From the 7th semester, students become eligible for campus placements. Top companies like Cognizant, Accenture, IBM, Wipro, TCS, and L&T will visit for campus placements and will hire 20 to 30 students per department. The highest package would be around 8 LPA and the average package would be 3 LPA. The percentage of students getting placements will be around 70 to 75 %. Andhra University Visakhapatnam: 1 Answered Question

What is your review of Andhra University?

Sakshi Gupta
Ishaan Vasisth,M.Tech Chemical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (2019)

One of my friends graduated from Andhra University. According to him, it is very reputed among students as well as professionals. But like every other institution, it also has its fair share of positives and negatives. Let me share them with you which you can analyze later on.

Pros:

  • It is one of the oldest universities in the country, hence has a great alumni network.
  • The student intake in each department is 30-60, which benefits the student-teacher interaction.
  • Each department has its own dedicated library consisting of several books, magazines, journals, and other study materials.
  • The campus is huge, covering 600 acres.
  • They have the biggest sports ground. Students are also provided with a gym and basketball court.
  • The entire campus is wifi enabled.

Cons:

  • The placements are average. The number of companies visiting the college has gradually decreased.
  • The lab equipment is not well maintained or upgraded.
  • Andhra University follows the age-old curriculum with little to no changes.
  • Students are told to put more emphasis on theoretical learning than practical.
  • Exams are mostly based on theories rather than practicals.

Overall, it is an above-average institution. It may not be like the IITs or NITs but still works well. It is suggested that you opt for this only if you have missed the opportunity to study in the IITs or NITs.
