IIITDM Kurnool Admission Dates 2027

Admissions for the 2026-27 academic session have concluded. The next admission cycle (2027-28) is expected to open with JEE Main 2027 registration in November 2026. JoSAA 2027 counselling for B.Tech seats is tentatively expected in June to July 2027.

The tentative schedule for the 2027-28 cycle is listed below. Dates are indicative and will be confirmed via official NTA and JoSAA notifications.

B.Tech seats are allocated exclusively through JoSAA. M.Tech seats are filled through CCMT based on GATE scores. Ph.D admissions are held twice yearly through an institute-level written test and interview.

IIITDM Kurnool Courses and Fees

IIITDM Kurnool offers programmes at the undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels across engineering, technology, and science disciplines. The table below shows total fees for each programme family as per the 2026 fee structure.

B.Tech Admission

B.Tech admission at IIITDM Kurnool is entirely through JEE Main, followed by JoSAA online counselling. There is no separate institute-level test.

JoSAA closing ranks for B.Tech CSE (General category) at IIITDM Kurnool have typically ranged between 12,000 to 18,000 in recent cycles. ECE and Mechanical-Design and Manufacturing closing ranks are generally higher, providing a wider entry window for those branches.

B.Tech + M.Tech Dual Degree Admission

Dual degree seats are also allotted through JoSAA counselling based on JEE Main scores. Closing ranks for dual degree programmes tend to be slightly higher than the corresponding B.Tech programmes, making them an accessible alternative entry path in JoSAA.

M.Tech Admission

M.Tech admission requires a valid GATE score in the relevant engineering discipline. Seats are allotted through CCMT (Centralised Counselling for M.Tech).

• Entrance: Valid GATE score

Ph.D Admission

Ph.D admissions are held twice per year, in January and July. Eligible candidates hold an M.Tech degree, or a B.Tech with a valid GATE or UGC/CSIR NET score. Selection involves a written test and an interview conducted by the institute.

IIITDM Kurnool Placements

IIITDM Kurnool placement 2022-23 recorded a highest package of INR 28 LPA and an average package of INR 10.79 LPA. A total of 55 students were placed out of 81 registered, representing a placement rate of 67.90%. Recruiters span IT product companies, IT services, government R&D, and core engineering sectors.

The top recruiter by volume was C-DOT, a government R&D organisation, which hired 10 students at INR 14 LPA. Amazon offered INR 26.5 LPA to 3 students, while NAVI offered the highest individual package at INR 28 LPA. TCS-INI placed 9 students at INR 9 LPA, making it the second-largest volume recruiter.

Government R&D organisations such as C-DOT are a consistent presence in placement drives, reflecting the institute’s design and manufacturing orientation. CSE students attract IT product and services companies, while ECE and Mechanical branches see higher absorption by core engineering and embedded systems firms.

IIITDM Kurnool Campus and Infrastructure

The IIITDM Kurnool campus spans 151 acres on Jagannathagattu Hill in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh. The elevated location offers a green, low-traffic academic environment away from the city centre. The campus houses blocks for CSE, ECE, Mechanical Engineering, and Sciences, along with computing laboratories, design and fabrication labs, and an institute library.

The institute maintains hostel facilities for both male and female students on campus. With 1,000 students on a 151-acre spread, the campus has a low student-to-space ratio that makes for an uncrowded academic setting. Sports facilities and a student activity space support co-curricular life. The Mechanical Engineering and ECE departments have lab facilities oriented towards design, manufacturing, and embedded systems, aligned with the institute’s DM mandate.

IIITDM Kurnool vs IIIT Dharwad vs IIIT Una

Aspirants who qualify in a JEE Main rank bracket that makes IIITDM Kurnool reachable often compare it with peer new-generation IIITs such as IIIT Dharwad (Karnataka) and IIIT Una (Himachal Pradesh). All three are Institutes of National Importance under the Ministry of Education with similar JoSAA admission routes and INI-standard fee structures.

IIITDM Kurnool has an edge in campus size and the breadth of its M.Tech programme, with nine specialisations that include Drone Technology, Cyber Security, and Automation and Robotics. IIIT Dharwad benefits from its location in Karnataka’s technology corridor near Hubli-Dharwad. IIIT Una draws students from the northern and Himachal region with strong state ties.
