Ques. What career options are available after completing BA (Marathi) from CSMU?
Ans. After completing BA (Marathi) from CSMU, students can pursue a variety of career paths. They can appear for competitive exams like UPSC/MPSC where Marathi literature is an optional subject. Students can also pursue M.A. in Marathi from other universities for higher academic and teaching careers.
Ques. Can students from non-Marathi speaking backgrounds or from outside Maharashtra apply for BA (Marathi) at CSMU?
Ans. Yes, students from any state or linguistic background can apply for BA (Marathi) at CSMU, provided they meet the eligibility criteria of passing 10+2 with a minimum of 50% marks. Students who have studied Marathi as a subject in school will find the transition easier.
Ques. What is the difference between BA (Marathi) and BA (Hons. with Research) in Marathi at CSMU, and which is better?
Ans. At CSMU, the BA programme follows the NEP 2020 framework. Students who complete 3 years receive a BA degree, while those who continue for a 4th year with a research component receive a BA (Hons. with Research) degree. The Hons. degree is generally preferred for students planning to pursue M.A. in Marathi or academic/research careers, as it demonstrates a deeper engagement with the subject. For students planning to enter the job market directly after graduation, the 3-year BA is sufficient. The additional year costs Rs. 50,000 in annual fees.

However, students who have not appeared in CUET-UG can still apply directly through the CSMU admission portal and will be considered on the basis of their 10+2 marks. CSMU also conducts its own CSMUCET for students who wish to take an entrance test.
