Binghamton University Application Process Step by Step

The application flow differs between UG and PG. Undergraduates route through a central US platform; graduates go directly through Binghamton’s grad portal. Steps below assume Fall 2027 entry.

1. UG applicants: Create an account on the Common Application (opened 1 August 2026 for the 2026-27 cycle), SUNY Application, or Coalition Application. PG applicants: start on the Binghamton graduate portal.
2. Complete profile, upload Class XII or Bachelor’s transcripts, and add extracurriculars, awards, and work experience.
3. Pay the application fee — USD 50 (around INR 4,791) for UG or USD 75 (around INR 7,186) for PG — directly on the portal. Fee waivers are not available for international applicants.
4. Upload the personal statement (two single-spaced pages for PG) and a two-page resume for PG.
5. Register recommenders (two letters for most PG programs; three for select departments). UG applicants supply one counselor recommendation.
6. Send IELTS or TOEFL scores directly from the testing agency and upload the score preview PDF.
7. Submit the ISFS financial statement and bank proof (asked at admission stage for I-20 issuance).

Binghamton University Admission Decisions Timeline
