CSMU B.Tech (Robotics and AI) FAQs
Ques. Is B.Tech (Robotics and Artificial Intelligence) at CSMU a separate branch or a specialisation?
Ans. At CSMU, B.Tech in Robotics and Artificial Intelligence is offered as a specialisation under the B.Tech Mechanical Engineering programme. This means the core engineering fundamentals are rooted in mechanical engineering, with advanced specialisation modules in robotics, AI, automation, and control systems. The degree awarded will reflect the specialisation, and students benefit from both mechanical and AI-focused curriculum.
Ques. What entrance exams are accepted for admission to B.Tech (Robotics and AI) at CSMU?
Ans. CSMU accepts JEE Main and MHT-CET scores for B.Tech admissions. However, direct merit-based admission (based on 10+2 marks) is also available. Students who have appeared in JEE Main 2026 Session 1 (January 21-28, 2026) or Session 2 (April 2-9, 2026), or MHT-CET 2026 PCM (April 11-19, 2026), can apply using their scores. CSMU does not conduct its own entrance exam for B.Tech admissions.
Ques. What is the total fee for B.Tech (Robotics and AI) at CSMU, and what does it include?
Ans. The total course fee for 4 years is INR 6,55,000 (including the one-time non-refundable registration fee of INR 15,000). This includes tuition fees and other charges. Hostel accommodation is optional and costs INR 92,000 to INR 1,40,000 per year (mess charges extra). Students are also required to have their own laptops as per the university's prescribed specifications.
Ques. What are the career prospects after completing B.Tech (Robotics and AI) from CSMU?
Ans. Graduates can pursue careers as robotics engineers, automation engineers, AI developers, embedded systems engineers, and research associates in industries such as manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, defence, healthcare robotics, and technology startups. Higher studies options include M.Tech in Mechanical/Robotics Engineering, M.Sc. in AI, or MBA. The growing adoption of Industry 4.0 technologies has significantly increased demand for robotics and AI professionals.
Ques. Does CSMU have dedicated robotics labs for B.Tech (Robotics and AI) students?
Ans. Yes, CSMU has world-class engineering laboratories and research facilities on its Panvel campus. The university emphasises practical, hands-on training and has industry collaborations that provide students with exposure to real-world robotics and automation systems. The campus infrastructure includes engineering labs equipped for robotics, embedded systems, and AI projects.
Ques. Can I get admission to B.Tech (Robotics and AI) at CSMU without a JEE Main score?
Ans. Yes, CSMU offers merit-based direct admission to B.Tech programmes without requiring a JEE Main or MHT-CET score. Candidates who have passed 10+2 with Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry with at least 45% marks in these subjects combined are eligible to apply directly. However, having a valid JEE Main or MHT-CET score may improve your chances in the merit list and may also make you eligible for CSMU's CUET-based scholarship scheme.
