.40 to INR 61.50 Lakhs). It adds £34,000 tuition to 12 months of the university’s £800 to £1,200 monthly living estimate, without adding visa costs.
The visa maintenance requirement is a separate proof-of-funds test, not Nottingham’s forecast of actual spending. Families should budget with the higher living estimate when rent certainty matters, then hold visa funds independently until the required evidence period ends.

ROI reality: The gross academic and living commitment reaches INR 61.50 Lakhs at the upper official estimate, so funding should not depend on unconfirmed employment income.
Nottingham Business Analytics Admission 2027
Admission requires a United Kingdom (UK) 2:1 equivalent in any discipline plus that standard in at least one quantitative module. The programme excludes applicants who have already studied significant business analytics, making subject fit as important as the overall grade.
September 2027 academic standard: Indian thresholds vary by the university tier assigned by Nottingham.
| Requirement | Official standard | Indian applicant interpretation |
|---|---|---|
| Bachelor’s degree | 2:1 in any discipline | Recognised degree from an institution on Nottingham’s country list |
| Tier 1 Indian university | UK 2:1 equivalent | 60% or CGPA 6.0 on 10 |
| Tier 2 Indian university | UK 2:1 equivalent | 65% or CGPA 6.5 on 10 |
| Tier 3 Indian university | UK 2:1 equivalent | 70% or CGPA 7.0 on 10 |
| Quantitative preparation | 2:1 in at least one quantitative module | Highlight graded mathematics, statistics, econometrics, programming or comparable analysis |
| Prior subject exposure | No significant previous business analytics study | Explain how the MSc extends rather than duplicates earlier coursework |
A transcript should make the qualifying quantitative module easy to identify because the course page treats it as a separate condition. Applicants from unrelated degrees can qualify, but they need evidence of numerical readiness and a clear reason for changing direction.
English Language Proficiency
The course requires International English Language Testing System (IELTS) 6.0 overall with 5.5 in every element, or an accepted equivalent. Nottingham publishes the revised Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) scale after January 2026, so applicants should not self-convert older scores.
| English route | Required result | Important condition |
|---|---|---|
| International English Language Testing System (IELTS) | 6.0 overall | No element below 5.5 |
| TOEFL internet-based test after January 2026 | 4.5 overall | No element below 4.0 |
| Pearson Test of English Academic, United Kingdom Visas and Immigration | 65 overall | No element below 59 |
| Central Board of Secondary Education or Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations Standard XII English | 70% | State-board English is not accepted for this waiver route |
- Use the CBSE or CISCE route only when the board and score appear exactly in the university’s published Indian equivalency policy.
- For a TOEFL test after January 2026, submit the published 1.0 to 6.0 scale result without self-converting from the older 120-point scale.
- Complete testing before the application opens if a language result will prevent the admissions team from confirming an unconditional offer.
The academic fit is deliberately balanced: the course wants quantitative evidence, yet it also seeks students who still need the full analytics curriculum. A strong application should connect one assessed numerical module to the programme’s Python, data management and predictive analytics sequence.
Student perspective
One Business Analytics alumna said faculty encouraged questions and emphasised foundations in her student review. This individual observation suggests that active participation matters when moving from a non-analytics degree into technical modules.
These comments are anecdotal and do not replace official University of Nottingham data.
Tip for Indian students: Meeting the overall percentage is insufficient without a 2:1-equivalent quantitative module, so identify that module and its grade prominently in the transcript evidence.
Nottingham Business Analytics Application 2027
The September 2027 intake is announced but its application opening and final international deadline remain unconfirmed. Nottingham offers only this live intake and advises international applicants to allow enough time for visa processing.
Forward-looking timing: The expected deadline below is derived from the university’s recurring standard September schedule and is not a confirmed 2027 date.
| Milestone | 2027 position | Applicant action |
|---|---|---|
| Expected international deadline | Expected 3 August 2027 | Verify the date in the live portal before relying on it |
| Decision timing | University aims to decide within six weeks | Apply earlier when an offer is needed for funding or visa work |
The expected deadline is date-only because Nottingham has not published a portal cutoff time or timezone for 2027. Once the university confirms a timed deadline, its UK-time portal cutoff controls and should be converted to the corresponding Indian Standard Time.
Application Documents and Selection Strategy
Applicants must upload clear degree certificates and current or final transcripts before assessment can proceed. The general taught-master’s process may also request two recent references and a personal statement, depending on the course configuration shown in the portal.
- Annotate the transcript or supporting statement so the admissions reader can find the required quantitative module and its grade immediately.
- Explain why earlier study does not duplicate substantial business analytics content, then connect the MSc to a specific analytical decision problem.
- Keep signed references on institutional letterhead ready because any requested reference must be dated within two years of the application.
- Submit before any scholarship requiring an offer, since the university’s six-week decision aim can otherwise compress the funding window.
The course page does not publish a mandatory interview, Graduate Management Admission Test or Graduate Record Examination requirement for 2027 entry. Applicants should strengthen the assessed academic record and written rationale instead of submitting an unrequested management-test score.
Deadline limitation
The 3 August 2027 date is an expected planning marker, not a confirmed deadline. Recheck the university’s live deadline page before paying for tests, requesting final references or scheduling visa work.
Application tip: Build the transcript-led file before the portal opens, because the quantitative-module condition can be assessed only when its content and grade are unmistakable.
Nottingham Business Analytics Scholarships 2027
Eligible international students starting this MSc in 2027 receive an automatic £3,000 (INR 3.81 Lakhs) tuition scholarship. It requires no separate scholarship application, but funding conditions restrict who can receive it.
Confirmed 2027 award: The published value and eligibility below apply to full-time, UK campus-based postgraduate taught students.
| Award | Value | INR | Eligibility and route |
|---|---|---|---|
| International Postgraduate Masters Scholarship | £3,000 toward tuition | INR 3.81 Lakhs | Automatic for eligible self-funded international students starting a qualifying full-time master’s in 2027 |
The calculated tuition after the automatic award is £31,000 (INR 39.39 Lakhs), using £34,000 (INR 43.20 Lakhs) gross tuition minus £3,000 (INR 3.81 Lakhs). This is a transparent calculation rather than a separately published net fee.
Adding the official 12-month living estimate gives an award-adjusted planning budget of £40,600 to £45,400 (INR 51.59 to INR 57.69 Lakhs). Applicants must still fund the gross fee if their sponsorship or another University award makes them ineligible for the automatic scholarship.
- The automatic award requires international fee status, self-funding and no other University award or external organisational sponsorship.
- The 2026 Developing Solutions award covered 50% or 100% of tuition, but its 2027 terms and deadline remain unpublished after official checks.
- Do not calculate a 2027 net fee from the older Developing Solutions percentages until the university publishes a cycle-correct award page.
The scholarship decision is therefore two-stage: first confirm automatic-award eligibility, then monitor whether Developing Solutions publishes a 2027 round open to India. A loan plan should remain viable with only the confirmed £3,000 (INR 3.81 Lakhs) reduction.

Scholarship reality: Only the automatic INR 3.81 Lakhs award is confirmed for 2027, so applicants should not base affordability on an unpublished competitive scholarship.
Nottingham Business Analytics Salary 2027
Nottingham publishes no Business, Analytics and AI cohort salary or offer rate. Its closest official benchmark is the £38,931 (INR 49.47 Lakhs) average starting salary for Business School postgraduates in the 2022-23 Higher Education Statistics Agency cohort.
Evidence scope: The salary table is school-level evidence, not a promised or typical outcome for this MSc.
| Evidence scope | Published cohort | Salary measure | GBP | INR |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Nottingham University Business School postgraduates | HESA Graduate Outcomes 2022-23 | Average starting salary | £38,931 | INR 49.47 Lakhs |
Source: University of Nottingham course careers page, citing HESA Graduate Outcomes 2022-23.
The university does not publish a course-specific placement rate, salary distribution or international-student offer rate. Therefore, applicants should treat the school average as contextual evidence and request newer course-level outcomes before making a loan decision.
Business School Career Evidence
The latest published career progression survey gives a five-year view from 2021 to 2025 across Business School master’s programmes. Its role mix shows possible pathways, but it cannot establish the probability that this course leads to any one occupation.
| School-level job role | Share of reported destinations | Relevance to this MSc |
|---|---|---|
| Finance | 24% | Potential setting for analytical modelling and decision support |
| Marketing and sales | 19% | Connects to consumer data and descriptive modelling |
| Operations and logistics | 14% | Connects to optimisation, forecasting and supply-chain options |
| Business and data analytics | 8% | Directly aligned role family, without a course-specific conversion rate |
| Consulting | 6% | Relevant to communicating evidence and managing analytics projects |
Recent school-level employer examples include Amazon, Barclays, Deloitte, Jaguar Land Rover, KPMG, PwC and Standard Chartered. Their presence confirms reported graduate destinations only, not sponsorship availability, recruitment volume or an employer relationship with this MSc.
Business Analytics MSc Return on Investment
The verified gross tuition-plus-living budget is £43,600 to £48,400 (INR 55.40 to INR 61.50 Lakhs). Because course-specific salary and offer-rate evidence is unpublished, a numerical return on investment forecast would be unreliable.
- The confirmed automatic award lowers the calculated budget to £40,600 to £45,400 (INR 51.59 to INR 57.69 Lakhs), so verify eligibility before fixing the loan principal.
- The £38,931 (INR 49.47 Lakhs) salary is school-level evidence, so do not compare it directly with total cost as a one-year repayment estimate.
- The 18-month Graduate Route available from 2027 limits the unsponsored search window, so target employers and sponsorship-ready roles before the summer project.
- Python or R, SQL, Hadoop and visualisation form the technical core, so compare these assessed skills with UK and India job descriptions before enrolling.
Actual take-home pay depends on tax code, pension choices and location, which the gross school average does not capture. Use the official UK income tax estimator with a real offer before testing repayment capacity.
For an India return, convert actual role offers rather than the UK school average and compare them with the outstanding loan balance. The programme may still justify its cost when the project portfolio closes a verified skills gap, but published evidence cannot guarantee that result.
Student perspective
The same individual alumna described graduate applications as self-directed rather than campus placement. This anecdotal observation supports starting employer research early and treating careers support as preparation, not job allocation.
ROI reality: The school benchmark is below upper all-in cost and is not course-specific, so enrolment needs a role-based funding case.
UK Visa for Nottingham Business Analytics Students 2027
For September 2027, the Student visa application costs £558 (INR 70,899), while the student health surcharge is £776 (INR 98,599) yearly. The outside-London maintenance test is £1,203 (INR 1.53 Lakhs) monthly for nine months. This creates a separate proof requirement of £10,827 (INR 13.76 Lakhs), which is not the university’s living-cost estimate.
- The Graduate Route permits 18 months after study for applications made from 1 January 2027, so begin sponsor-ready job research before graduation.
- The standard Skilled Worker threshold is £41,700 (INR 52.98 Lakhs) yearly, although occupation rules can change the applicable figure for a specific offer.
- Settlement can follow five qualifying Skilled Worker years, while Graduate Route time does not itself count toward that five-year employment route.
- Taught MSc students normally cannot sponsor new dependants, although a qualifying government-sponsored student on a course longer than six months may qualify.

Visa reality: The 18-month post-study window is shorter than two years, so the course project and employer search should produce evidence for sponsored roles before graduation.
Nottingham Business Analytics Ranking 2027
The course page reports a global top 100 position for business analytics in the Quacquarelli Symonds World Business Master’s Rankings 2025. It also reports a top 50 position for employability within that ranking framework.
Programme-relevant ranking evidence: The edition is 2025 even though the applicant target is September 2027.
| Ranking | Edition | Scope | Published position |
|---|---|---|---|
| QS World Business Master’s Rankings | 2025 | Business analytics | Top 100 globally |
| QS World Business Master’s Rankings | 2025 | Employability measure | Top 50 |
The ranking supports subject visibility, but it does not replace the unpublished course-specific salary and offer-rate evidence. Use it to assess academic positioning, then test career value through the curriculum, verified costs and actual employer requirements.
Check Out: University of Nottingham Rankings
Key insight: A top 100 subject position strengthens programme visibility, while the missing course outcome rate still makes portfolio quality and targeted job research central decisions.
The programme fits graduates who have one strong quantitative module but still need structured training across data, machine learning and business implementation. Its N/LAB context and applied summer work suit applicants who want to connect technical analysis with management decisions. The material tradeoff is a high all-in cost without published course-specific salary or offer-rate evidence. Before enrolling, verify 2027 application timing and confirm that funding remains viable with only the automatic scholarship.
Business, Analytics and AI MSc FAQs
Ques. Is Nottingham’s Business Analytics MSc suitable without an analytics degree?
Ans. Yes, the 2027 requirement accepts any discipline, provided the applicant has a 2:1-equivalent grade in at least one quantitative module. Significant previous business analytics study can weaken subject fit because the programme is designed to build that specialism. A transcript showing statistics, mathematics, econometrics or comparable analysis should therefore anchor the application.
Ques. What is the realistic 2027 cost after the confirmed scholarship?
Ans. Eligible students have calculated net tuition of £31,000 (INR 39.39 Lakhs) after the automatic £3,000 (INR 3.81 Lakhs) award. Adding official living guidance produces £40,600 to £45,400 (INR 51.59 to INR 57.69 Lakhs), before visa and personal equipment costs. Use the gross fee if sponsorship or another University award affects automatic-scholarship eligibility.
Ques. When should an Indian applicant submit for September 2027?
Ans. The university has announced the intake but has not opened applications or confirmed the final international deadline. Expected 3 August 2027 is a planning marker derived from the recurring prior-cycle schedule, not a confirmed date. Prepare transcripts and references before opening, then verify the live portal date and any timed UK cutoff.
Ques. Does the MSc provide enough evidence for a secure analytics job?
Ans. No course-specific salary or offer rate is published, so secure employment cannot be inferred. The £38,931 (INR 49.47 Lakhs) school-level average and 8% analytics role share provide context across broader postgraduate cohorts. Ask for current course outcomes and compare the assessed technical portfolio with actual target-role requirements before borrowing.
Ques. How does the UK post-study route affect return on investment?
Ans. Graduates applying from 1 January 2027 receive an 18-month Graduate Route window, which limits unsponsored search time. The standard Skilled Worker threshold is £41,700 (INR 52.98 Lakhs) yearly, although the applicable figure can vary by occupation. Build employer research into the MSc and keep an India-return plan tied to actual offers rather than the school salary average.

- Business Career cell is very supportive and they will provide you number of resources to apply for the companies.
- Quality of Faculty is impressively nice, you will definitely get to experience the classes of really skilled and amazing professors.
- The campus is amazing , business campus and university main park campus both are beautiful, you can spend time on your own.
Dislikes
- There should be a hopper bus available to commute to city center, hopper is generally free for students which run between the campuses, but there should be atleast 2 or 3 free bus services for students a day specially after evening or night time.
- Societies are expensive for international students sometimes, they can have a look into it .
- There should be more interactive sessions within the courses or similar fields, generally they held the sessions all over the universities, it's hard to narrow down the group and be frank to talk to people.
- I have booked an off-campus accommodation; it costs me 500 GBP per month including all the bills, there is no TV, so I don't have to pay for that.
- The best thing is it is a 10-minute walk from my university campus, clearly visible form the window. There will be plenty of off campus accommodations that are cheaper than the on-campus ones. Do some research before booking yours.
