The University of Western Australia (UWA) Mumbai is the University's first campus in India and its first international branch campus. The campus opened in Andheri East, Mumbai, in September 2026 and welcomed its first students during the inaugural intake. UWA has described the Mumbai campus as part of its wider expansion in India, with a second campus in Chennai.

UWA Mumbai Campus

The UWA Mumbai campus is located in Andheri East, one of Mumbai's major commercial and education areas. The campus is positioned close to corporate offices, start-ups and transport networks. According to UWA, the campus is approximately 5 minutes from the airport and around 1 minute from Marol Naka Metro station.

The campus includes technology-enabled classrooms, innovation and project labs, group work studios and student collaboration spaces. The learning environment is designed around practical projects, teamwork, problem-solving and industry engagement.

UWA Mumbai Courses

UWA Mumbai currently offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes across technology, STEM and business. The current Mumbai portfolio includes seven undergraduate programmes/majors and two postgraduate programmes. UWA Mumbai Undergraduate Courses

UWA Mumbai undergraduate programmes are offered in technology, science and business. Most undergraduate programmes have a 3-year full-time duration. The Bachelor of Advanced Computer Science with Artificial Intelligence is a 4-year integrated Honours degree.

• Computer Science: The Bachelor of Science in Computer Science covers programming, software engineering, databases, algorithms, computer systems and related computing areas. The course has a 3-year duration and starts in Mumbai in September 2026.
• Data Science: The Bachelor of Science in Data Science combines Data Science and Computer Science and focuses on data analysis, statistical techniques, programming, predictive modelling and data-driven problem-solving.
• Artificial Intelligence: The Bachelor of Advanced Computer Science with Artificial Intelligence is a 4-year integrated Honours programme covering machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, intelligent agents and AI systems. 
• Cybersecurity: The Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity focuses on secure computer systems, cybersecurity threats, secure coding and practical cybersecurity skills. The programme has a 3-year duration and is offered at the Mumbai campus.
• Business Management: The Bachelor of Business in Business Management covers management, marketing, economics, entrepreneurship and strategy. It is a 3-year full-time programme.
• Global Business: The Bachelor of Business in Global Business focuses on international markets, global organisations, cross-cultural management, sustainability and business strategy.
• Enterprise and Innovation: The Bachelor of Business in Enterprise and Innovation provides a foundation in business, management and entrepreneurship, with a focus on innovation and enterprise.

UWA Mumbai Postgraduate Courses

Master of Information Technology: The Master of Information Technology is a 2-year postgraduate programme covering areas such as cybersecurity, programming, database systems, data science, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, machine learning and software development. The programme is available in full-time and part-time modes.

Master of Business Administration: The UWA MBA is an accelerated 1-year programme covering accounting, economics, organisational behaviour, finance, marketing, international management, project management, entrepreneurship and strategic management. The Mumbai MBA is scheduled to commence on November 2, 2026.

UWA Mumbai Admission

UWA Mumbai admission is based on a fair and holistic evaluation of applicants. The University states that meeting the minimum eligibility requirements makes an applicant eligible for consideration but does not guarantee admission. UWA also states that no separate admission test is required for its India campus admissions.

UWA Mumbai Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility requirements vary according to the programme. Undergraduate applicants must meet the academic requirements specified for their chosen course. UWA considers qualifications such as CBSE, ISC, A-Levels, IB and equivalent qualifications for admission.

For example, the Bachelor of Science in Data Science requires a minimum Mathematics Methods or equivalent prerequisite and has course-specific academic thresholds. The Bachelor of Advanced Computer Science with Artificial Intelligence has higher academic requirements, including a minimum scaled mark in Mathematics Methods or an equivalent qualification.

For the MBA, applicants must generally hold a bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification and have at least three years of relevant documented professional experience. UWA also specifies English-language requirements for applicants who need to demonstrate English proficiency.

UWA Mumbai Fees

UWA India publishes tuition fees separately for domestic and international students. For students commencing in 2026, the first full-year domestic tuition fee is INR 14.52 Lakhs for most 3-year undergraduate programmes, INR 17.93 Lakhs for the Bachelor of Advanced Computer Science with Artificial Intelligence, INR 19.25 Lakhs for Master of Information Technology and INR 23.10 Lakhs for the MBA. 

UWA states that tuition fees are subject to annual review and may increase in subsequent academic years. Therefore, the first-year fee should not be treated as the fixed total programme fee for the entire duration.
