The institute was set up in 1986 as an Islamic Academy and upgraded to University in 2009. It has also received international recognition from the Al-Azhar University of Cairo in Egypt. The institute provides education from the secondary level up to the postgraduate level. Some diploma courses are also offered by the institute. DHIU enrolls students who are meritorious and have completed five years of their primary education. The total course duration at the university is twelve years. The admission in the college is done on the basis of a written and oral examination at the level of secondary education. Candidate should be of 10-11 years of age. Afterward, candidates who successfully pass secondary level are given admission in Senior secondary level. Those candidates who pass the senior secondary level and are above certain cut off are given admission in Bachelor’s program and consecutively, Master’s program at the University.
