Ans. PEC Chandigarh is one of the pioneer engineering institutes in Punjab and provides quality education in electrical courses. The institute ranks 68th as per NIRF 2020 Ranking and also one of the oldest and premier institutes. The university is famous for its placement packages and is great for pursuing Electrical engineering.  Thapar Institute of Information Technology (TIET) has been ranked 2nd among 13 Indian Private Institutions by ‘THE’ Asia. They offer both BTech and MTech courses of 4 years and 2 years respectively. The learning process at Thapar for CSE is more inclined towards practical knowledge. Admission Process: PEC Chandigarh The candidates must have a minimum of 75% marks in 10+2 with PCM with a valid score in JEE Main. The cutoff required for Electrical engineering is 12781 - 17622. The total seats allocated is 37 per department.  The course fee required is INR 96,750. TIET The candidates must have 60% marks in 10+2 with PCM with a valid score in JEE Main. The total fee for CSE is INR 3.25 LPA.  The seats available for the CSE course is 60. Ans. Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology (SLIET) has carved a niche for India’s professional institutes and ranks 6th in Punjab. The institute maintained an average growth of 75-80% of students’ placements every year with 300 approx faculties. Thapar University has been ranked 2nd among the 13 Indian Private Institutions by THE ASIA. It houses more than 11,000 students and consistently provides above 90% placements every year. The institute also offers scholarships worth INR 14 crores.  Admission process:- SLIET The candidates must have a valid 10+2 degree. The candidates must have a score in the SLIET-SET exam. The minimum cutoff required is in the range of 12894-45074. The course fee required is INR 2.67 LPA.  The total intake is 267. Thapar University The admission in BTech requires a minimum score of 60% marks in 10+2 with science stream.  JEE Main is compulsory for admission in BTech.  The percentile required is 90. The total seats allocated are 300. The fees required is INR 3.24 LPA.  Placements:-  SLIET always maintains 75-80% campus placement every year. A total of 192 placement offers were made to the students of SLIET in 2019. CSE received the highest amount of placement of 80%. Thapar university maintains a good placement record of 90% every year. Ans. Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology has been ranked 29th amongst top engineering colleges in India by NIRF. While IIT Dharwad hasn't been ranked yet by NIRF. Placements: IIT Dharwad: Since the institute is new, the first batch graduated in 2020 with the highest PPO offered by Microsoft at INR 80,000 per month. The highest package offered to CSE students was INR 15 lakhs per annum Average package offered was INR 8 lakhs per annum. Of the total students who applied for placements, 90% were placed in 2020. Ans. NIT Srinagar is a government-funded public university, whereas Thapar University is a privately owned institution. NIT Srinagar is considered an institution of national importance. Thapar University is ranked number 2 among private institutions in India by The Asia. Placements: NIT Srinagar: NIT Srinagar CSE students usually receive almost 100% placement. Major IT companies are present every year to recruit top CSE student talents. Some of the famous recruiters are Wipro, Infosys, Amazon, Oracle, Capgemini, Oxigen, Pinnacle, HP, etc. The average annual CTC offered is around INR 9 LPA. The highest CTC offered was around INR 17 LPA. Thapar University: CSE students of Thapar University have bagged 100% placements consistently for the last 6 years. There were 264 recruiters present last year who offered jobs to students. The prominent recruiting companies were Oracle, Wipro, Western Digital Corporation, TCS, General Electric Digital, Microsoft, Infosys, IBM,, JP Morgan, XION Advertising, etc. The highest CTC offered was INR 43 LPA while the average CTC was around INR 8.5 LPA.
