Texas A&M Univesity is the largest university in the state of Texas and one of the largest in the United States.

  • If the applicants are caught submitting false information at the time of admission, their applications can be rejected, the offer of acceptance can be withdrawn, enrollment can be canceled, along with dismissal or other appropriate disciplinary action.

Admission Requirements for International Students

Required documents:

  • An essay.
  • If the applicants have graduated from high school, they must provide the final transcript that shows senior courses and date of graduation and a diploma, leaving certificate, or official examination results.
  • The transcript(s) must have an original signature of a school official or an original school seal.
  • English translation or credential evaluation prepared by a recognized service are required with all foreign transcripts.
  • Transcripts can be uploaded at HOWDY via the Applicant tab or sent through the mail.
  • Faxed or e-mailed copies will not be accepted.
  • If the applicant is in the final year when they apply, an official transcript showing at least three years of completed coursework and in-progress coursework must be received by the deadline.
  • Transcript must be evaluated from an evaluation service which is a member of the national association of credential evaluation services.
  • If the credentials are not in English, they must include a word for word English translation, performed by a recognized translation provider.
  • If foreign credits were transferred to a US school then only the US transcript is needed.
  • Official SAT or ACT scores must be sent through the testing agency.

Language Requirements for International Students

  • Proof of English proficiency is required of International applicants.
  • Texas A&M University accepts scores submitted electronically by the IELTS test center only. No paper test report forms will be accepted.

Undergraduate Admission Requirements

  • Submit essay as part of the application or upload at HOWDY via the applicant tab.
  • Official high school transcripts
    • Must include all courses and grades through the junior year.
    • A final official transcript with date of graduation.
    • Rank will be assigned based on SAT or ACT scores.
  • Send the transcripts through TREx (available only to Texas high schools) or upload a copy of the transcript at HOWDY via the Applicant tab or mail. Faxed, emailed or 3rd party transcripts (Parchment, eSCRIP-SAFE or Naviance) will not be accepted.
  • Official SAT or ACT SCORES must be sent through the testing agency.

Graduate Admission Requirements

Applicants may apply to only one degree-seeking program per semester. The application (and offer of admission) is valid for one year from the term of the original application.

  1. Official transcripts and records must be submitted from all colleges or universities attended.
  2. Transcripts may be uploaded for review; however, if admitted, the student must provide an official transcript directly to the office of admissions before they will be allowed to register for classes.
  3. Upload at HOWDY via the applicant tab or send electronically through SPEEDE, eScrip-SAFE or National Clearing House.
  4. Required test scores should be directly sent from the testing agency.
  5. Permanent residents are required to submit a copy of their permanent resident card.
