Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith (MGKV) is one of the recognized educational institutes of Uttar Pradesh. It has been contributing in the field of education since a long time and still has a long way to go. The university was established as an effort to give more strength to India’s Freedom Struggle against British. It was inaugurated by Mahatma Gandhi during the Non-Cooperation Movement of the freedom struggle on February 10, 1921

The university has well-equipped library with collection of 1,522 books. There are 32 journals in the library.
MGKV provides hostel facility to accommodate its students within the campus. There are following 3 hostels in the campus:
- Acharya Narendradev Hostel
- Lal Bahadur Shashtri Hostel
- J.K. Mahila Hostel
It has a computer lab with 60 computers, 8 printers, 1 LCD projector, 4 overhead projectors, 2 photostat machines and 1 television.
