Ques. What is the CMA (US) certification and why is it valuable?
Ans. The CMA (Certified Management Accountant) is a globally recognised professional certification in management accounting and financial management, awarded by the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA), USA. It validates expertise in financial planning, analysis, control, decision support, and professional ethics. The CMA (US) is highly valued by employers in corporate finance, FP&A, and management accounting roles, and is recognised in over 100 countries. It is considered one of the most prestigious credentials for finance professionals working in corporate environments.
Ques. What is the difference between CMA (US) and CMA (India)?
Ans. CMA (US) is awarded by the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA), USA, and focuses on management accounting, financial analysis, and strategic decision-making. CMA (India) is awarded by the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI) and has a broader scope covering cost accounting, taxation, and auditing with a focus on the Indian regulatory framework. Both are valuable, but CMA (US) has stronger international recognition, particularly in multinational corporations and global finance roles.
Ques. What is the total cost of this programme including the CMA fee?
Ans. For All India candidates without any scholarship, the total fee including base tuition (Rs. 6,31,764), CMA integration fee (Rs. 1,36,000), other charges (Rs. 74,000), admission fee (Rs. 10,000), and enrolment fee (Rs. 5,000) comes to approximately Rs. 8,59,764 over four years. Scholarships on the base tuition fee can reduce this amount. Hostel fees are additional and optional.
Ques. Do I get the full CMA (US) certification after completing this programme?
Ans. The programme prepares students for the CMA (US) examination and provides the academic foundation required. However, the full CMA certification requires passing both parts of the CMA exam conducted by IMA, USA, and completing two continuous years of professional experience in management accounting or financial management. GEHU provides exam preparation support, but students must clear the IMA exams independently.
Ques. What career roles can I pursue after this programme?
Ans. Graduates can pursue careers as management accountants, financial analysts, financial controllers, budget analysts, cost accountants, financial planners, tax consultants, auditors, investment analysts, treasury managers, financial risk managers, and Chief Financial Officers (CFOs). The CMA (US) credential is particularly valued in multinational companies, manufacturing firms, and large corporate finance departments.
Ques. Is this programme better suited for students interested in corporate finance or public accounting?
Ans. This programme is specifically designed for students interested in corporate finance, management accounting, and financial analysis within organisations. It is ideal for those who want to work inside companies managing budgets, financial planning, and strategic decisions rather than in public accounting or audit firms. Students interested in public accounting, audit, or international finance may find the ACCA or CA pathway more suitable. The CMA (US) is widely regarded as the gold standard for corporate finance and FP&A roles.
