VMU MDS FAQs
Q1. What is the difference between Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics?
Ans. Conservative Dentistry focuses on the restoration and preservation of natural teeth through restorative procedures like fillings, crowns, and veneers. Endodontics is a specialized branch dealing specifically with diseases of the dental pulp and root canal treatment. The MDS program in Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics combines both specialties, training students in comprehensive tooth preservation techniques including root canal therapy, retreatment procedures, and aesthetic restorations. This integrated approach enables practitioners to manage complex cases involving both pulpal and structural tooth damage.
