The highest package offered at Ashoka University is INR 42.5 Lakhs, while the average package stood at INR 11.6 Lakhs. Various recruiters participated in the recruitment process of Ashoka University including Aditya Birla Group, Adobe, Ernst & Young, Flipkart, Genpact and more.
Ashoka University closed its 2025-26 placement season with 100% placements among students who opted for the campus recruitment process. The graduating batch picked up more than 450 job offers from 163 organisations.
The highest domestic package stood at INR 42.5 LPA and went to a Computer Science undergraduate at Ashoka University. The average CTC rose 16.3% to INR 13.5 LPA, while the median moved up 7.5% to INR 11.4 LPA.
Other markers from the season worth noting:
- 78 of the 163 recruiting organisations came to campus for the first time.
- The top 20% of placed students recorded an average CTC of INR 22.5 LPA and a median of INR 22 LPA.
- Close to 80% of the placed cohort joined six sectors, led by BFSI, consulting and development.
- More than 135 students collected over 400 admission offers from universities abroad in the same cycle.
Ashoka runs its recruitment through a single Career Development Office that covers the three-year undergraduate programme, the Ashoka Scholars Programme, the Young India Fellowship and the postgraduate degrees. The 2026-27 season has only just opened and no figures have been released for it yet.
Ashoka University Placement Highlights 2026
The table below sets the latest completed season against the one before it. Both sets of numbers come from the university's own career reporting.
| Particulars | 2026 | 2025 |
|---|---|---|
| Average CTC | INR 13.5 LPA | INR 11.6 LPA |
| Median CTC | INR 11.4 LPA | INR 10.6 LPA |
| Highest CTC | INR 42.5 LPA | INR 35 LPA |
| Average CTC, top 20% of students | INR 22.5 LPA | - |
| Median CTC, top 20% of students | INR 22 LPA | - |
| Total Offers | 450+ | 436 |
| Recruiting Organisations | 163 | 164 |
| First-time Recruiters | 78 | - |
| Students Placed | Not disclosed | 400 |
Key Takeaways:
- The recruiter count stayed flat year on year, but almost half the pool was new, which points to a churn in the employer base rather than growth in it.
- The gap between the average and median CTC widened to INR 2.1 lakh in 2026 from INR 1 lakh in 2025, so the rise in the average was pulled up by offers at the top end.
- The highest package climbed by INR 7.5 lakh in a single cycle after three straight years at INR 35 LPA.
Ashoka University Placement Trends: 2021 to 2026
Ashoka splits its reporting into a corporate track and a development track, and the two move on different curves. Corporate compensation has hovered in a narrow band for five years, while development sector pay has climbed steadily from a much lower base.
Corporate Sector Placements by Year
| Graduating Year | Average CTC | Median CTC | Students Placed |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2026 | INR 13.5 LPA | INR 11.4 LPA | - |
| 2025 | INR 11.6 LPA | INR 10.6 LPA | 400 |
| 2024 | INR 10.7 LPA | INR 9.5 LPA | 355 |
| 2023 | INR 11.4 LPA | INR 10.6 LPA | 351 |
| 2022 | INR 11.2 LPA | INR 10 LPA | 336 |
| 2021 | INR 9.1 LPA | INR 8.5 LPA | 304 |
Development Sector Placements by Year
| Graduating Year | Average CTC | Median CTC |
|---|---|---|
| 2025 | INR 11.1 LPA | INR 10 LPA |
| 2024 | INR 9 LPA | INR 8 LPA |
| 2023 | INR 8.7 LPA | INR 9 LPA |
| 2022 | INR 7.5 LPA | INR 6.5 LPA |
| 2021 | INR 6.3 LPA | INR 6 LPA |
Key Takeaways:
- Development sector pay has risen 76% in four years, from INR 6.3 LPA in 2021 to INR 11.1 LPA in 2025.
- By 2025 the development sector average sat within INR 50,000 of the corporate average, a gap that was close to INR 3 lakh in 2021.
- The corporate average dipped in 2024 before recovering, so the five-year corporate trend is flat to modest rather than a steady climb.
Ashoka University Sector-Wise Placements 2026
Six sectors absorbed roughly four fifths of the placed batch. Consulting and technology delivered the sharpest jumps in pay, while BFSI hired the largest share of students at a flat compensation level.
| Sector | Share of Placements | Average CTC | Change in Average CTC |
|---|---|---|---|
| BFSI | 20% | INR 12.7 LPA | +3% |
| Consulting | 18% | INR 16 LPA | +30% |
| Development and Social Impact | 15% | INR 11.5 LPA | +11% |
| Technology | 9% | INR 15.1 LPA | +26% |
| Data, Research and Analytics | 9% | INR 13.5 LPA | +26% |
| EdTech and Education | 7% | INR 11.9 LPA | +25% |
Key Takeaways:
- Consulting paid the most per hire at INR 16 LPA and also grew fastest, but it took fewer students than BFSI.
- Every sector except BFSI recorded double-digit growth in average CTC, which is why the batch average moved up faster than the median.
- Development and social impact remains a large employer of Ashoka graduates at 15% of placements, an unusually high share for an Indian campus.
Ashoka University Internships
Internships run as a separate track through the Career Development Office and feed a share of the final placement pool. The 2024-25 cycle produced more than 657 offers from over 300 participating organisations, with more than 603 students placed.
The highest internship stipend reached INR 2.2 lakh per month. The average stipend in the previous cycle was INR 18,000 per month, and about 70 organisations joined the campus internship fair.
| Year | Internship Offers | Highest Monthly Stipend |
|---|---|---|
| 2026 | 650+ | INR 1.5 Lakhs |
| 2025 | 657+ | INR 2.2 Lakhs |
| 2024 | 650 | INR 2.2 Lakhs |
| 2023 | 506 | INR 1.5 Lakhs |
| 2022 | 357 | INR 1.5 Lakhs |
| 2021 | 223 | INR 1.5 Lakhs |
| 2020 | 164 | INR 0.5 Lakhs |
The internship sector mix looks nothing like the placement mix. In 2023-24, EdTech and education took 30.4% of interns and development took 18%, while consulting took only 5%.
IT and technology accounted for 9.6%, media and advertising 9.4% and BFSI 9.2%. Women made up 53.4% of internship hires that year across 270 companies.

Beyond the marquee consulting names already visible in the sector table, the notable additions in recent cycles sit in banking and analytics. Barclays, Oxane Partners, Gartner and Fractal Analytics are the kind of firms that lifted the BFSI and analytics shares in the 2026 mix.
Ashoka University Placement FAQs
Ques. Does the 100% placement figure cover the entire graduating batch at Ashoka University?
Ans. No. The 100% figure applies to students who registered for and sought employment through the Career Development Office in 2025-26. A large part of every Ashoka batch exits to graduate school instead, and in the same cycle more than 135 students took up over 400 offers from universities abroad. Students who choose higher studies, entrepreneurship or independent job searches are outside the placement denominator, which is why Ashoka reports offers and recruiter counts rather than a batch-wide placement percentage.
Ques. Which Ashoka programme gets the strongest placement numbers?
Ans. The Ashoka Scholars Programme, the optional fourth year, has consistently reported the highest corporate average. In the last cycle with a full programme break-up, ASP students averaged INR 12 LPA against INR 10.86 LPA for those exiting after the three-year degree, and the ASP ceiling was INR 35 LPA against INR 23 LPA. The Young India Fellowship matched that INR 35 LPA ceiling but averaged closer to the three-year cohort. MA and MLS placements sat at an average of INR 10.70 LPA.
Ques. Is the INR 42.5 LPA highest package at Ashoka an international offer?
Ans. It is a domestic offer. Ashoka reported it as the highest domestic package of the 2025-26 season and it went to a Computer Science undergraduate. This is the first time the campus ceiling has moved past INR 35 LPA, a level it had held for three consecutive cycles from 2023 to 2025.
Ques. Do liberal arts majors at Ashoka get placed as well as Computer Science and Economics majors?
Ans. The pay ceiling sits with quantitative majors, but the volume does not. BFSI, consulting and development together accounted for 53% of the 2026 placements, and these functions hire across sociology, psychology, history, political science and English. Ashoka's own reporting lists humanities graduates placed in roles such as account executive at Edelman India, HR executive at ITC and research analyst positions in the development sector. The university does not publish major-wise salary data, so branch-level comparisons are not possible from official figures.
Ques. How useful are Ashoka internships for getting a final job offer?
Ans. The internship track is larger than the placement track by volume. The 2024-25 cycle produced more than 657 internship offers from over 300 organisations against roughly 450 job offers in the following placement season. Stipends ranged widely, with an average of about INR 18,000 per month and a peak of INR 2.2 lakh per month. The sector mix is different too, with EdTech and development taking nearly half of all interns while consulting takes only about 5%, so an internship does not always sit in the same sector as the eventual job.
