Master of Science [MSc] (Business Management)
$39,501 /Yr
Cardiff University MSc Business Management is a one-year, full-time conversion master’s in Cardiff for graduates from any discipline with a UK 2:2 equivalent. Indian applicants normally need approximately 55% to 60%, while January 2027 overseas tuition is £29,700 (INR 37.55 Lakhs). Enrolment begins on 18 January 2027.
The course builds functional management knowledge through six taught blocks, Business in Action and a 60-credit Consultancy Challenge. It best suits career changers seeking broad business fluency and team-based problem solving rather than a narrow specialist degree.
- The course requires no prior business degree, which makes it accessible to applicants moving from engineering, science, humanities or other disciplines.
- Assessment includes reports, case studies, presentations, videos and group work, so applicants can demonstrate more than examination performance.
- A dedicated Career Enhancer Team, placements manager and in-house careers consultant support job research, applications and interview preparation.
Current Admission Status
Applications for the January 2027 intake are Open. International student deadline: 4 December 2026.
Cardiff publishes no cutoff hour, so Indian applicants should submit before the UK calendar date begins rather than rely on an assumed IST conversion.

Cardiff MSc Business Management Fees and Living Costs 2027
The confirmed overseas tuition for the January 2027 intake is £29,700 (INR 37.55 Lakhs). Cardiff also lists a £2,500 (INR 3.16 Lakhs) deposit, which becomes part of tuition rather than an additional charge.
Confirmed 2026-27 costs: The course page assigns these amounts to overseas students entering during the target academic cycle.
| Cost | Amount in GBP | Amount in INR |
|---|---|---|
| Full one-year overseas tuition | £29,700 | INR 37.55 Lakhs |
| Tuition deposit credited toward the fee | £2,500 | INR 3.16 Lakhs |
| Postgraduate application fee | £0 | INR 0 |
All INR conversions in the article use a conversion rate of GBP 1 = INR 126.44 as of 28 October 2026. Rates fluctuate daily, verify before applying.

The deposit is due by 11 December 2026 for this January intake and appears against the tuition balance after enrolment. Cardiff permits full payment or instalments, but applicants should use the offer and enrolment instructions for their exact January schedule.
Cost of Living in Cardiff for MSc Business Management Students
January starters must arrange private accommodation, and Cardiff’s 2026-27 calculator estimates £1,125.91 monthly (INR 1.42 Lakhs) for a shared private-house scenario. Its annual figure assumes a 52-week contract and excludes travel, so it is a planning estimate rather than a visa threshold.
| Expense | Monthly in GBP | Monthly in INR |
|---|---|---|
| Rent excluding bills | £500 | INR 63,220 |
| Utilities and broadband | £88 | INR 11,127 |
| Food, toiletries and laundry | £293.19 | INR 37,071 |
| Study costs | £20 | INR 2,529 |
| Socialising and leisure | £165.97 | INR 20,985 |
| Clothes | £40 | INR 5,058 |
| Mobile phone and shared TV licence | £18.75 | INR 2,371 |
| Monthly total | £1,125.91 | INR 1.42 Lakhs |
| Annual total | £13,510.92 | INR 17.08 Lakhs |
A calculated tuition-plus-living budget is £43,210.92 (INR 54.64 Lakhs). It combines £29,700 (INR 37.55 Lakhs) tuition with £13,510.92 (INR 17.08 Lakhs) official living estimates. Flights, visa charges and personal travel remain outside this calculation.
The University estimate and the Student visa maintenance requirement answer different questions. Use the larger realistic annual budget for affordability, then document the separate Home Office amount when preparing financial evidence.

Student perspective
One 2022 MSc Business Management enrollee described private rooms as small for their price, an individual observation on the checked student reviews surface. January starters should compare room size, bills and contract length before paying a holding deposit.
These comments are anecdotal and do not replace official Cardiff University data.
ROI reality: The verified tuition and private-living estimate create a calculated baseline of £43,210.92 (INR 54.64 Lakhs), so funding should be secured before accepting the offer.
Cardiff MSc Business Management Admission 2027
Admission requires a UK 2:2 honours equivalent in any subject, which Cardiff maps to approximately 55% to 60% for recognised Indian bachelor’s degrees. The January route is a conversion course, so prior management study is not required.
January 2027 criteria: The published requirements apply to the full-time, one-year Cardiff campus course.
| Criterion | Published requirement | Indian applicant meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Academic degree | UK 2:2 honours degree in any subject or equivalent | Recognised bachelor’s degree, approximately 55% to 60%; Cardiff makes the final equivalency decision |
| Subject background | No prior degree or knowledge in business is required | Graduates from technical, scientific, humanities and other fields can apply |
| Professional route | Relevant professional experience may support applicants without a degree | Submit signed and dated employer references or an approved professional qualification |
| Selection | Applicants meeting every stated requirement receive an offer after review | GMAT, GRE and an interview are not listed in the published course criteria |
Applicants must upload the degree certificate and complete transcripts, while pending graduates may use interim transcripts or provisional certificates. Cardiff’s general postgraduate process also requests referee details, English evidence and a passport copy for visa applicants.
The curriculum moves through six 20-credit blocks before a 60-credit Consultancy Challenge. Its breadth helps career changers gain marketing, people, finance, strategy and operations exposure, but applicants seeking deep specialisation should compare a subject-specific MSc.
Assessment combines case studies, reports, poster presentations, videos and group presentations rather than relying on one examination format. Because formal assessments finish within each module, students must adapt quickly to each block’s topic and team demands.
English Language Requirements
The course requires IELTS Academic 6.5 overall with 5.5 in every subskill or an accepted equivalent. Cardiff’s current postgraduate policy separately publishes the revised TOEFL scale for tests taken from January 2026.
| English route | Minimum score or condition | Validity or restriction |
|---|---|---|
| IELTS Academic | 6.5 overall with 5.5 in each subskill | Academic tests, including one skill retake, are accepted |
| TOEFL iBT taken from January 2026 | 4.5 overall with a minimum 4.0 in each subskill | Cardiff’s post-January 2026 scale; valid for two calendar years |
| PTE Academic | 69 overall with at least 59 in all communicative skills | Valid for two calendar years |
| Indian Standard XII English | 70% or 140 out of 200 in an accepted subject and board | Functional English and specified Punjab, Gujarat and Haryana HSC English are excluded |
- Book IELTS, TOEFL or PTE early enough to meet every offer condition by 11 December 2026.
- Use Standard XII English only after checking that both the subject name and awarding board appear in Cardiff’s accepted list.
- Treat every component minimum as binding because a qualifying overall result does not compensate for a lower subskill.
Student perspective
One 2022 course enrollee reported large classes and self-selected groups, an individual account that reinforces the need to initiate collaboration early. Applicants uncomfortable with frequent teamwork should weigh this against the Consultancy Challenge’s group-based design.
Tip for Indian students: A recognised bachelor’s degree near the 55% to 60% guide can establish eligibility, but complete evidence determines whether Cardiff progresses the application.
Cardiff MSc Business Management Application 2027
The international application deadline is 4 December 2026 for enrolment on 18 January 2027. Cardiff allocates places first come, first served, so a complete application has more value than a rushed submission near closure.
January 2027 schedule: Cardiff publishes each milestone as a date without a portal cutoff hour, and the UK calendar date controls.
| Stage | Official date | Applicant action |
|---|---|---|
| International course application | 4 December 2026 | Submit the complete online application and evidence |
| Deposit deadline | 11 December 2026 | Accept the offer and clear the required payment |
| Offer conditions deadline | 11 December 2026 | Provide final academic and English evidence |
| Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies deadline | 18 December 2026 | Complete every requirement needed for visa sponsorship |
| Enrolment | 18 January 2027 | Arrive ready to begin the full-time programme |
Cardiff does not charge a postgraduate application fee, so the main application risk is incomplete evidence rather than submission cost. The University publishes no decision date for this course, and applicants should track requests through the online portal.
How to Build a Complete Application
The direct route requires a degree certificate, full transcripts and accepted English evidence, while pending graduates may submit interim records. Referee contact details and a passport copy are also part of Cardiff’s general postgraduate process.
- Submit before late November because Cardiff warns that document review can take up to ten working days.
- Use official translations and consistent names across the passport, transcripts and English result to prevent verification delays.
- Pay the deposit by 11 December because the payment secures the place and supports the later visa documentation process.
- Finish every academic and English condition by 11 December so Cardiff can work toward the 18 December CAS deadline.
A personal statement, CV and GMAT or GRE score are not listed among the course-specific requirements. Applicants should therefore prioritise verified academic records and explain professional experience only when using the alternative non-degree route.
Timing note
The published milestones contain no cutoff time, so do not invent an IST deadline. Complete each action before its UK date and retain portal receipts for the application, deposit and conditions.
Application tip: The seven-day gap between application and deposit deadlines leaves little recovery time, so submit verified documents well before 4 December 2026.
Cardiff MSc Business Management Scholarships 2027
Eligible Indian applicants can receive automatic consideration for three published January 2027 tuition discounts. The largest is the limited £10,000 award (INR 12.64 Lakhs), but Cardiff prohibits combining it with another scholarship, bursary, funding or discount.
January 2027 funding: Each award applies to full-time, Cardiff campus postgraduate study and reduces tuition rather than paying living costs.
| Scholarship | Value in GBP | Value in INR | Route and deadline |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cardiff Business School 125th Anniversary Scholarship | £10,000 | INR 12.64 Lakhs | Automatic consideration; apply by 4 December 2026 and meet the offer conditions |
| Cardiff University India Scholarship | £6,000 | INR 7.59 Lakhs | Automatic for eligible India-domiciled applicants; apply by 4 December and complete conditions by 11 December 2026 |
| Vice-Chancellor’s Postgraduate International Scholarship | £4,000 | INR 5.06 Lakhs | Automatic for eligible offer holders; accept the offer and pay the deposit by the offer deadline |
The anniversary award is limited and requires self-funded overseas status, although an educational loan remains acceptable. Applicants must accept the offer and pay the deposit within two weeks, while all conditions must be met by 11 December 2026.
For the India Scholarship, domicile means ordinary residence in India for at least three years before the course, excluding study-related residence elsewhere. Cardiff also requires the applicant to meet the exact published academic criteria rather than a discretionary lower offer.
If the £10,000 award (INR 12.64 Lakhs) is confirmed, calculated tuition becomes £19,700 (INR 24.91 Lakhs). Until Cardiff confirms funding in writing, however, visa and affordability planning should retain the gross £29,700 (INR 37.55 Lakhs) fee.
- Apply early because the anniversary scheme can close once its limited award allocation has been reached.
- Keep funds for the deposit because none of these tuition discounts can replace the required upfront payment.
- Check the written award before accepting other funding because the published schemes generally cannot be combined.

Funding note
Automatic consideration does not mean every applicant receives the largest award. Budget with the gross fee, then revise loan and visa calculations only after the scholarship appears in formal Cardiff documentation.
Scholarship reality: The £10,000 award (INR 12.64 Lakhs) materially changes tuition, but limited availability makes a scholarship-dependent application financially risky.
Cardiff MSc Business Management Salary 2027
Cardiff publishes no MSc Business Management salary, offer rate or sector mix. The closest current University evidence covers the entire Business School, so it cannot establish this course’s placement probability.
School-level outcome: The measure includes employment, further study and other activities, making it broader than a job-placement rate.
| Evidence | Published measure | Cohort and scope |
|---|---|---|
| Cardiff Business School graduate activity | 92.8% in employment, further study or other activities after 15 months | Graduate Outcomes 2023-24 survey, school-level rather than course-specific |
| Career support | Career Enhancer Team, placements manager and in-house careers consultant | Support provision, not a guaranteed internship or job |
| Course practice | Business in Action and a 60-credit Consultancy Challenge | Applied academic work, not an embedded placement year |
The one-year route develops evidence-based recommendations, financial analysis and team problem solving through applied modules. However, applicants needing formal work experience should compare the separate two-year Professional Placement Year course before committing.
External UK Salary Benchmarks
UK National Careers Service ranges provide labour-market context for roles aligned with broad management training. They are external job-market benchmarks, not Cardiff graduate salaries or promised starting pay.
| Role benchmark | Starter in GBP | Starter in INR | Experienced in GBP | Experienced in INR |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Management consultant | £27,000 | INR 34.14 Lakhs | £60,000 | INR 75.86 Lakhs |
| Business adviser | £27,000 | INR 34.14 Lakhs | £65,000 | INR 82.19 Lakhs |
Source: UK National Careers Service role profiles, checked 28 October 2026; these are market ranges rather than graduate outcomes.
These roles value analysis, communication and business planning, which the curriculum practises across modules and the consultancy project. Candidates still need relevant examples, networking and applications because the MSc does not convert the salary ranges into hiring access.
ROI for Indian Students
The calculated tuition-plus-living baseline is £43,210.92 (INR 54.64 Lakhs) before flights and visa costs. That commitment is rational only when the course enables a defined career transition and the applicant can tolerate uncertain employment outcomes.
- The £10,000 award (INR 12.64 Lakhs) can reduce tuition materially, so obtain written funding confirmation before resizing an education loan.
- The 92.8% school measure combines several activities, so request course-level destination evidence before treating it as repayment support.
- The 18-month Graduate route creates a limited UK search window, so begin role research and portfolio development during the first teaching block.
- The INR 54.64 Lakhs baseline creates currency risk for an India return, so compare expected Indian offers against loan payments before enrolment.
UK salary ranges are gross, while take-home pay changes with tax, pension and personal circumstances. Test any actual offer through the government tax estimator before calculating repayment capacity.
Student perspective
Two separate MSc Business Management reviewers said placement assistance could improve, making this a recurring anecdotal concern rather than an official outcome. Applicants should plan independent networking and treat University career services as support rather than job allocation.
ROI reality: The MSc offers broad management conversion and applied consultancy work, but the absence of course-level outcomes makes debt-funded enrolment a higher-evidence-risk decision.
UK Visa for Cardiff MSc Business Management Students 2027
Indian entrants need a Student visa, currently costing £558 (INR 70,554), plus an Immigration Health Surcharge of £776 (INR 98,117) per visa year. The surcharge depends on permission length, which can exceed the 12-month course. Visa charges remain separate from Cardiff’s living-cost estimate.
- Cardiff is outside London, so current financial evidence is £1,171 monthly (INR 1.48 Lakhs), totalling £10,539 (INR 13.33 Lakhs) for nine months.
- Graduates applying after this MSc receive an 18-month Graduate route because applications made from 1 January 2027 use the reduced period.
- A Skilled Worker job normally needs £41,700 (INR 52.73 Lakhs) or its going rate, while an eligible new entrant floor is £33,400 (INR 42.23 Lakhs).
- This taught MSc normally cannot sponsor dependants, while settlement usually requires five qualifying Skilled Worker years rather than Student or Graduate time.

Visa reality: The 18-month Graduate route is a job-search bridge, not a settlement route, so target sponsor-eligible roles before completing the MSc.
Cardiff MSc Business Management Ranking 2027
Cardiff’s programme is 98th globally in the QS Business Master’s Rankings 2027 for Master’s in Management. This is a programme-level comparison, so it qualifies for a dedicated ranking section.
Ranking context: The earlier 2026 edition placed the programme 88th in the same global ranking family.
| Edition | Ranking scope | Position | Decision meaning |
|---|---|---|---|
| QS Business Master’s Rankings 2027 | Master’s in Management, global | 98th | Current programme-specific standing |
| QS Business Master’s Rankings 2026 | Business Management master’s, global | 88th | Previous edition published by Cardiff |
The movement from 88th to 98th supplies trend context but does not measure individual hiring access. Applicants should give greater weight to curriculum fit, applied work and the absence of course-specific employment data.
The ranking is most useful when comparing general-management master’s programmes with similar conversion designs. It cannot replace scrutiny of total cost, placement structure or the 18-month post-study work window.
Check Out: Cardiff University course ranking context
Honest take: A 98th-place programme ranking supports international visibility, but verified cost and career evidence should drive the final decision.
Cardiff’s MSc Business Management best fits graduates changing discipline who want broad functional learning and an applied consultancy project. Its block structure rewards adaptable students who can move quickly between finance, marketing, people and strategy. The material tradeoff is a £43,210.92 (INR 54.64 Lakhs) baseline without course-specific salary evidence or an embedded placement year. Before enrolling, secure written funding and decide whether independent career preparation can justify that exposure.
Cardiff University MSc Business Management FAQs
Ques. Is Cardiff University MSc Business Management worth its total cost?
Ans. It can be worthwhile for a defined career change that uses the course’s broad modules and 60-credit Consultancy Challenge. However, the calculated £43,210.92 (INR 54.64 Lakhs) baseline and missing course-level salary data make an undefined, heavily debt-funded plan difficult to support.
Ques. Can an Indian graduate without a business degree apply?
Ans. Yes, the conversion course accepts a UK 2:2 equivalent in any subject, with approximately 55% to 60% guidance for recognised Indian degrees. Applicants should choose it for cross-functional management learning, while candidates seeking narrow expertise should compare a specialist MSc.
Ques. When should an Indian applicant submit for January 2027?
Ans. Submit well before 4 December 2026 because Cardiff reviews places first come, first served and warns that evidence processing may require ten working days. The deposit and offer conditions follow on 11 December, leaving little time to repair missing documents.
Ques. Which Cardiff scholarship matters most for an Indian applicant?
Ans. The limited £10,000 award (INR 12.64 Lakhs) has the largest financial effect, while the India Scholarship offers £6,000 (INR 7.59 Lakhs). Both use automatic consideration, but applicants should not combine awards or reduce borrowing until Cardiff confirms one in writing.
Ques. Does the MSc provide a placement and enough time to find UK work?
Ans. The one-year course provides careers support and an academic consultancy project, not an embedded placement year or guaranteed job. Graduates have an 18-month Graduate route, so portfolio work, networking and sponsor-focused applications should begin during the teaching blocks.

Off campus. Student accommodations are really good. You can find them through online platforms or agents. If you’re choosing to stay in Cardiff, eclipse is a good option where I stay. They have a lot of facilities. The bedrooms are on suite and the kitchen has a lot of space. They also have a movie room, study rooms, a gym, and party rooms in their facilities, which adds on to your student experience. It is also located in the city center, which gives you a lot of connectivity.
