University of South Wales fees for Indian students cover postgraduate (PG) and undergraduate (UG) routes, with Indian rupee (INR) conversions. The University of South Wales (USW) charges £17,900 (INR 23.30 Lakhs) for most PG courses. Business UG tuition costs £16,800 (INR 21.87 Lakhs). Engineering and science tuition costs £17,200 (INR 22.39 Lakhs). Master of Science (MSc) Data Science is a popular choice at £17,900 (INR 23.30 Lakhs) per year.

USW’s Pontypridd, Cardiff and Newport campuses create different housing decisions. The published living range is £950 (INR 1.24 Lakhs) to £1,200 (INR 1.56 Lakhs) monthly. On-campus housing means university-managed residence near the academic site. Private housing needs separate checks for bills, deposits, lease length and transport.

A 12-month MSc Management budget is INR 39.87 Lakhs at low living costs. The same budget reaches INR 43.78 Lakhs at the upper living estimate. USW has published 2026/27 rates, while 2027/28 fees remain unpublished.

  • Direct applications cost £0 (INR 0).
  • The Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS) undergraduate fee is £28.50 (INR 3,710).
  • The Early Payment Discount can reduce fees by £300 (INR 39,048).

January/February 2027 Intake: Next Realistic Entry

Fee update: The 2026/27 standard PG rate is £17,900 (INR 23.30 Lakhs). MBA Global costs £18,970 (INR 24.69 Lakhs). UG rates are £16,800 (INR 21.87 Lakhs) to £17,200 (INR 22.39 Lakhs). The 2027/28 rate is not published.

Scholarships: Self-funded applicants are automatically considered for up to £2,000 (INR 2.60 Lakhs). South Asia applicants can be considered for £2,500 (INR 3.25 Lakhs). The extra Early CAS award is £500 (INR 65,080) by 31 October 2026.

  • September 2027 is the next broad UG intake shown on the course pages.

Note: USW’s PG pages show annual fees, even when a course lasts 15, 18 or 20 months. The calculated full-course column multiplies the annual rate by the published duration.

  • The increases have slowed across the three recorded changes.
  • The 2026/27 rate still controls January or February 2027 PG starts.
  • September 2027 will use the 2027/28 fee year after publication.

Key Insight: January or February 2027 keeps the published PG rate at £17,900 (INR 23.30 Lakhs). September 2027 moves into the unpublished 2027/28 fee year, so retain a funding buffer before deferring.

The estimate covers accommodation, food, transport, utilities and personal spending.

  • Halls reduce bill uncertainty because utilities are included where stated.
  • Private housing can show a lower rent, but bills and deposits change the cash requirement.
  • Pontypridd, Cardiff and Newport have different academic and transport patterns.
  • Use the residence location to estimate transport before signing a private lease.
  • The government maintenance benchmark is £1,171 (INR 1.52 Lakhs) monthly outside London.

Note: Private rent is not a complete saving. Add bills, deposit, lease length and transport before comparing £380 (INR 49,461) to £520 (INR 67,683) with halls.

USW’s campus label describes the academic location, not guaranteed housing.

For the January or February 2027 PG intake, clear the deposit by the offer deadline. Allow five to seven working days for bank processing.

Currency Tip: The 31 October 2026 CAS-ready deadline controls the extra £500 (INR 65,080) award. It applies to the January or February 2027 PG intake. A forex card or the named provider can reduce raw-wire conversion costs by about 2% to 3%.

Total Cost of Studying at University of South Wales

A standard PG first-year budget ranges from INR 39.87 to 43.78 Lakhs under the published living range.

The table uses MSc Management as the worked example because its next February route is 12 months.

Source: University of South Wales fee and living-cost guidance, plus United Kingdom immigration charges.

  • UG living uses 10 months because the budget is tied to the academic year.
  • PG living uses 12 months because private leases can continue through summer.
  • The Year 1 immigration line shows £558 (INR 72,629) Student Visa cost. It adds £776 (INR 1.01 Lakhs) annual Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS).
  • Actual IHS is paid upfront for the full visa duration, not annually.
  • The 50% tuition deposit reduces the tuition balance and is not an extra fee.

At current rates, BA Business and Management tuition plus 30 months of midpoint living costs INR 1.08 Crore.

A INR 40 Lakh education loan has an equated monthly instalment (EMI) near INR 54,000. The term is 10 years at 10.5% interest.

Key Insight: An eligible PG offer can reach £2,500 (INR 3.25 Lakhs) through two USW awards. The midpoint MSc Management budget then falls from INR 41.83 Lakhs to about INR 38.57 Lakhs.

Methods of Payment

  • Bank transfer or telegraphic transfer using the bank details in the offer instructions.
  • The named USW international payment provider shown in the offer instructions. The supplied cache does not identify the provider.
  • A forex card can reduce conversion friction and raw-wire costs.

Steps to Pay the Tuition Fee for International Students

  1. Accept the USW offer and the admissions terms.
  2. Pay the course-specific deposit by the Acceptance Form deadline.
  3. Complete the CAS process with every requested document.
  4. Pay the balance at registration under the 50% instalment structure.
  5. Keep every payment receipt with the Student Visa evidence file.

The Early Payment Discount is £300 (INR 39,048). Pay the annual balance within 14 calendar days after the course start date.

Note: For the January or February 2027 PG intake, the 31 October 2026 CAS-ready deadline is earlier than the intake. Clear the deposit before that date if the extra £500 (INR 65,080) award is part of the plan.

Hidden Costs of Studying at University of South Wales

The first cash deadline is 31 October 2026 for applicants seeking the January or February 2027 PG Early CAS award.

  • Student Visa: £558 (INR 72,629) for an application made outside the UK.
  • Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS): £776 (INR 1.01 Lakhs) per year. A typical 16-month PG visa uses about £1,035 (INR 1.35 Lakhs) upfront.
  • Initial setup: £200 (INR 26,032) to £400 (INR 52,064) for bedding, kitchen items and local essentials.
  • International English Language Testing System (IELTS) retake: £215 (INR 27,984) per attempt.
  • Bank transfer charges: Raw international remittances can add 1% to 3% to the transfer value.
  • Private lease cash: Deposit and advance rent depend on the landlord and are not included in the verified minimum.

Cash Needed Before Arrival: A standard PG route needs the £8,950 (INR 11.65 Lakhs) tuition deposit. It also needs the £558 (INR 72,629) visa fee and £1,035 (INR 1.35 Lakhs) IHS. Add a £480 (INR 62,477) to £650 (INR 84,604) first halls payment.

That upfront range is approximately INR 14.35 to 14.57 Lakhs.

Budget approximately INR 14.35 to 14.57 Lakhs for first-year hidden costs.

Note: Families often forget the IHS. A typical PG visa uses about £1,035 (INR 1.35 Lakhs) upfront with the Student Visa application.

Fee Saving Strategies for Indian Students

The most urgent saving action is completing the January or February 2027 PG CAS-ready file by 31 October 2026.

  • Use the self-funded award: The International Office Scholarship can reduce fees by up to £2,000 (INR 2.60 Lakhs).
  • Check South Asia eligibility: The Chancellor’s award is £2,500 (INR 3.25 Lakhs), but it replaces the standard award.
  • Compare housing scope: Private rooms show £380 (INR 49,461) to £520 (INR 67,683). Halls show £480 (INR 62,477) to £650 (INR 84,604). Add bills and deposits.
  • Use part-time work carefully: Student Visa holders can work up to 20 hours weekly during term, subject to visa conditions.
  • Use Section 80E: Interest on an eligible Indian education loan can qualify for deduction. Section 80E of the Income Tax Act governs the claim.
  • Check the UG band: The annual difference is £400 (INR 52,064). It becomes £1,200 (INR 1.56 Lakhs) across three years at unchanged current rates.
  • Plan the Graduate Route: The route provides 18 months for applications made from 1 January 2027. It is a job-search window, not a salary guarantee.

The current United Kingdom Student Visa rules control work conditions and post-study routes.

Tip for Indian Students: The possible Early CAS award is £500 (INR 65,080). It is the highest-value January or February 2027 PG lever. An eligible offer can lift USW support to £2,500 (INR 3.25 Lakhs).

Is University of South Wales Worth the Cost for Indian Students

USW’s 12-month MSc Management costs INR 39.87 to 43.78 Lakhs in the first year, before scholarships.

The university reports 95% graduate employability within six months, but this is university-wide evidence.

USW is placed at 51 in the Guardian University Guide 2026. It sits in the 1201 to 1500 band in the Times Higher Education world ranking.

These indicators support a value case for applicants targeting USW’s cyber, data, finance or management routes.

The supplied cache has no course-specific salary, so no salary estimate is added.

A INR 40 Lakh loan has an EMI near INR 54,000 over 10 years.

Repayment works only when take-home income exceeds that EMI after rent, tax and daily costs.

Key Insight: January or February 2027 PG can save up to £2,500 (INR 3.25 Lakhs) through USW awards. September 2027 requires a new 2027/28 fee check before borrowing.

I have done PGCM from Lexicon Management Institute in which I completed 80 credits. The University of South Wales offered a course that could conclude with a degree of MBA Global. Another reason for choosing this University was the affordability that they offered. United Kingdom is the country which can greatly enhance your career and hence I chose University of South Wales in UK.

The University provides a very hands-on approach in this particular program with the help of mock crime scenes, which helps prepare you for your career in the actual field.
