(PCM) graduates to join directly into Semester 3, completing the degree in 3 years (6 semesters). Both lead to the same B.Tech degree from ADBU. For a diploma holder in Electrical or Electronics Engineering, lateral entry is clearly the better option as it saves one full year of study and fees while leading to the same qualification. The curriculum from Semester 3 onwards is identical for both regular and lateral entry students.
