GEHU B.Com FAQs
Ques. What is the difference between B.Com. (Hons.) International Finance with ACCA and a regular B.Com. at GEHU?
Ans. The B.Com. (Hons.) International Finance and Accounting with ACCA, UK is a specialised programme that integrates the globally recognised ACCA (UK) professional certification into the undergraduate degree. Students pursuing this programme simultaneously work towards their ACCA qualification, which is recognised in over 181 countries. A regular B.Com. does not include this professional certification. The ACCA programme also has a higher eligibility requirement (55% vs 50% in Class XII) and an additional fee of Rs. 22,000 per semester.
Ques. Do I get the full ACCA qualification after completing this programme at GEHU?
Ans. The programme is structured to help students complete a significant portion of the ACCA qualification during their four-year degree. However, the full ACCA membership requires passing all ACCA exams (Applied Knowledge, Applied Skills, and Strategic Professional levels) and completing the required practical experience (PER). GEHU provides the academic foundation and exam preparation support, but students need to clear ACCA exams independently through ACCA's global examination system.
Ques. What is the total cost of this programme including the ACCA fee?
Ans. For All India candidates without any scholarship, the total fee including base tuition (Rs. 6,31,764), ACCA integration fee (Rs. 1,76,000), other charges (Rs. 74,000), admission fee (Rs. 10,000), and enrolment fee (Rs. 5,000) comes to approximately Rs. 8,99,764 over four years. Scholarships on the base tuition fee can reduce this amount. Hostel fees are additional and optional.
Ques. Is the ACCA qualification from GEHU recognised internationally?
Ans. Yes. ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) is a globally recognised professional accounting body headquartered in the UK, with recognition in over 181 countries. The ACCA qualification itself is internationally valid regardless of which institution you pursue it through. GEHU is an ACCA-approved learning partner, which means the curriculum is aligned with ACCA's requirements.
Ques. What career opportunities are available after this programme?
Ans. Graduates can pursue careers as financial analysts, auditors, tax consultants, investment bankers, financial planners, corporate finance managers, treasury managers, risk managers, forensic accountants, and compliance officers. The ACCA qualification significantly enhances employability in international markets, particularly in the UK, Middle East, Southeast Asia, and other regions where ACCA is widely recognised. Many graduates also go on to complete their remaining ACCA exams and pursue roles in Big 4 accounting firms.
Ques. Can I pursue CA (Chartered Accountancy) alongside this programme?
Ans. While it is technically possible to register for ICAI's CA Foundation and pursue CA alongside this degree, it is practically very demanding given the rigorous ACCA curriculum already integrated into the programme. Most students choose to focus on completing their ACCA exams during the degree and pursue CA or other qualifications (CFA, CMA) after graduation. It is advisable to consult with the university's academic counsellors before attempting both simultaneously.
