Should you pick MBA Marketing at Christ University?

This course suits students who want a marketing career in a big city and can pay a private university fee.

Pick it if:
You want a marketing job in a big city: the campus is in Bengaluru, close to consumer brands, start-ups and agencies for internships.
You do not have a CAT score yet: a XAT, MAT, CMAT, ATMA, GMAT Focus or GRE score also works.
You want classmates from many states: the MBA takes 1,320 students a year, and most of them come from outside Karnataka.
You want your answer early: apply in round 1, because its result comes on 6 Feb 2027 and round 2 starts only in April.
Skip it if:
You are counting on the placement record: the number of MBA students placed has fallen three years in a row in the NIRF data.
You want the fee back fast: the INR 11.68 Lakhs fee equals about eighteen months of the INR 7.6 LPA median pay.
You expect the college to place everyone: only 674 of 1,126 students in the batch of 2024 were placed, so plan your own job search too.
You come from outside Karnataka and need the lowest fee: you pay INR 5.80 Lakhs a year, which is more than students from Karnataka pay.
Counsellor's advice
If your CAT or XAT score is 60 percentile or more, apply in round 1 before 24 Jan 2027. If you want a sure job, keep a college with a higher placement rate above it.

FAQs on Christ University MBA Marketing

Straight answers to what students ask before they decide.

Is MBA Marketing at Christ University worth the fee?
It is worth it if you want a marketing career in Bengaluru and can pay the fee. The full fee without hostel is INR 11.68 Lakhs and the batch of 2024 had a median pay of INR 7.6 LPA. The fee takes about eighteen months of that pay to cover. If you need a loan, check the EMI line in the fee block before you decide.
What job will I get after MBA Marketing here?
Most marketing students start in sales, brand, digital marketing or client roles. The median pay for the MBA batch of 2024 was INR 7.6 LPA. Only 60% of that batch was placed, so the job is not certain. Start internships early and build your own list of companies to apply to.
Who should not take this course here?
Skip it if you need a sure campus job or a low fee. Only 674 of 1,126 students in the batch of 2024 were placed. Students from outside Karnataka pay INR 5.80 Lakhs a year. If either point worries you, keep a college with a higher placement rate or a lower fee above it.
Should I choose Marketing or another specialisation at Christ?
Choose Marketing if you like sales, brands and working with customers. Choose Finance or Business Analytics if you like numbers and data work. All six specialisations pay the same fee, so pick the work you want to do every day. Read the course list for each one before you apply.
Is a 60 percentile CAT score enough to get in?
It is enough to apply, not enough to get the seat. The university takes a CAT or XAT score of 60 percentile or more. The micro presentation, group discussion, written test and interview then decide the seat. Prepare for those rounds as hard as for CAT.
Should I wait a year for a better score?
Wait only if you are sure you can raise your score a lot and aim for a college with better placements. Christ takes a 60 percentile CAT score, so a higher score does not change much here. If you already clear the floor, apply in round 1 before 24 Jan 2027 and decide after the result.
Is the batch too big to get placed?
The batch is big, and that makes placement harder for many students. The MBA takes 1,320 students a year across specialisations. In the batch of 2024, 674 of 1,126 students were placed. Keep good marks, do internships and apply to companies on your own as well.
How do I get admission to MBA Marketing at Christ?
Fill the online form before the round's last date with a valid entrance score. Then go to the selection process at your centre. It has a micro presentation, a group discussion, a written test and an interview. If you are selected, pay the fee within 7 days of the result.
What is the full fee for the course?
The full two-year fee is INR 11.68 Lakhs without hostel for students from outside Karnataka. With hostel and mess it comes to INR 14.48 Lakhs. Students from Karnataka pay INR 5.70 Lakhs a year in tuition. Turn on the toggle in the fee block to see the hostel cost.
Can I get a scholarship for this MBA?
Yes, if your family income is low or your marks and activities are strong. Financial Assistance can cut up to 50% of the fee. The merit and co-curricular scholarships give between INR 1,000 and INR 10,000. Apply through your head of department with your income certificate or marks.
When are the round 1 dates for the 2027 batch?
Round 1 forms are open till 24 Jan 2027. The round 1 selection process is from 31 Jan 2027 to 2 Feb 2027. The final list comes on 6 Feb 2027. If you miss round 1, you can still apply in round 2, expected in April 2027.

Does Christ University Bangalore offer placements for Law courses?

Vipul MishraLLM in Intellectual Property and Trade Law from Christ University (2016 - 2018 Batch)

SLCU Christ University is one of the best private Law colleges in India. SLCU Law ranking by IIRF is 16 out of 50 in India in 2024 and it was ranked #17 out of 70 by India Today in 2023.

I did my LLM in Intellectual Property and Trade Law from SLCU Christ University in 2018. I can say it is one of the top private universities to do LLM courses because of its education Quality, teaching methods, etc. SLCU offers decent placements with lucrative offers and high ROI. The Department has a seperate placement cells which guides and trains students for placements, how to face Group discussions for interviews, etc. Right from the final semester SLCU's active placement cells starts teaching students; how to sit for the interview, to talk and negotiate for high package, building an attractive CV, etc. The average CTC package when I completed my graduation at SLCU Christ University was between INR 4 - 7 LPA and for sure it is above INR 7 LPA these days. Luthra and Luthra, S&R Associates, Khaitan & Co., Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas and AZB & Partners are some top recruiters in SLCU for LLM graduates.

Is pursuing LLM at School of Law, Christ University expensive?

Uttam KumarLLM from Christ University (2021 Batch)

Christ University has a separate school for its law course that is School of Law - Christ University. SLCU offers several Law courses at UG, PG, Diploma and Doctorate level. It offers 3 LLM courses at a fees Structure ranging between INR 1,50,000 - 2,50,000 based on LLM specializations.

Pursuing a LLM course from SLCU Christ University Bangalore at a fees of INR 2.50 Lakhs is not expensive as per my perspective. For financially weaker students, SLCU Christ University Bangalore also provides Education Loan and many scholarships. I myself was one such user to get Scholarships from Christ University. Scholarships at SLCU are offered based on academic results of a student during LLM course. When compared to other colleges offering LLM and the Education Quality and facilities offered at Christ University, fees is reasonable.

Can I pursue LLB from Christ University without BBA or BA?

Rohan TiwariLLM from Christ University (2016 Batch)

No, you cannot pursue LLB from Christ University without BBA or BA. My name is Rohan Tiwari. I have completed an LLM from Christ University. This is the same question that I had before.

Christ University, Bangalore offers different law courses including integrated LLB and LLM. School of love Christ University does not offer a direct LLB course. Candidates wishing to pursue LLB course must have to complete 10 + 2 or any Bachelors Degree for minimum 3 years. One cannot opt LLB without any prior Bachelor's degree. But if anyone likes to do only LLB then they have to spend 1 year extra which means that if someone has intentionally or unintentionally completed a 3-years degree course like BA, BCom, BBA, etc. then one can pursue a 3 years LLB course. So I have done BA Hons from Pune University but due to the transfer of my father, we relocated to Bangalore and later on I got interested in Law studies so I opted for a 3-years LLB course at Christ University. I spent 6-years for BA and LLB courses. So according to my experience it is better to pursue integrated LLB courses with BBA / BA or BCom, etc.

Do I need Work Experience to be selected by Christ University for an MBA?

Shahzad KhanMBA Human Resources Management from Christ University (2017 - 2019 Batch)

As a Christ University student, I would like to answer this question for you.

I have completed an MBA in Human Resources Management from Christ University in 2019. As per my knowledge, experience plays an important role in MBA admission into any top College/ University like Christ.

MBA Admissions at Christ University are entrance-based. Aspirants must qualify an MBA entrance and face GD PI rounds to get admission. For some MBA specializations and Executive MBA, one may also be asked for a minimum of 1-2 years of work experience in the relevant field.

After my bachelor's, I started working in a 4-star hotel and took a break from my studies. There I worked for 2 years and gained important knowledge and skills. I was given preference over other candidates because of my work experience.

This is how work experience plays a role in MBA admissions at Christ University.
