Assam Women's University is a state level university located in Jorhat, Assam. It was founded in 2013 and recognized by University Grants Commission (UGC). It is the first women’s university in the state of Assam. The main objective of Assam Women’s University is to provide quality education and impart the best opportunities for women candidates. The university offers various courses at undergraduate and postgraduate level in multiple disciplines, having 25 seats in each program. It runs BA and BPT at undergraduate level and MA, MBA, MCA, MTTM, M.LIS and M.Sc. at postgraduate level. Except for MCA, the duration of all master programs is 2 years and MCA has 3 years of duration. While BA is 3-year program and BPT is 4-year program.
