AAU B.Tech FAQs

Ques. What is the difference between the GUJCET quota and ICAR AIEEA quota at AAU?

Ans. AAU reserves 85% of its B.Tech seats for Gujarat state students, filled through GUJCET-based merit via the GSAUCA portal. The remaining 15% forms the All-India Quota, filled through ICAR AIEEA, a national entrance test by NTA. Students from any state can apply for AIQ seats, with merit based solely on ICAR AIEEA score. If you are from outside Gujarat, ICAR AIEEA is your entry route to AAU.

Ques. Can a student who did not write GUJCET get admission to AAU B.Tech?

Ans. For state quota seats, GUJCET is mandatory with no exemption. However, if you did not write GUJCET, you can apply for the 15% all-India quota through ICAR AIEEA. Students qualifying ICAR AIEEA are not required to have a GUJCET score for AIQ seats. Both routes lead to the same four B.Tech programmes at AAU.

Ques. What career paths are available after B.Tech Dairy Science from AAU?

Ans. Graduates find placements in cooperatives like Amul and Mother Dairy, food companies like Nestle, and dairy equipment firms. Beyond campus placements, graduates may join state dairy development departments, pursue M.Tech in Dairy Technology, or qualify for ICAR postgraduate programmes. Entrepreneurship in milk processing and cold-chain logistics is a strong path in Gujarat, India’s largest dairy producing state.

Ques. Is ICAR National Talent Scholarship available for all four B.Tech specializations at AAU?

Ans. Yes. ICAR NTS is available for all four B.Tech programmes at AAU, provided the student was admitted through ICAR AIEEA and meets ICAR’s continuation criteria. The scholarship pays INR 2,000 per month and is renewable annually based on academic performance. Students admitted through GUJCET state quota are not eligible for ICAR NTS but may apply for AAU fellowships and MYSY.

Ques. Does B.Tech Agriculture Information Technology require Mathematics at 10+2 level?

Ans. No. B.Tech Agriculture Information Technology at AAU accepts students from both PCM and PCB backgrounds. If you studied the biology stream but are interested in software and data applications in agriculture, this programme is accessible. All four B.Tech programmes at AAU accept both A Group (PCM) and B Group (PCB) students, unlike most conventional engineering colleges that require PCM only.

Ques. Is hostel accommodation mandatory for B.Tech students at AAU?

Ans. Hostel is optional. The campus has separate boys and girls hostels charging up to INR 5,000 per year for boys and INR 3,000 for girls. Students from Anand and nearby areas may commute. For outstation students admitted through ICAR AIEEA from distant states, the on-campus hostel is the practical choice given limited private accommodation near the residential campus in Anand.

With 63% marks in Class 12 and 27 marks in GUJCET, getting admission in agriculture courses may be possible in some private colleges or through management quota. Admission chances in government colleges are lower because cutoff marks are higher. You should apply to multiple colleges and participate in counseling for better opportunities.
