These courses are flexible and can be completed as per the student's liking. The E-Learning Centre (ELC) of IIT Roorkee is responsible for creating and maintaining the online courses. It offers a total of 970 courses through departments like. 235 new courses were added recently. 

These courses are offered two times a year - January to April and July to October. Students are also provided with a certificate upon the completion of the course. They have to pay INR 1,000 for the certificate.
