Visa Requirements

If offered a place in UNC Charlotte, international students will need to acquire an F-1 or J-1 visa to study in the US. This can be applied for only after receiving an admission offer and the relevant visa document(either I-20 or Ds-2019)

  • A copy of your biographic page of the passport will be needed 
  • Proper evidence of funding must be provided
  • A SEVIS fee of 350 USD must be paid to the US department of Homeland Security
  • The SEVIS fee must be paid a few days before applying your visa
  • Applicants should then proceed to contact the nearest US embassy or Consulate and schedule their visa appointment
