The IIT BHU placement has 195 M.tech graduates got placed with a median package of 8.09 LPA among 257 graduates. For B.tech graduates the placement is much higher as 180 out of 197 graduates got placed with a median package of 15.2 LPA.

IIT BHU Admission Updates 2021

  • IIT BHU Admission to M.Sc is offered through IIT JAM. Candidates who appeared for the exam can expect the IIT JAM 2021 Result on March 20, 2021. 
  • Candidates can submit the application form for IIT BHU admission on the JAM 2021 website from April 15 to April 28, 2021. 
  • The tentative date for availability of application form for M.Tech, M.PHarm or Ph.D admission is March/April. 
  • The JEE Advanced examination considered for admission to various undergraduate courses will be conducted on July 3, 2021.

  • IIT BHU considers JEE Advanced score for B.Tech admission, followed by JoSAA Counselling.
  • The JoSSA registration and choice filling begins from the third week of June on the online portal.

IIT BHU B.Tech Cutoff 2021

Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) releases round wise IIT BHU cutoff for B.Tech admission. Candidates having equal or above cutoff are eligible for admission and can participate in the JoSAA Counselling. Every year seven rounds of JoSAA Counselling are conducted. However, in 2020 six rounds were held.

IIT BHU Placement

IIT BHU placement 2020 observed an increase in pre placement offers from 164 in 2019 to 179 in 2020. The number of internships offered also increased from 141 to 204. 

The institute also conducts pre-placement talks in which students coordinators send interested companies slots for conducting PI/Written or online tests. The final IIT BHU placement commences in the month of December.

IIT BHU offers Merit-cum-Means scholarships to 25% of undergraduate students. Apart from this, the institute also provides other financial assistance like Institute free studentship, reimbursement of mess charges and pocket allowances to SC/ST students.

The institute is well known for its experienced and well educated faculty members. The IIT BHU faculty includes a director and five deans managing Academic Affairs, Resource & Alumni, Research & Development, Student Affairs and Faculty Affairs. Alongside the Registrar, Heads of the Departments and Coordinators of the schools carry out the various functions of the Institute.

Ques. Is IIT BHU admission based on merit only?

Ans. The IIT BHU admission does not solely depend on merit. Candidates need to have the valid qualifying entrance exam score line JEE Advanced, GMAT, GPAT, NET, GATE, IIT JAM, etc. For some courses a written test or PI is also conducted.

Ques. What are the specializations offered in IIT BHU M.Pharm?

Ans. There are a total four specializations available in IIT BHU M.Pharm namely, Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmacology and Pharmacognosy. The admission is based on merit, GPAT score and the interview.

Ques. What is the reservation policy followed at IIT BHU?

Ans. In each discipline, IIT BHU reserves 15% seats for SC, 7.5% for ST and 27% for OBC (non-creamy layer) candidates. The institute also provides 5% relaxation in qualifying degree to the SC/ST candidates in the IIT BHU admission process.

Ques. Does IIT BHU provide fellowship to Ph.D students?

Ans.  The IIT BHU Ph.D students are provided fellowship of INR 25000+house rent allowances if they don't get the institute accommodation. In two years, if the fellow is promoted as SRF, the basic fellowship increases to INR 28000 per month.
