Ans. All the colleges are well-known for providing excellent education. The NIRF rankings of VIT, IIITM Gwalior, and Thapar are 18, 29, and 100 respectively. However, one should not decide the best college based on rankings alone. So, here are a few facts about admissions, placements, etc that you should know. CSE at Thapar: Admission: Thapar accepts students only based on JEE Mains. The first year fee is 3.25 lakhs with a minimum of 60% in 10+2. Placements: The highest and average salary packages of the college are 43 LPA and 8.5 LPA. Each year over 1000 offers are made by the top companies. And more than 900 students are placed with the highest packages. The placement rate at the college is 90%. The most frequently visiting companies are Tata Motors, IBM, Adobe, Maruti Suzuki, McKinsey & Company, Oracle, Larsen & Toubro, Wipro, Whirlpool, Sandisk, Sapient, Samsung, EXL Service, Works Applications, Deloitte, HSBC, Name Kart, Royal Enfield, Hindustan Times, Walmart, Zomato, Nucleus Software, etc. CSE at IIITM Gwalior: Admission: The college accepts students based on the entrance exam JEE Mains and a minimum of 75 in 10+2. The total seats are 66. In which, 8 seats are reserved for females alone. The cut-off for general category students is 7536 to 9403. The fee for the course is 1.49 lakhs. Placements: The placement rate is 90%. Over 65 companies visit the campus each year. The highest and average salary of the students is 42 LPA and 14.58 LPA respectively. The companies visiting the campus are Aditya Birla, Amazon, Dell, IBM, Cleartax, Meesho, Epi Source, Verizon, ONAC, Microsoft, Oyo Rooms, MindTickle, Swiggy, Quikr, Grofers, etc. CSE at VIT: Admission: The college accepts students based on the entrance exam VITEEE. Also, the students should maintain a minimum of 60% marks in 10+2. The cut-off ranking of the course is 15,000. The course costs 1.98 lakhs per annum. Placements: The highest and average salaries of the students are 41.60 LPA and 6.05 LPA respectively. It has an amazing record in placements. The college receives over 1000 offers each year. More than 700 companies visit each year and recruit the students with the highest salaries. The top companies visiting the campus are Wipro, TCS, Bank of America, Udaan, Microsoft, Amazon, Swiggy, Accenture, Cognizant, and many more. All three of these institutes offer good CS programs and have decent placement rates. As for which will be better for you, you should be the one to decide that.Read more

Focus on more lab (practical) work rather than only on the theory part. All the instruments are available there. Professors are always available for any help. We are provided with Summer Internships here. Projects for the dissertation have been allotted to every student.

Thapar University has a very good nirf ranking (top 25). It has top class infrastructure and the main highlight is its library. Hostels are really good and have decent mess food too. The tutuion fee is on a higher side.

According to my JEE marks, this was best college and course option available to me and that too in my region. Being near to hometown is also one of the factors that made me choose this college. And my cousin was also in this college so she provided me with all the insights.

Enjoy your college life at Thapar Institute. The infrastructure, accommodation, food, faculty, and other cultural festivals makes it the most amazing engineering college. Also, the placement opportunity is way better than other colleges such as VIT, MSRIT etc. Overall, Thapar is worth taking admission.
