With admittance of over 11,000 candidates from a total of over 15,000 applications received, Bowling Green State University (BGSU) had an acceptance rate of 73% in the fall of 2017.

Admission Requirement

Note

At least one of the recommended minimum English language proficiency score reports has to be submitted for admission. Also, exemption from submission of English Proficiency test score is granted to graduate applicants if they received their undergraduate degree from any U.S university.

Conditional Admission

BGSU offers conditional admission when international applicants are-

  • Applying to specific programs and are academically prepared and not meet English language proficiency at the time of application
  • Applicants can apply for conditional admission based on eventual completion of ELS level 112

Immigration for International Students

The Office of International Programs and Partnerships helps with the immigration process. The following documents are required to issue immigration documents from university:

Bowling Green State University Undergraduate Admissions

With a range of over a hundred undergraduate majors, the basic admission process for all the courses remains same.

For Freshmen: Undergraduate application portal

For Transfer: F-1 students from SEVIS certified institute must submit BGSU Transfer Eligibility form

Admission Requirements: The following documents have to be provided to receive an admission decision:

  • BGSU completed application form
  • BGSU Financial Statement
  • Official SAT or ACT results.
  • International applicants do not need to submit SAT/ACT results for admissions but it is required for merit based scholarship
  • English proficiency test score (one or more of the following):
    • TOEFL IBT – 71
    • IELTS – 6.0
    • PTE - 48
    • MELAB - 69
    • ELS – Level 112
  • Official transcripts from school in English or in official English translations
