The answer before mine beautifully summarizes all the important points. But I would emphasize one thing only, that is, make the most of your stay at NIT Jamshedpur.
I would suggest you live your life to the fullest, gather new experiences, and enjoy as much as possible. Try to get a hold of the academic structure of your college. Take part in extracurricular activities and college fests. Look out for research opportunities and sports facilities on campus.
This advice applies to students at every college, not just NIT Jamshedpur.
NIT Jamshedpur offers a good placement for B.Tech Mechanical. The students receive placement offers both from IT and core companies, for good enough packages.
Some of the companies that recruit Mechanical students from NIT Jamshedpur are- TATA, John Deere and JK Tyres, among others. BPCL recruits the department students at high packages, and so, it has a special place in this list.
During 2023, B.Tech Mechanical recorded 100% placements at the college. The highest package was 21 LPA, and the average package was 10.25 LPA for B.Tech Mechanical, for that placement season.
Thus, NIT Jamshedpur offers good placements for its Mechanical branch.
This is an inspiring placement story of one of my seniors from B.Tech CSE at NIT Jamshedpur. He is a dedicated, talented, and hardworking person.
In 2015, Amazon visited the campus to recruit interns. This senior of mine applied for the internship, along with others in the department. He cleared the written round and the 1st technical interview. But he failed to clear the 2nd technical interview. So he was not among the 5 students who secured the intern position.
A year later, Amazon visited again with a full-time software development engineer position. This time the guy was determined to crack the test. He was one of the only 2 students who cleared the written round and 4 technical interviews. So this time, he secured the position at Amazon.
Amazon offers one of the highest packages at NIT Jamshedpur. This guy cleared its difficult test against all odds. He cleared the test in 2016, and joined the company precisely one year later, after completing his B.Tech.
This guy enrolled at NIT Jamshedpur in 2013. His roll number contained the number 13, and so did his hostel room number. It feels like 13 is his lucky number after all!

FROM THE 7TH SEMESTER COMPANIES VISIT WHICH ALSO GIVES INTERNSHIPS TO 3RD YEAR STUDENTS TOTAL MORE THAN 100 COMPANIES VISITED FOR 575 STUDENTS HIGHEST WAS CLOSE TO 30 LPA AND AVERAGE IS 7 TO 8 LPA DEPENDING ON THE BRANCH CSE WAS ABOVE 10 LPA MORE THAN 90 PERCENT GETS PLACED. WITH TOP 20 PERCENT WITH DOUBLE OFFERS

I belongs to civil engieering, with this perspective I'm sharing my view. View will be different based on the branchs, Yeah Faculties are well educated here. almost all faculty teaching style arey just amazing. but some faculty do partiality with some students in term of giving marks. I like 5 6 faculty because of their teaching style but one faculty name KK sharma set hardest Question Paper and give good marks to them who is his favorite students, whom he knows very well and except of these students, he gives E, F and P grades.

Yeah, My overall experience in campus life is just fabulous. I was the caption of NIT Jsr Chess Team, so i really enjoyed overall campus life, you'll be having separate sports pitch like volleyball, badminton, cricket, chess, table tennis etc..

Hostels are quite good but there are many things to improve eg no wifi connection is there, No cleaned bathrooms, Only 2 Fans in everyroom. and mess food quality is hell. you'll get good food at Breakfast and non veg days but mostly it's hell..
