WBNUJS Faculty

The faculty at the college is a blend of highly qualified and renowned professionals, many of whom hold PhDs and have graduated from prestigious institutions like Berkeley and Oxford. Notable professors include Shamnad Basheer in intellectual property law and Sandeep Bhatt in outer space law. The faculty employs the Socratic method and encourages student participation and research involvement, resulting in enriched classroom discussions that enhance public speaking and critical thinking skills.

Despite a lack of diversity, most faculty members are state natives who are professional and effective in teaching. The Student-Faculty ratio is approximately 50:1, with many faculty members having multiple publications, research projects, and practical experience as advocates and corporate lawyers. Guest faculties have included eminent personalities such as ex-PM Dr. Manmohan Singh and Nobel laureate Amartya Sen.
