VMKVEC BE Lateral ECE FAQs
Ques. What is the difference between regular BE and BE Lateral Entry programs?
Ans. The regular BE program is a 4-year full-time degree program for 10+2 qualified students. The BE Lateral Entry program is a 3-year program designed for Diploma holders who directly enter the second year of the engineering program. Both programs follow the same curriculum from the second year onwards and award the same BE degree. The lateral entry scheme allows diploma holders to save one year of study while gaining a bachelor's degree in engineering.
Ques. What are the eligibility requirements for BE Lateral Entry in Electronics & Communication Engineering?
Ans. Candidates must have completed a Diploma in Electronics & Communication Engineering or related branches (such as Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology, etc.) from a recognized institution. The diploma should be from an AICTE-approved or state-recognized polytechnic. Candidates must meet the minimum aggregate marks requirement as per AICTE and VMRF-DU regulations. Additionally, candidates must be at least 17 years old on or before December 31st of the year of admission.
