Central University Haryana (CUH) Admission 2020: Courses, Fees Structure, Ph.D Admission

Central University of Haryana (CUHAR), is one of the 15 central universities established by the Government of India which offer admission to its various courses through CUCETentrance exam. The university offers undergraduate courses in Engineering & postgraduate courses under multiple streams such as Arts, Science, Commerce etc. In addition to UG and PG courses, it also offers several research courses in certain specializations under Arts and Science.

For admission to the Central University of Haryana, the candidate must clear the Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUCET), commonly conducted for central universities across India.However, in case of B.Tech admission, selection shall be done on the basis of marks scored in JEE Main exam. For PG, M. Phil. and Ph.D. courses, candidates shall be shortlisted on the basis of marks scored in CUCET exam.

The application process for registration to CUCET generally starts in the month of March. In order to apply for admission, the candidate needs to submit the application form through online mode along with the stipulated fee. With the CUCET exam usually conducted in the month of May, the results for the same is announced by June every year.

Important Points regarding Haryana University Admissions:

  • For admission to PG courses, the candidate should have completed Bachelor’s degree with minimum aggregate marks of 50% - 55% as per different subjects
  • For admission to M.Phil and Ph.D programme, the candidate should possess Master's degree in the relevant field.
  • Candidates will also need to appear for a written test followed by an interview to be conducted by the concerned Department, which shall carry weightage of 80% and 20% respectively.
  • Seats in the M.Phil. and Ph.D. programs are subject to availability of the research supervisor in the concerned department. In case of shortage of Research Supervisor, the seats may be decreased or the admission may not be offered at all.

Central University Haryana B.Tech Admission 2020

Central University Haryana offers B.Tech in four different specializations viz. Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering and Printing & Packaging Technology. The duration for all B.Tech courses is four years.

The university will shortlist the candidates for the B.Tech courses on the basis of marks achieved in JEE Main exam. In order to appear for JEE, the candidate should possess 10+2 or its equivalent from any recognized board with at least 50% marks in aggregate. Application process for the B.Tech courses generally starts in the month of July every year.

  • 5% relaxation is applicable in eligibility criteria for reserved candidates (SC/ST/PWD)
  • Each candidate is required to select all four specializations in order of priority

Central University of Haryana PG Admission 2020

Haryana University offers several PG courses such as 3-year MA and M.Sc under multiple specializations along with M.Com, MBA and Master of Computer Application (MCA). Master of Arts is offered under eight different specializations i.e. Education, English, Hindi, History, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology and Economics. For the ones who want to pursue Master of Science, the specializations offered are Environmental Science, Geography, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Microbiology, Bio Chemistry, Nutrition Biology and Biotechnology. The duration of post graduate course is two years spread over four semesters except MCA which is of three years’ duration, consisting of six semesters.

Candidates are shortlisted for admission to PG courses on the basis of marks scored in Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUCET) which is generally conducted in the month of May every year.

  • The required eligibility percentage of marks scored at graduation level varies for different specializations under MA/M.Sc. However, SC/ST students just need to pass the qualifying exam with minimum 40% aggregate marks.
  • OBC candidates will get a relaxation of 10% in the minimum required marks
  • 15% of the seats in all the PG courses are reserved for SC candidates, 7.5% is reserved for ST candidates and 27% is reserved for OBC candidates

Central University of Haryana M.Phil. and Ph.D. Admission 2020

Central University of Haryana offers research courses viz. M.Phil under five specializations namely Economics, English, Education, Hindi and Political Science. In addition to it, the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) programme is offered by the university in eight specializations – Economics, English, Education, Hindi, Political Science, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Nutrition Biology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Physics, Tourism and Hotel Management. The total number of seats present under M.Phil is 37 whereas the total number of seats for Ph.D. is around 42.

The university accepts admission in research courses on the basis of marks scored Central Universities’ Common Entrance Test (CUCET). Following are some of the important points regarding M.Phil/Ph.D Admissions offered by the university:

  • SC/ST candidates will get a relaxation of 5% in the minimum required eligibility marks
  • Candidates who have cleared UGC NET /JRF/SET/Teacher Fellowship or possess teaching/research experience of more than two years on regular basis shall be exempted from the written test.
  • 15% of the seats in all the PG courses are reserved for SC candidates, 7.5% is reserved for ST candidates and 27% is reserved for OBC candidates

Central University of Haryana Application Process

  • Candidate should log on to the university website in order to register online for admission.
  • Candidates should fill in the required details and upload the required self-attested documents along with the scanned photograph.
  • Then, he/she shall be redirected to the online payment mode option. Students can submit the required fees online via debit card, credit card or they can opt to pay the fees offline and download the challan
  • For online payment via debit and credit card, the fees for general and OBC candidates is INR 800 whereas in case of SC/ST candidates, candidates should pay INR 350
  • For offline payment via challan, the bank charges Rs.50/- for commission. General and OBC candidates have to pay INR 850 while SC/ ST candidates have to submit INR 400 as processing fees.
  • Candidates can also submit the fees via demand draft, take a print out of the duly filled-in registration form and send it along with the demand draft to the following address - The Registrar, Central University of Haryana, Jant-Pali, Mahendergarh, Haryana-123031
  • The demand draft should be submitted in favour of “The Registrar, Central University of Haryana” and should be payable at Mahendergarh from any nationalized bank
