Master of Science [M.Sc] (Management Psychology)
Field of Study:
$40,964 /Yr
University of Nottingham MSc Management Psychology is a one-year full-time master’s at University Park Campus for September 2027 entry. International applicants need a UK 2:1 in any degree. Indian equivalence usually ranges from 60% to 70% or CGPA 6.0 to 7.0 on 10, and 2027 international tuition is £31,700 (INR 40.24 Lakhs).
The course trains students to apply psychology to recruitment, leadership, workplace wellbeing, organisational change and inclusive management. It suits graduates who want a practitioner-focused route into people analytics, human resources, consultancy or organisational development without needing an undergraduate psychology degree.
- The MSc route carries 180 credits, including an applied research project in an organisational context.
- Consultancy Skills uses role play and client-style pitching to translate psychology for workplace decision-makers.
- The part-time route exists, but Nottingham does not sponsor Student visas for part-time study.
Current Admission Status
Applications for the September 2027 intake are Not Yet Open. International student deadline: Expected 3 August 2027.
Nottingham’s 2027/28 application deadline page is still to be confirmed, so the date above is a labelled expectation from the 2026/27 standard deadline pattern. Indian applicants should prepare transcripts, references and English evidence before the portal confirms the final date.

Nottingham MSc Management Psychology Fees and Living Costs 2027
The confirmed 2027 international tuition for the MSc is £31,700 (INR 40.24 Lakhs). The fee table below uses the full-time international route because Student visa sponsorship is not available for part-time study.
Target-cycle fee context: Nottingham lists the same 2027 full-time fee for the MSc and PGDip routes, while part-time students pay a yearly proportion subject to inflation.
| Cost item | Official amount | INR equivalent |
|---|---|---|
| International tuition, MSc full-time | £31,700 | INR 40.24 Lakhs |
| International tuition, PGDip full-time | £31,700 | INR 40.24 Lakhs |
| Books, optional purchase estimate | Up to £80 each | Up to INR 10,154 each |
| Optional Occupational Test User Training | £800 plus BPS student concessionary fees | INR 1.02 Lakhs plus BPS fees |
All INR conversions in the article use a conversion rate of GBP 1 = INR 126.93 as of 26 September 2026. Rates fluctuate daily, verify before applying.

The largest required cost is tuition, but Indian applicants should also budget for a laptop, books and optional professional testing. Nottingham confirms a tuition fee deposit is required for full-time international postgraduate taught students, but the checked pages did not publish the amount.
Cost of Living in Nottingham for MSc Management Psychology Students
Nottingham’s official student finance page gives rent and campus-price examples, while the university scholarship page gives a broad monthly student budget. The combined estimate should not be treated as a visa-maintenance amount because UKVI uses its own separate rule.
| Expense | Monthly GBP | Monthly INR | Annual GBP | Annual INR |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Typical combined student budget, accommodation, food and transport | £800 to £1,200 | INR 1.02 Lakhs to INR 1.52 Lakhs | £9,600 to £14,400 | INR 12.19 Lakhs to INR 18.28 Lakhs |
| University accommodation portfolio, bills included | £429 to £1,352 | INR 54,453 to INR 1.72 Lakhs | £5,148 to £16,224 | INR 6.53 Lakhs to INR 20.59 Lakhs |
| Private Nottingham student house share | £576 | INR 73,154 | £6,916 | INR 8.78 Lakhs |
A calculated core one-year budget for tuition plus the university’s combined living estimate is £41,300 to £46,100 (INR 52.42 Lakhs to INR 58.51 Lakhs). This figure excludes visa charges, health surcharge, flights, refundable deposits and optional professional-test training.

Key insight: The confirmed tuition alone is INR 40.24 Lakhs, so scholarship planning must start before the final admissions deadline. Treat the INR 52.42 Lakhs to INR 58.51 Lakhs core budget as a study-cost baseline, not a visa-funds substitute.
Nottingham MSc Management Psychology Admission 2027
The 2027 entry requirement is a UK 2:1 in any degree, so the MSc is not restricted to psychology graduates. Nottingham still reviews each candidate individually because Indian grade equivalence depends on the university tier.
The course page warns psychology graduates to compare related routes carefully. A British Psychological Society accredited psychology degree may make Occupational Psychology MSc more suitable, while a non-accredited psychology degree may point toward Work and Organisational Psychology MSc.
Academic Eligibility for Indian Applicants
Indian equivalency context: Nottingham’s India page maps a UK 2:1 to different percentages and GPAs across Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3 Indian universities.
| Requirement | Official standard | Indian applicant equivalent |
|---|---|---|
| Degree subject | 2:1 in any degree | Any recognised bachelor’s degree, with final equivalence decided by Nottingham |
| Tier 1 Indian universities | UK 2:1 | 60%, GPA 3.0/4.0 or CGPA 6.0/10 |
| Tier 2 Indian universities | UK 2:1 | 65%, GPA 3.2/4.0 or CGPA 6.5/10 |
| Tier 3 Indian universities | UK 2:1 | 70%, GPA 3.4/4.0 or CGPA 7.0/10 |
This tiered rule is important because a 60% Indian degree is not automatically enough from every institution. Applicants near the boundary should upload full transcripts and grading explanations so admissions can judge the degree rather than only the headline percentage.
English Language Requirements
The course requires IELTS 6.5 with no less than 6.0 in each element. Nottingham accepts other tests, but the exact score must match the IELTS 6.5 equivalency column.
| Route | Required score or condition | Indian applicant meaning |
|---|---|---|
| IELTS Academic | 6.5 with no less than 6.0 in each element | Use this as the direct course requirement. |
| PTE Academic | 71, minimum 65 | PTE Online is excluded by Nottingham. |
| TOEFL iBT after January 2026 | 4.5 with no less than 4.5 in each element | Nottingham uses the revised TOEFL 1.0 to 6.0 scale. |
| TOEFL iBT up until January 2026 | 90, minimum 19 in Writing and Listening, 20 Reading and 22 Speaking | This applies only to older valid TOEFL tests. |
| CBSE or CISCE Standard XII English | 75% for IELTS 6.5 equivalence | State-board English is not accepted as an English substitute. |
- Choose IELTS or PTE if you need a familiar Indian test route with component scores.
- Use TOEFL only after checking that your test report shows Nottingham’s accepted scale.
- Do not rely on state-board Class XII English because Nottingham requires CBSE or CISCE for this waiver.

Tip for Indian students: The course is open to any degree background, but the India tier list can change the required percentage by 10 points. Check your university tier before treating the 2:1 requirement as only a 60% target.
Nottingham MSc Management Psychology Application 2027
Nottingham’s application page says 2027/28 entry deadlines are to be confirmed. For standard late-September starts, it says the international deadline is usually six to seven weeks before the start date.
The prior standard 2026/27 postgraduate taught deadline was 3 August 2026 for a 21 September 2026 start. The expected 2027 deadline below follows that official pattern, so applicants should verify it on the official application deadline page.
Application timing context: No confirmed 2027/28 cutoff time or timezone is published on the checked Nottingham pages, so the portal’s final confirmed deadline will control submission timing.
| Stage | 2027 status | Applicant action |
|---|---|---|
| Applications for September 2027 | To be confirmed for 2027/28 entry | Prepare the account and documents before Nottingham confirms the portal cycle. |
| International deadline | Expected 3 August 2027 from the 2026/27 standard pattern | Apply earlier if you need scholarship, visa or accommodation decisions. |
| Decision timing | University aims to decide within six weeks of submission | Submit before any funding deadline and mention known scholarship timing. |
| Conditions for late September start | Successful applicants must usually meet conditions by early September | Keep final transcripts, English scores and passport scans ready. |
| Supporting documents | Degree certificate, current or final transcript and other required documents | References or a personal statement may be requested for assessment. |
Indian applicants should work backward from the expected early August deadline because a funding application may need a course offer first. A clean application file should include scanned degree documents, transcript evidence and English proof before admissions requests clarification.
- Submit early if Chevening or another sponsor needs offer evidence before October 2026.
- Upload grading notes when your Indian university uses a non-standard scale.
- Use the personal statement to show workplace psychology fit, not generic management interest.
Deadline note
The expected 3 August 2027 date is not a confirmed target-cycle deadline. Recheck the Nottingham deadline page before submission because the 2027/28 table is still unpublished.
Application tip: Treat the September 2027 cycle as announced but deadline-sensitive. Apply before the expected early August window if you need time for English scores, funding outcomes and visa documents.
Nottingham MSc Management Psychology Scholarships 2027
The strongest confirmed funding route for a September 2027 Indian applicant is Chevening 2027, because its deadline is already published. Nottingham also lists an automatic International Postgraduate Scholarship for eligible full-time international master’s students.
Funding-cycle context: Developing Solutions is relevant to Indian applicants, but the checked page is for September 2026 and says the application deadline has passed.
| Award | Value | Eligibility and route | Deadline status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Chevening Scholarship 2027 | 100% of tuition fees, yearly living allowance and travel expenses | Chevening-eligible citizens with leadership potential and an undergraduate degree equivalent to an upper 2:1 | Tuesday 6 October 2026 at 11:00 UTC |
| International Postgraduate Scholarships | £3,000 toward tuition, INR 3.81 Lakhs | International fee-paying, self-funded students starting year one of a full-time UK campus postgraduate taught master’s | No separate scholarship application needed |
| Developing Solutions Masters Scholarship | 50% or 100% of full-time master’s tuition fees | India-domiciled applicants were eligible for selected faculties, including Medicine and Health Sciences, in the checked 2026 cycle | 2027 status unpublished, 2026 deadline passed |
Chevening is competitive because it funds tuition and living support, but it also requires a leadership case beyond course admission. The automatic Nottingham award is easier to access if eligible, yet it reduces only £3,000 (INR 3.81 Lakhs) from a £31,700 (INR 40.24 Lakhs) tuition bill.
- Prioritise Chevening first if you can document leadership and India-return impact.
- Do not combine Nottingham international scholarships because the university applies the single highest-value award.
- Use Developing Solutions only as planning context until Nottingham publishes the 2027 scholarship cycle.

Scholarship reality: The automatic Nottingham award helps, but it does not change the need for a large self-funded budget. Indian applicants needing major aid should treat Chevening as the main confirmed 2027 route.
Nottingham MSc Management Psychology Salary 2027
Nottingham publishes school-level salary evidence, not a course-specific Management Psychology placement report. The salary figure below is useful context, but it should not be read as a typical MSc Management Psychology graduate outcome.
The course’s career proposition is practice-based workplace psychology. It supports human resources, organisational development, training, assessment and consultancy paths, but applicants must build sector evidence during the MSc.
| Evidence type | Published figure or example | Scope | Indian applicant meaning |
|---|---|---|---|
| Course-specific salary | Not published on checked pages | MSc Management Psychology | Do not calculate payback from a course-specific salary. |
| School-level salary | £30,100 average starting salary, INR 38.21 Lakhs | Postgraduates from the School of Medicine, HESA Graduate Outcomes 2022/23 | Use only as proxy evidence, not as a guarantee. |
| Graduate destinations | P and G, Hess Corporation, UHL NHS Trust and Future Group India examples | Recent graduate destinations listed by the course page | Examples show possible role types, not employer volume. |
| Career support | 1,100 employers advertise jobs and internships through Nottingham’s vacancy service each year | University careers service | Use fairs and vacancy listings for UK evidence before graduation. |
Source: University of Nottingham course page careers section.
The financial case is mixed because the calculated core budget is £41,300 to £46,100 (INR 52.42 Lakhs to INR 58.51 Lakhs), before visa and health charges. A school-level gross salary of £30,100 (INR 38.21 Lakhs) cannot support a reliable payback calculation.
Taxes, UK living costs, sponsorship and India-return salaries vary by role. Applicants should therefore use the salary figure as context, not as a repayment forecast.
- Use the dissertation and Consultancy Skills module to create employer-facing evidence for people analytics or organisational development roles.
- Target the careers service early because the course page does not publish a placement rate or offer rate.
- Compare UK Graduate Route timing with Indian human resources roles before assuming UK salary recovery.
- Treat named destinations as access examples, not as recruiters for this cohort.
For Indian applicants, the main ROI question is whether the MSc adds credible psychology methods to an existing management or people-focused profile. It is less attractive for applicants who need a guaranteed placement route because Nottingham publishes support services and destinations, not course placement percentages.
Student perspective
One February 2025 Management Psychology reviewer said career options after the course needed clearer discussion, so applicants should use student reviews as a reminder to plan careers meetings early.
These comments are anecdotal and do not replace official University of Nottingham data.
ROI reality: This MSc is most rational for applicants who can turn workplace psychology training into a defined HR, consultancy or organisational development plan. The published salary evidence is school-level, so avoid treating it as a repayment forecast.
UK Visa for Nottingham MSc Management Psychology Students 2027
The full-time MSc can support the UK Student Route because Nottingham sponsors eligible full-time courses, while part-time study is not sponsored. The UK Student visa fee is £558 (INR 70,827). Students outside London must show £1,171 (INR 1.49 Lakhs) per month for up to nine months.
- Visa maintenance is £10,539 (INR 13.38 Lakhs) for nine months outside London, and it must be held for 28 consecutive days.
- The student Immigration Health Surcharge is £776 (INR 98,498) per year, separate from tuition and living-cost planning.
- Masters graduates applying after 1 January 2027 get an 18-month Graduate visa window, not a two-year route.
- The Skilled Worker route usually needs sponsorship and at least £41,700 (INR 52.93 Lakhs) or the role’s going rate.
Read More: UK Student Visa Process for Indian Students
Visa reality: The Graduate visa creates an 18-month job-search window after this MSc, but it does not remove Skilled Worker salary and sponsorship rules. Build UK role evidence during the course rather than waiting until results are released.
Nottingham MSc Management Psychology Ranking 2027
The course page cites management and psychology ranking signals, which are relevant because the MSc sits between workplace psychology and people management. These rankings are discipline context, not evidence of course-specific salary or placement rates.
Ranking context: Nottingham reports both rankings on the 2027 course page, but neither row is a dedicated MSc Management Psychology league table.
| Ranking signal | Edition | Published position | Applicant meaning |
|---|---|---|---|
| Management | QS World Business Master’s Rankings 2026 | World top 100 | Supports the management side of the course proposition. |
| Psychology | QS World University Rankings by Subject 2025 | World top 100 | Supports the psychology discipline base behind workplace topics. |
The ranking evidence is useful for shortlisting, but the stronger decision factor is curriculum fit. Applicants should compare the compulsory modules in assessment, organisational change and workplace wellbeing against their intended HR or consultancy pathway.
Check Out: University of Nottingham Ranking
Honest take: The subject rankings strengthen Nottingham’s academic case, but they do not replace course-level employment data. Use them as a fit signal alongside modules, cost and scholarship access.
University of Nottingham MSc Management Psychology fits Indian applicants who want workplace psychology without first completing a psychology bachelor’s degree. Its practical strength is the mix of consultancy, assessment, organisational change and research methods, while the main tradeoff is a high confirmed tuition against school-level salary evidence. Applicants with funding pressure should prioritise Chevening by 6 October 2026 and then verify Nottingham’s final 2027/28 application deadline before submitting.

- Campus- lots to do and explore.
- Co- Curricular activities- so many clubs to explore and skills to have.
- Professors- Really good teaching faculty and really helpful.
Dislikes
- Lack of seminars on how to adjust in a new county. What to expect and what to not- they have started it this year though.
- Career options after the course were not discussed properly. What can you do? How can you get help and support as an international student?
- I chose an off campus accommodation- near the city centre. I found it through agencies and ads posted on Open Rent or Rightmove.
- The monthly rent came up to 500-600 pounds. Including all the bills. I did not like my accommodation much because their management was extremely poor.
- I would suggest students to look for in campus accommodations- that way you can engage more and even outside with your friends.
