University of Virginia 2020-2021 Admissions: Acceptance Rate, Requirements, Deadlines, Application Process

Vidushi Vidushi
Study Abroad Expert

Admissions at the University of Virginia are very competitive. UOV accepts applications both through Early Action and Regular Decision. However, it encourages the students to apply through Regular Decision so that they may strengthen their applications with available high school/college grades.

On average, the acceptance rate of the University of Virginia has been recorded to be 27.3%. This implies that the university is highly selective in choosing its prospective students and thus applicants must strive hard to make their application strong. While the University of Virginia considers academic grades and test scores, the application review process is done in a holistic manner.

For some graduate programs, not meeting the minimum score requirements may result in the application not being considered at all. Furthermore, the requirement of GRE has been waived off for many courses and therefore, students are advised to check for GRE requirements carefully.

Students applying for undergraduate courses must note that SAT Essay and ACT writing sections are not considered for application evaluation.

  • University of Virginia has one of the highest graduation rates (94%) among public universities in the US.
  •  90% of the admitted students were among the top 10% of their class.
  • No financial aid is available for international applicants.
  • The median annual salary of a UOV graduate is 60,000 USD
