Should you pick M.Sc Biotechnology at Christ University?

This course suits students with a Life Sciences degree who want lab, research or biotech company work in Bengaluru.

Pick it if:
You want lab work in the biotech industry: Bengaluru is home to Biocon and Syngene, and semester 4 gives you a 12-credit internship.
You plan a PhD or a research job later: semester 4 has only a research project, an internship and a short paper on patents.
You are still in the final year of your degree: you can apply now if every semester so far is at 50% or more.
Skip it if:
You want a pay figure for this course first: the university gives one median for all PG courses, INR 6.65 LPA, not a biotech one.
You are paying the full fee yourself: students from other states pay INR 3.68 Lakhs, and no course pay figure shows how fast it comes back.
You want to wait for offers from other colleges: the first year fee is due within 7 days of your result here.
You often miss classes: the merit scholarship here counts your attendance along with your test marks.
Counsellor's advice
If this course is your first choice, apply in Selection Process I. If you wait for other results, keep the first year fee ready, since you get only 7 days.

FAQs on Christ University M.Sc Biotechnology

Straight answers to what students ask before they decide.

Is M.Sc Biotechnology at Christ University worth the fee?
It can be, if you want lab or research work in Bengaluru. The full fee is INR 3.68 Lakhs for students from other states and INR 3.28 Lakhs for Karnataka students. The university does not publish pay for this course alone, only INR 6.65 LPA for all 2-year PG courses. Ask the department for the last batch's internship and job list before you pay.
What job can I get after this course?
Most students aim for lab, quality or research roles. The course page lists research scientist, clinical research associate, bioinformatics scientist and quality assurance jobs. Semester 4 gives you a 12-credit internship, which is often where the first job offer starts. Pick your internship place with the job you want in mind.
Who should not take this course here?
Skip it if you do not have a Life Sciences degree, because the rule asks for one. Skip it too if you need a clear pay figure for this course before you decide. The university gives one median of INR 6.65 LPA for all 2-year PG courses, not a biotech figure. If pay matters most, ask the department for last year's job list first.
Is this course good if I plan a PhD later?
Yes, it suits research plans. Semester 1 teaches research methods and semester 4 has a 10-credit research project with an internship. Choose a project guide early in semester 3 and aim for work you can present or publish, because a PhD interview asks about it.
Should I apply if I am in the final year with 50% so far?
Yes, you can apply now. The rule lets final-year students apply if every semester so far is at 50% or more. Keep your final exams at 50% or more, since the course asks for a 50% aggregate. Use the checker above to see where you stand.
Should I wait for Selection Process II or III instead of the first round?
No, apply in Selection Process I if this course is your first choice. Later rounds only fill the seats that are left, and the number is not published. Selection Process III was the last round in 2026, with its result on 15 May 2026. Waiting gives you fewer seats to compete for.
Will I get placed after M.Sc Biotechnology here?
It depends on you and your internship, not a published rate for this course. Across all 2-year PG courses, 93% of graduates were placed in 2023-24. Treat that as a university figure, not a biotech one. Use your semester 4 internship to get an offer from the company you train with.
Is it better to take this seat or wait for other college results?
Decide before your result comes. The first year fee is due within 7 days of your result, so you cannot hold the seat for long. If this is your first choice, keep the fee ready. If not, list which other results come out within those 7 days.
How do I get admission to this course?
Apply online on the Christ University admission portal and pay the application fee. Then attend the skill assessment, micro presentation and interview on your admit card date. If you are selected, pay the first year fee within 7 days and report on your admission day with original documents.
What is the full fee for the course?
The full 2-year fee is INR 3.68 Lakhs without hostel for students from other states. Karnataka students pay INR 3.28 Lakhs. With a triple sharing hostel room the total comes to INR 4.36 Lakhs. Use the toggle in the fee block to see both totals.
Can I get a scholarship for this course?
Yes, there are three to check. The merit scholarship gives back 10% of the fee, the financial help can cover up to 50%, and single girl children can get INR 72,400 from UGC. Try the scholarship calculator above with your own answers, and apply for financial help between 30 Nov and 22 Dec.
Is there a hostel on campus?
Yes, the central campus has Jonas Hall for women and St. Kuriakose Elias Hall for men. The last published fee for a triple sharing room is INR 34,000 a year. You get a room only after you pay the programme fee, so apply for the hostel right after admission.

Does Christ University Bangalore offer placements for Law courses?

Vipul MishraLLM in Intellectual Property and Trade Law from Christ University (2016 - 2018 Batch)

SLCU Christ University is one of the best private Law colleges in India. SLCU Law ranking by IIRF is 16 out of 50 in India in 2024 and it was ranked #17 out of 70 by India Today in 2023.

I did my LLM in Intellectual Property and Trade Law from SLCU Christ University in 2018. I can say it is one of the top private universities to do LLM courses because of its education Quality, teaching methods, etc. SLCU offers decent placements with lucrative offers and high ROI. The Department has a seperate placement cells which guides and trains students for placements, how to face Group discussions for interviews, etc. Right from the final semester SLCU's active placement cells starts teaching students; how to sit for the interview, to talk and negotiate for high package, building an attractive CV, etc. The average CTC package when I completed my graduation at SLCU Christ University was between INR 4 - 7 LPA and for sure it is above INR 7 LPA these days. Luthra and Luthra, S&R Associates, Khaitan & Co., Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas and AZB & Partners are some top recruiters in SLCU for LLM graduates.

Can I pursue LLB from Christ University without BBA or BA?

Rohan TiwariLLM from Christ University (2016 Batch)

No, you cannot pursue LLB from Christ University without BBA or BA. My name is Rohan Tiwari. I have completed an LLM from Christ University. This is the same question that I had before.

Christ University, Bangalore offers different law courses including integrated LLB and LLM. School of love Christ University does not offer a direct LLB course. Candidates wishing to pursue LLB course must have to complete 10 + 2 or any Bachelors Degree for minimum 3 years. One cannot opt LLB without any prior Bachelor's degree. But if anyone likes to do only LLB then they have to spend 1 year extra which means that if someone has intentionally or unintentionally completed a 3-years degree course like BA, BCom, BBA, etc. then one can pursue a 3 years LLB course. So I have done BA Hons from Pune University but due to the transfer of my father, we relocated to Bangalore and later on I got interested in Law studies so I opted for a 3-years LLB course at Christ University. I spent 6-years for BA and LLB courses. So according to my experience it is better to pursue integrated LLB courses with BBA / BA or BCom, etc.

In addition to that, they must qualify MAT / CAT / CMAT / XAT / GMAT / GRE / ATMA. Finally, shortlisted candidates are called for GD/ PI and document verification.

You are eligible for MBA admissions at Christ University Bangalore with a Bachelor’s in any stream, as long as you fulfill the minimum eligibility criteria.

Do I need Work Experience to be selected by Christ University for an MBA?

Shahzad KhanMBA Human Resources Management from Christ University (2017 - 2019 Batch)

As a Christ University student, I would like to answer this question for you.

I have completed an MBA in Human Resources Management from Christ University in 2019. As per my knowledge, experience plays an important role in MBA admission into any top College/ University like Christ.

MBA Admissions at Christ University are entrance-based. Aspirants must qualify an MBA entrance and face GD PI rounds to get admission. For some MBA specializations and Executive MBA, one may also be asked for a minimum of 1-2 years of work experience in the relevant field.

After my bachelor's, I started working in a 4-star hotel and took a break from my studies. There I worked for 2 years and gained important knowledge and skills. I was given preference over other candidates because of my work experience.

This is how work experience plays a role in MBA admissions at Christ University.
