About AAU B.Tech
Anand Agricultural University offers a four-year, full-time B.Tech in three branches with 190 seats in all: Food Technology and Agricultural IT in Anand, and Agricultural Engineering at Godhra. Seats are filled on a GUJCET merit through the common admission of Gujarat's farm universities, and 20% of the seats in two branches go through ICAR. The full fee for boys is INR 50,400 without hostel, the same for every branch; girls pay no tuition fee. In 2025-26 the General seat closed at a merit of 58.90 in Food Technology and 28.25 in Agricultural IT. NIRF data puts the median pay at INR 4.8 LPA for all its 4-year UG courses, with 58% placed.

AAU B.Tech Fees
The total fees with hostel is INR 66,900 and the fees without hostel is INR 50,400, for boys. The tuition fee is INR 28,000 of that, paid INR 3,500 a semester for eight semesters. Girls pay no tuition fee and no hostel fee. You pay INR 13,700 when you join, and the caution money comes back when you leave.

AAU B.Tech Eligibility
You need 120 out of 300 in the Physics, Chemistry and Maths or Biology theory papers, or 105 if you are SC or ST. You also need a GUJCET score. Grace marks do not count. Every branch uses the same rule, and a farmer's child gets 5% extra on merit.

You pay INR 8,200 online when a seat is given, or INR 3,200 if you are a girl, and INR 5,500 at the college. Before that you fill one online form on ug.gsauca.in and list your branches in order. The merit list decides the seat. Seats left after the online rounds go in offline and walk-in rounds.

Food Technology is the toughest branch here at a merit of 58.90 with 65 seats, and Agricultural IT is the easiest at 28.25 with 60 seats. All three share one fee and one merit list. Agricultural Engineering is taught at Godhra, not Anand. Every branch name below opens its own course page.

The university placed 220 of its 379 four-year UG graduates in 2024-25, a 58% rate, at a median pay of INR 4.8 LPA. This is one figure for all its 4-year UG courses, B.Sc and B.Tech together. AAU does not publish a B.Tech or branch figure. Another 155 graduates went on to higher studies.

The post-matric scholarships pay back the whole tuition fee, INR 28,000, for SC, ST and SEBC students with family income below INR 2.5 Lakhs. MYSY pays half the tuition fee, INR 14,000, to Gujarat students with an 80 percentile. Girls already pay no tuition fee.

Pick it if:
Your General merit sits between 38.11 and 58.89: this branch closed at 38.11 in 2025-26, far below Food Technology, so it is the realistic engineering seat.
You are from outside Gujarat: 13 of the 65 seats go through the ICAR all India quota, which Agricultural IT does not have.
You want farm machines, irrigation and soil and water work: this is the only AAU B.Tech built on them, and the trade-off is four years away from the main Anand campus.
Skip it if:
You want to study in Anand: this branch is taught only at the College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology in Godhra, with its own hostel.

Pick it if:
Your General merit is just above 28.25: Agricultural IT closed lowest of the three at 28.25 in 2025-26, so this is the seat that keeps you at AAU.
You missed the main rounds: this college still had seats for the walk-in round in September 2026, along with Agricultural Engineering at Godhra.
You want computing with a farm angle: the course joins IT with agriculture, but AAU publishes no pay figure for this branch alone.
Skip it if:
You are from outside Gujarat and hoping for ICAR: none of the 60 seats here go through the ICAR all India quota.
You want a pure computer science degree: this is an agricultural degree with IT, admitted through the farm universities, not the engineering counselling.
Food Technology (Food Technology)
65 seats, 13 through ICAR. Closed at 58.90 for General in 2025-26.
Pick it if:
Your General merit is 58.90 or more: Food Technology closed at 58.90 in 2025-26, the toughest of the three AAU branches.
You want to see food plants from year 1: the induction took first-years to Amul Dairy and the Amul chocolate plant, both close to the Anand campus.
You want labs and pilot plants: the induction tour covered the college's labs, pilot plants and research units in the first two weeks.
Skip it if:
You are SEBC with a merit near 60: the SEBC seat here closed at 63.00, above the General close of 58.90.
You hope for a walk-in seat: Food Technology was not on the September 2026 list of colleges with seats left.
Counsellor's advice
If your merit clears Food Technology, list it first. If it does not, put Agricultural Engineering above Agricultural IT only if you are fine living in Godhra; both had seats left for the walk-in round in 2026, so go to it.
B.Tech Eligibility▾
